I’m getting my wife into Oasis in preparation for next year’s tour. She’s currently obsessed with Talk Tonight. Before that, Going Nowhere. That Noely-G magic is real, folks. Problem is, they’re both B sides & not likely to be played on the tour. Oh well, a thousand million other gems to rock her world with too👌🤘
tom S Maybe you didn’t listen to some Paul Weller’s tunes - maybe start with his Wild Wood, The Jam’s “That’s Entertainment” and The Style Council’s “My Ever Changing Moods”. Great musician. There would maybe be no Oasis without him.
@@coolkidtv6276 It would be better if Noel wasn’t as strummy strummy. It’s like Noel ain’t listening sometimes, this song is massively emotionally charged for him I understand that. I love how this whole performance feels like it’s about to fall apart, like the song suggests anyway. Weller’s got soul man. Two beautiful songsters battling it out together trying to make sense of shit bloody wonderful xxx
ironically this makes me cry every time. Big up Noel fuckin genius, i wanna talk tonight bout how ya saved my liiife. lovely touch with weller n all. dons
I admit, I was never a massive Oasis fan. Britpop passed me by because I wasn't really into music at the time, that only happened later. But listening to Oasis songs years later, they did write some cracking songs and this is one of their best I think. I think it's heartbreaking as well as beautiful
crazy times. Noel shows up and within like a year he’s made best friends with one his heroes and his hero is relaunching his own music career by being your backing keyboardist on a tv show. and the lead singer isnt eve arsed showing up!
One of my best friends and I were laying on the floor of my room one night and he put on this song and said it reminded him of me. Every time I listen to it, I get emotional
I hope these guys don't let their animosity towards each other kill their chance at a reunion. If they do ever get back together the world might implode on itself, I just hope I have front row seats.
@@DaveTaste Yes, I'm sure. You can tell just by listening to his voice. Even if the man on keys is not Paul Weller, which I'm pretty sure it is, he is 100% not Liam. Also, it says Paul's name in the video title :)
@@Jusliu829 my apologies. Due to tone being missing from a comment I was taking the p155 out of the original comment about hoping they get back together. Dry humour that gets lost in the written word.... Or I'm just not very good at it. I've seen Weller a few times. Not really a fan of The Jam nor The Style Council. Wild Wood, Stanley Road and Heavy Soul are my favourite. Check out his set on Southbank, I think it was 97. Phenomenal. Also, Whirlpools End on Jools Holland. Look at the face Steve White makes as he thinks the song is coming to a close..... Then the realisation that they're all on fire and they jam a bit more. I think I made a comment on that video too about how the string section really adds to the performance.... And how Morrisey has calmed down since he played the trumpet.... You'll spot it and see what I mean, you may have already seen it. Edit you may have seen the video... Not my comment on the video :)
Even with Weller crooning along Noel still stays true to his song, right on tempo. Brilliant. He also looks EXTREMELY fucked up but performs perfectly anyway.
You should check out the "supersonic" doc on oasis to find out how this song came out. Pretty nuts story involving crystal meth and Noel 'leaving' the band for a few days to escape to san francisco.
@@emilyrl840 Ye no, Paul Wellers vocals have and always will be miles beyond anything Noel is capable of. I'm not saying noels are bad, they're quite good but nowhere near comparable with Wellers.
Love my Noel, but when he sings…it’s a nice appetizer. When Weller sings, it’s a robust feast. I would love to hear Paul sing the entire Oasis catalog. It would be godlike.
all cd's are flat and all mp3's (of which cd's are made) are compressed. other than pointing out the obvious, i'm at loss for what you're actually getting at? PS. Pretty sure they're all on Vinyl, or available on Itunes as FLAC files, which will give you a good audio quality.
Yes, I have it is brilliant! What I was trying to say in my comment was that CD’s sound have lost the dynamic range of earlier 1980-90 recordings. There seems to be such a difference if I play old cds against any modern one the sound is less clear and sounds fuzzy. I just had a search and this is a good explanation. Im 59….watching clips like this keeps me young !
Forever young brother ❤
Keep on keeping on!
I'm 55 and I feel exactly the same way
im 53 this year this tune takes me back to better times
I’m 21 and this and oasis tunes are the only tunes that seem relevant atm, absolutely timeless

Yeah man im 26🤙 some real classics
19 and it’s the best shit about this

Absolute magic. Typical Weller, understated but adds a touch of soul and class to an already brilliant tune.
remember watching this at age 14/15 magical then and now at 37...
Happy 40th now
I just turned 40 and this is my first song I listen on the day
Hope everything is fine with you!
Me too. 17
This is our song. Almost nineteen years of marriage, two kids, two deployments, and eight moves later, I still wanna talk tonight.
His best song.. I was there for the Word performance, the white room.. It may be a close run thing with slide away, but this is a perfect song.
I sang this for a girl once at a campfire. The way she looked at me, I will never forget that moment.
Amazing love song for the campfire
this song....and fly away. your getting some puss if you don't screw it up
Thanks for the advice lol
Is it cause you had a lob on?
Hahah nice mate
Weller's accompaniment is spot-on. Knows just when to add his voice without taking anything away from Noel.
Well put.
Personally I didn't like the organ on this version.
Fuck I see some dumb comments on here

All your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade. What a simple but so deep and meaningful lyric.
it's one of my favourite oasis lyrics, noel puts words together so beautifully

I know Oasis get a lot of dirt thrown on them, but come on. This is such a beautiful song.

That last note from Weller 😍
Holy crap... I had no clue this version existed! Noel Gallagher AND Paul Weller, two people I love, doing a song I love! Beautiful
Just found it too. Sublime!
I used to have this on cassette tape. Great to hear it on RUclips.
i remember in the 90s putting this on the CD player, one of my favourite songs of all time. what with
the meaning.
first time hearing paul's voice proper, been a massive fan of oasis for abit and there voices match and sound so good together
This song was released as a B side to Wonderwall way back in the day of cassettes. Wonderwall was great, but Talk Tonight had soul.
Best cassette ever
Released on some might say

I’m 15 what a class tune mr Noel Gallagher proves it time and time again total genius and Paul Weller great artist
this and masterplan are my top 2 songs from his old band
I'm 50 now and I just love how great this music was back in the day brilliant
The 90s kicked ass !!
Brilliant, this pair work well together
Honestly just genius, what a combo, and one of the. most underrated songs in noels vast catalogue of gems
Both brilliant British music artists
Paul Weller looks like a much less angry Liam.
Lmao 😂 I wanted it sm to be played between them now that there's a reunion
Paul is legend. Fuck Oilchester.
Paul is legend
And intelligent
Love this song
thank you for the good times
Just how cool is the Mod father man's a legend
What a tune !
Hreat song! Weller sounds great too, good version.
Great pairing👌🏽💥
Oasis need to get back together for a Covid-19 benefit concert. Come on Noel! This is the time!
Yesss
For real
This aged well! See you in Heaton Park 2025❤
Memories of an incredible sleepless night
Paul Weller & Noal Gallager Just show how it's done.No Auto Tune just Sheer talent.

I love OASiS and have done since the beginning… What an unbelievable song! 🩵 #oasis #mcfc

Paul Weller. He's one of Noel's heroes. Look him up. He's had a very diverse musical career.

Anyone know what keys weller is playing? Looks like a fender Rhodes but can’t tell
Wurlitzer.
