Thank you very much for that very positive comment. Next basic power on the list is Mind Control, but I might squeeze in Objects part 2 before that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
One of my friends was using the 50pt Thermite Grenade Shredder, which explodes and does 3 penetrating damage to all characters within 3 squares when it gets KO'd. So he ran him up into my team hoping I'd KO him. Instead I used TK to throw him over to his team and then running shot KO'd him from range. HOT POTATO!
Another outstanding video - thank you! An exception to the "can't push a character forward" would be if it is a smaller size than the character using TK, in which case you can see over it.
I know it's a lot of work. Yours are very well edited videos and I know how much work that implies. And I appreciate thoroughly. I hope you get soon to Team Abilities, 'cause I'm confused now. I don't even know if Minions of Doom exist anymore or how they work! X-P But I'll wait 'til its turn. Best of lucks, sir!
I have a 300 point Metropolis team, and I like to use Star Labs Technician to throw 200 point Lex Luthor (JLTW) forward into the fray or pull him out if things get too hot. Thanks for your video. These are all really helpful.
Have you considered remaking this "Heroclix Tutorial" series? A lot has changed in 6 years. (I'm a returning player. It's been 15 years since I played last. I'm glad to see people are making content for it).
Just one small note here: Jean Grey's power would be worded as FREE, not "at no cost." That phrase is usually added to abilities that would instantly trigger the ability, while FREE actions are voluntary things you can do anytime. The distinction matters for things that look for FREE actions like Billy Batson, or in Skirmish where you actually have a limit on FREE actions.
I'm glad they changed TK to 6 squares, the Outsiders team ability too. I really enjoy pick a power pieces and I even played a 300pt team of rookie Goblin King, Element Man, Nice Minoru, and Ace the Bathound. I always find it funny when my opponent tries to count squares to try to stay out of my range. Sometimes I remind them I could choose Telekinesis. Sometimes. :')
@5:22 u say the tker range has no barring on how far it can be placed. In the PAC it says 6 squares from targets square not from the tkers square so if my range value is 10 and my target is 4 squares ahead couldn't I tk them 6 more within range and lof?
I'm sorry, but I think I still don't get the minimum range of 6 rule. Why is Mento able to move Elasti-Girl if she's closer than 6 spaces? And for characters that have no ranged combat attacks it says the minimum range is 6, then what is the maximum range? I think this just could be a simple word misunderstanding, but I'd appreciate the clarification. Thanks!
So is it 6 or 8 squares? In my Wizkids rules it says it's 8 squares... am i using the old rules? If i am, and I am using old characters (really old) which rules should i be using and where can i find them? I really enjoy your videos you are very clear and helpful, thanks.
6 squares, new rules. The new Powers and abilities card is black with a 15th anniversary logo on the front... Getting one of those (in a new starter set or with a Sidekick night kit) will be helpful!
Here's a question, I have a Magneto who has two bolts next to his range, and also has telekinesis. Can I move a friendly character and then attack an opposing character in the same turn because of the double range? Could I move two friendly characters with the double range? Thank you!
This video was published after the new rules and what you see here is "2017-rules"-correct. A character placed by TK can't use TK this turn, but it can be given any other action just fine. Hope that helps.
So, can a character that was moved with TK take an action of ther own? I understand that TK cannot be used by said character, but can they make an attack, move, or other said action after the fact?
Oooh I've not thought about TK'ing a special object into the starting area to equip it. Much better than TKing the character out to it if you've got a group transporter setup. With the new TK a character can TK itself. Circumstantial but you might use it once a year. Cheers.
Indeed he is. I would have talked about Peace Machine in this video, but regrettably, I pulled a headless one (it doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while, you pull a broken figure). To build around him, you want to keep in mind that he will limit damage to 3, so you're better to have more characters that deal 3 damage or less (some penetrating, some Precision Strike, some Mystics will be good) instead of having a big brute that deals a lot of damage. If you're opponent banked on a figure with big damage output, his point investment in that figure will have been wasted and it gives you an advantage. Have fun!
