Really good video, you covered everything! I was searching for a nice beginner mechanical keyboard with RGB and found this one! I searched it up and your video came up, and so I watched it. Wow. I was not dissapointed, and I believe this is gonna be the keyboard I'm gonna get if and when I do! Thanks.
One thing missing, usb passthrough :'( still this might be on top of my keyboard list at the moment. edit: 14:57 ok I'm sold. It's in my basket ready for checkout... can't wait to smell it.
Lol! That smell - it really did strike me when I opened it up. And that "hadoken" lighting is way cool. My favorite effect while play Street Fighter type games. If you ordered it, I hope you like it!
Personally I don't care for RGB. What I like about that keyboard is the fact that it has an all aluminium case. The model before was already built like a tank, and this one might be even better with those switches.
@@MrClassicmetal I think they made even more refinements around the metal (kinda like an Airstream RV maybe.) It feels/looks more aerodynamic when you feel the housing with your fingers. I like the housing a lot.
OMG MAAN THANK YOU SO MUCH FN F12 SAVED ME, I DIDDEN T KNEW WHY MY WINDOWS KEYBOARD BUTTON WAS NOT WORKING BUT BECAUSE OF U KNOW I KNOW MY KEYBOARD IS NOT BROKEN
First of all, awesome video! One of the only detailed videos about this keyboard. Second, I'm a programmer and I'm typing alot and I was leaning towards the red switches, but I've heard that the aqua is better for typing, what do you say?
Thanks, I appreciate it! About the switches, personally I think the reds are a bit "too fast" if you do a lot of typing. I'm comp sci by training so I used to type fast - but I find myself using the backspace more often with red switches in general. It's like you have to think about the letters as you type them in because you have to do it in sequence and the feedback isn't really there. The tactile switches gives your fingers a chance to "feel" feedback, therefore less thought required. I hope this thought helps you somehow.
helo , i appreciate your video and i would like to know if for the game mode can it ok for playing in game mode for ps4 and ps5 pls , specially for tekken games and other fighting games because im goin to purchase one soon , thks for the feed back sir ^^
Yesterday I bought hyperx origins core I have to send it back. The cctr key stings my palm in left down corner when I type in game verry annoying..before I had chroma TE v1 that 5 cm of palmrest was enough ,overall good quailty and red switches ar amazing.
Can I swap the keycaps with offbrands ones that don't specify hyper X? So do the switches have the same socket as MX reds? Sorry I am new to fancy keyboards
Thanks! I've noticed that HyperX always makes improvements with newer products, so I'd probably go with the Alloy Origins. Having said that, the Alloy FPS RGB is $35 cheaper right now ($75 vs $110, maybe because it's Black Friday/Cyber Monday) so it's also a great buy. The switch is different (Kailh Silver) if that matters to you. I haven't used it so I can't tell you much about it though.
@@FirstL00k thanks for reply,i bought hyperx alloy FPS RGB edition with Silver switches, first 2-3 days were really sloppy and i couldnt really play at my best, but after 3-4 days i got use to it and now its working really good!
The HyperX switches apparently use the same keycaps as Cherry. Since they already made keyboards with Cherry switches (before they came out with their own), it was probably the easiest (and cheapest) way to do it.
I really like how the keys feel on the Origins. But when I think about why, it probably has to do with how the aluminum housing is matched with the key switches. To make a point, imagine tapping a hollow Ikea table vs a solid oak one; the oak table just feels more solid, and just that much more satisfactory. Functionally, there's probably not that much of a difference. It's just what my fingers are saying to me, and it's different from other people's fingers, I'm sure. :-)
They work almost the same way. It's probably a question of cost - HyperX now makes their own switches that are as good (or better); no reason to buy them from Cherry.
They both offer excellent performance; either one are a good choice. For now, I'd say go with your favorite brand/keyboard design and look for a good price. I really like the design and feel of this board (and smell!), so these are the selling points for me. Over time, we'll see how good the switch's long-term reliability is, but it's too new a product for anyone to be able to tell.
