  • Veteran Journalist Ayesha Khanum becomes Chairperson of Karnataka Media Academy, as she assumes office this afternoon in an ceremonial event of signing of the induction papers in the presence of large number of media professionals and her family members.
    The event was witnessed by several media stalwarts that include Ponnappa, Bhaskar Hegde, Vijay Grover, Yasir Mushtaq, Nehal Kidwai, Jaipal Sharma, Ragha Tirumalachari and Sharfuddin among others.
    Ayesha is a respectable journalist started career with the Asian Age, moved on to Aajtak, Star News, ABP News and later with the Doordarshan. Her stint with journalism took her to ground reporting on major assignments across India and Abroad. She has the credit to cover conflict zones too.
    Ayesha Khanum has the credit of covering several breaking stories following ethical journalism to the best of her abilities. She has a rich past to work with several stalwarts in the industry.

    Ayesha expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for extending his support in her candidature to the high post as the Chairperson of the academy. It may be noted that with this appointment she becomes first Chairperson to assume office as a women power.