Thanks a lot for the vídeo been learnig a lot of hc i was wondering if you knew a cheap modern tk user and a cheap mind control user since i justo want to try to fit those powers into a 300 team
Jeanette (rare) from the new Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls set is only 50 points and has TK on the first click (Mercury, showcased in that video, is still Modern and only 25 points). Negasonic Teenage Warhead (rare) from the Deadpool and X-Force set is 50 points has a Mind Control variant that allows you to use Outwit on the character that was Mind Controlled. Have fun!
Oddly enough, yes. The wording of Telekinesis allows it. A character has line of fire to itself. I should have mentioned that in the video in hindsight. Thanks for asking (and thanks to Johan for answering).
TK: Characters placed by this power can’t use Telekinesis this turn. I assumed this applied to the WHOLE turn as with the carry ability, but I am very fuzzy on this. Can you do a close attack with someone, then be carried away by another character? Carry: If you do, the chosen character can’t be given a costed action this turn.
How does TK work when making an object attack against an opponent in Stealth? I heard that because the attacker using TK is targeting the square, and not the opponent, the attack would be legal....is this true?
Gerald Goodwin That was under the old rules and doesn't apply anymore. Under the new rules you make regular Range Object action which require that you can draw a LoF to the opposing character. So TK is no longer the stealth buster it used to be.
Johan is correct (thanks for your great participation, btw). Attacking an opposing character with TK is a RANGE Object Action that works as any other range attack; Stealth, ES/D, Shape Change, etc., everything works the same. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It is legal. It is especially useful when you want to move a character without having to break away (since placing a character is not the same as moving it). I should have given that example in the video ;o).
Hat almost made it to the Telekinetic character sampler. Menagerie fits the bill perfectly for a themed Blades/Claws/Fangs companion. Thanks for sharing!
I can see in the PAC that it says if the target is an opposing character they must first be hit by a range attack but I can't figure out why they would have made it so you can't use a close attack, any ideas?
You can use it in base contact because the telekinesis power has improved targeting: ignores adjacent characters. So go ahead and tk that based fatty away!
That only applies when you are moving objects with TK. The placing characters variant does not grant any improved targeting. As to why they've removed the close attack variant from TK I'm guessing it is for simplicity.
Johan is correct. Because Telekinesis is a POWER action that does not strictly target characters, it couldn't be worded like Incapacitate or Mind Control are... I'm guessing that's why the decision was made to let go the close attack possibility. I mean, technically, it's always a RANGE thing because you never contact the other character. Thanks all for watching and commenting.
if both characters are at an elevated area then green lantern use telekinesis to move an opposing character to a non-elevated area does it drop the opposing character witch deals is 2 damage or just place it down ?
Depends... The placement you're describing might not be legal, actually. If both characters are on the rim, you might be able to do that TK just fine. Remember that the starting square must have line of fire to the destination square (within 6 squares) and both these squares must be within range and line of fire of the character using TK. In any case, you can't place a character in a square where he would "fall off" an elevation. TK can be used to place a character on a different level, but there's no way to have one "fall" this way. Hope that helps.
Yeah, it's pretty fun. And it's just as fun if your character has improved movement so it isn't forced to stop when becoming adjacent to an opposing character. Then charge to the character, pick up the object from underneath it and then slap it in the face with the object. Or run by with running shot pick up the object as you pass by and then toss the it back at the character.
That's why I think it's important to change teams... Heroclix lends itself well to exploring new teams all the time. Change the point value of a game, add a theme or build condition, etc. Use that "melting" team for competition, but give yourself a challenge when playing casually. I like to use Fast Forces packs a lot in those situations. Have fun (and make sure the other players have fun as well ;o)!
So happy you're doing basic powers again. You really make the game more interesting and explain things thoroughly.
Thank you very much for that very positive comment. Next basic power on the list is Mind Control, but I might squeeze in Objects part 2 before that. Thanks for watching and commenting.

