Oh my! as a budding amateur geologist . A major piece of understanding minerals has just clicked in. Thank you for a wonderful demonstration. I am 60 yrs old and delighted to keep learning.
I was having trouble understanding this process from my Geology text book and this video really helped and explains it in a very simple and exact way. Thank you so much. Great video!
Thank you for this wonderful video. I have been struggling to keep all of the information about silicates in my head, because I only understood them as facts to be memorized. Now, I understand the chemistry behind them and the facts have finally settled into my brain! Thank you!
I was trying to understand the Bowen's reaction series and someone pointed me toward the chemistry, very good and concise description of all the structures.
Thank you so much for this video, Ma'am. It's a very simple explanation but really helpful for me as a Geology student! I hope you could make more videos soon..
Good Lord, this woman sounds like what I'd imagine Glad0s to sound like if she were still human -_-'. (In all seriousness though, very helpful. Had to use this for a Geology assignment, kudos)
I'm very much enjoying these lessons - thank you for sharing your time and knowledge!
I too am a Geology student having trouble understanding this in my text book! Thanks for the movie, it makes sense!

I love you Wendy, your literally saving my college education
Sooooper job. As a geotechnical professional, I find this video very useful to understand clay mineralogy.
The title does not do the video justice. You did your job alright. Thanks a lot!

Thank You very much, this was really well taught and understandable.
Personally, as a novice petrologist, getting a strong grip on silicates is vital. Possibly as important as tectonics.
Excellent. I long ago learned that most rocks were made of silicon and oxygen, but i wondered "then why are they so different"?
Thank you for the clear explanation. I appreciate it.
Amazing video!
Thank you so much :) kept it simple and clear .
thank you very much for this video. You did a very great job of explaining

Thank you so much, you've done a pretty good job!!! Super useful.
you are very awesome! so for every one Fe and one Mg, there is only one tetrahedron?
Great video, well explained but orthosilicates were missing...
Enjoyed this thank you
Wow this is a great education video
Thank you for this. My Mineralogy professor did a god awful job explaining this stuff.
This video hit different while pooping

Tout est bien explique !
thanx this video helped me a lot
Thanks so much. Great explanation.
Very helpful indeed!
Video should be at the top of the list. It must have been idiots who gave it a thumbs down.
Thank you Ma'am
thank yu
Perfect
wendy I love you so so much thank you
Thank you!!!
super
But silica is si02 and silicate si04?
nice tricks for easy remember
Perfect.
Thanks
thanks
Genius
how does the molecule get a net charge of -4?
and is the silicon atom positively charge because oxygen has a higher electronegativity?
Si has a charge of +4, while each of the four oxygens have a charge of -4, so the molecule has +4 + 4(-2)= -8
I can't tell ,what all I forgot , press on !

may you go to heaven
Amazing?