So he ran him up into my team hoping I'd KO him. Instead I used TK to throw him over to his team and then running shot KO'd him from range. HOT POTATO!
Oh my, what a fabulous use of TK! Love it. That's a perfect example of how versatile this power is. Thanks for sharing!
Thanx as allways from Argentina!!!
Another outstanding video - thank you! An exception to the "can't push a character forward" would be if it is a smaller size than the character using TK, in which case you can see over it.
Excellent video! Wonderful use of graphics!
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
Really nice video, as always! Thanks for the hard work. Now I understand better this power.
Glad to help (it is a lot of work ;o). And thank you for watching and commenting!

Negasonic Teenage Warhead from the op kit is a goddess partnered with surge

Just a questions this video was before the rule changes right? I think you can't do actions after TK now right?
This video was published after the new rules and what you see here is "2017-rules"-correct. A character placed by TK can't use TK this turn, but it can be given any other action just fine. Hope that helps.
so for characters like colossal Jakar who has 3 free tk's...could you just use all 3 to throw heavy objects at an opponent and THEN attack?!
So, can a character that was moved with TK take an action of ther own? I understand that TK cannot be used by said character, but can they make an attack, move, or other said action after the fact?
I have this mandarin 030 and it says he can be assigned up to 2 relics, how does that work if relics are immobile?
If your moved by TK, can the character who was moved make an action, like after being TK’d can it then attack?
Oooh I've not thought about TK'ing a special object into the starting area to equip it. Much better than TKing the character out to it if you've got a group transporter setup. With the new TK a character can TK itself. Circumstantial but you might use it once a year. Cheers.
Have the rules changed where a person can only be TKed a max of four squares from his first square position?
I have Peace Machine, and I've heard he's a really fun TK user, I'm just not sure who else to build around him with.
Indeed he is. I would have talked about Peace Machine in this video, but regrettably, I pulled a headless one (it doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while, you pull a broken figure). they're a little older but Exodus and Graviton are 2 excellent figures for TK that are great at casual play.
Very powerful figures, indeed! Beautiful sculpts, too. Thanks for sharing.
Can i TK an opposing character off elevating terrain & giv them 1 click of unavoidable damage?
Thanks a lot for the vídeo been learnig a lot of hc i was wondering if you knew a cheap modern tk user and a cheap mind control user since i justo want to try to fit those powers into a 300 team

The Tabletop Teacher thanks a lot
Can you place yourself in onther square with tk?
Yes. Which is a neat trick to get away from an adjacent character with Plasticity or to "throw yourself on/off the rim of elevted terrin.
Oddly enough, yes. The wording of Telekinesis allows it. A character has line of fire to itself. I should have mentioned that in the video in hindsight. Thanks for asking (and thanks to Johan for answering).

Can I use TK to drop a walking character off a ledge for 2 falling damage?

Best channel of HC
Thank you very much! Glad you're enjoying the content. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks I've been trying to get understand TK recently
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching and commenting.
This was so helpful
I watched a video where a character used Telekinesis to move themselves.
That seemed odd to me.
Odd as in ... that person was cheating.
Please assist?
It is legal. It is especially useful when you want to move a character without having to break away (since placing a character is not the same as moving it). I should have given that example in the video ;o).
Knowledge... Lol
Why do heavy objects block line of fire? Under new rules I thought that they were not hindering terrain.
They are not hindering terrain but they are considered hindering for Lines of Fire purposes.
Johan is correct. Take a look at the Objects Tutorial (part 1) for more on this. ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=H1W5pTUV6a4
I bearly understand it before but now Im just finding more ways to put tk on my teams
That's what I like to read! Glad I could help. Have fun!
With smww015 Hat you can have a low cost support with tk, It's very useful. I mix him with a hulk or a character with blades/Claws/Fangs
Hat almost made it to the Telekinetic character sampler. Menagerie fits the bill perfectly for a themed Blades/Claws/Fangs companion. Thanks for sharing!

Matthew Randell well dang....that's a thing that exists now

I just started heroclix in Singapore and there is little to no community or forums for heroclix here its really sad
I wish you many new players! I hope this channel can help your friends learn how to play this amazing game. Thanks for watching.
Thanks!I just wish there was a way to get people of a younger audience who like Marvel or DC to get to know and learn this game.

thanks alot
Mi favorite Telekinesis are Major Victory because he can use it twice with guardians of the galaxy
Please do the video about Quake and Energy Explosion
chutemoc quake got buffed and energy explosion became a little more diffucult but still good to use
The powers are on the list... Wish I could make more videos per week, but a guy's gotta make a living ;o). Thanks for watching and commenting!
Lol i didnt know you can pick up and object an opponent is standing on AND hit him with it lol that made me laught, now i have to use it lol
That'll teach 'em ;o).
Strife from DXF, if he uses a non free action that turn, he can use Tel with no cost.
People are getting mad at me for using venom hulk and multiple hellions and just melting teams
Now I use Jakar AI tk 3 times to set up ping-pong attack by Hulk and Thor from Ragnarok set, it’s awesome!!!
Oh oh Graviton can use telekinesis on Enemys without the attack
No attack-roll TK on opposing characters? Wow... Hold on to that one.
How about Running shot with TK?
TK is a POWER action and Running Shot grants a RANGE action. So they cannot be combined.
Johan is correct. Running Shot requires a POWER action and so does TK; can't do both.
Thank you so much
My pleasure! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Cool video
Thanks!
