- Today I review the NEW Philly Melt from Burger King! ($2.99)
The new Philly Melt features two Whopper Jr. Patties, layered with two slices of Swiss cheese, fire-grilled peppers and onions, and Royal Sauce, all sandwiched between two toasted bread rounds.
This sounds like an interesting spin on their MELTS! But do I ENDORSE it? Please watch and find out.

As someone born and raised in the Philadelphia area, whenever I see something advertised as a “Philly” and it includes peppers and especially Swiss cheese I become instantly enraged! No, but seriously it’s onions and American/provolone if not leave it alone.

Isn't the bread supposed to be toasted?
I don't know if it's a training issue or if BK really wants them like this, but I've had the same issue with my local BKs not toasting them. The bread is too chewy to not toast it IMO.
It legit never is, and that’s always the #1 complaint. Somehow BK hasn’t found it necessary to take 15 seconds to toast a damn piece of bread.
No that’s just how they show it in the picture. But we would be silly to expect it to come that way. 🤡
Yes, and the one I got was toasted to a nice golden brown.
It never is. I’ve gotten probably 3 melts since they’ve introduced them years ago, always plain soft bread . These are a flop

All day for $3.99 but that will be $5.99 here in the taxation State of New Jersey, this has to be the third review I've seen of yours on the not-toasted bun complaint on their melts
Agreed 100%. I'm not paying 6 bucks for that thing. But for 3-4, absolutely. I'm in NJ too.
I wonder what your sales tax is nowadays. I used to live in Jersey. I live in a small town in Illinois and it is 9%. Used to be so cheap to live here - now insane!
$5.99 here in Oregon, with no taxes. Too expensive to try, maybe at $2.99, but NOT $5.99 with those small parties.
Sad, overall the sandwich looks good but the bread not being toasted is very disappointing. You definitely got it for a good price though 👍🏻

I just tried the Philly melt, Philly wrap, and birthday cake pie.
The royal sauce was excellent, my sandwich wasn't toasted either, I wish it was toasted like toasted cheese (with butter on both the sandwich and wrap), and the birthday cake ok (maybe better with banana custard)
Jack n the box has a sourdough jack that knocks it out of the park with its' swiss cheese so I think it depends on how you do it.
BK does use a microwave, I worked there for years and its not called a microwave but it technically is one

Yeah.... They should have called it the Swiss Cheese Patty Melt or something... Just because there is peppers and onions doesn't make this any kind of Philly Cheese... anything... I live in PA so it's a big deal calling something a Philly Sando or Burger! But, you are crushing these new BK food reviews as always and keeping it real with us! I always crack a smile when watching your videos!
BK always has issues toasting the bread.

They’re listed as $5.99 on the app. for my local BK. The wrap is listed at $2.99.
Why do they always assemble it wrong
It's not even a patty melt if bread isn't toasted or grilled.
It’s not even a Philly melt since they are using the same patties that they used for whoppers, it’s not even steak, which is what helps make a Philly steak sandwich, and Swiss cheese is not used for Philly steak sandwiches.

They must microwave or their "toaster" is actually one of those Starbucks combo nuker/toaster. That is a great price - it is so much more expensive here! I would have thought it would be provolone or cheese wizzy cheese for most Philly cheese steaks. But it has been awhile since I lived in nearby Jersey so maybe they are going to pot too, just like most of my beloved country. LOL

Yeah I agree they kind of missed the target by not grilling the bread that would have added both taste and looks making it a better product. I have to sometimes wonder how such big Corporations can see the forest for the tree’s.
The inside looks good but I agree the outside of the bread should be toasted or grilled. Price is good.
I give proos to those locations that have been golden toasting their buns (they know what's up) toasting with butter or an olive oil blend would hit the taste buds just right!

Just had it today for lunch. Actually liked it except mine was grilled well on only one side. I hate Swiss cheese and this didn’t taste like it so it was good and melty.

Yes pretty much everything from BK is trash 🚮 the fries 🍟 are the worst in the fast food game and the last few times I’ve gone the food was just lukewarm.
You Should have tried that Philly Melt on a Regular Poppy Seeded Bun but with American Cheese instead of Swiss...

My favorite is the Frisco melt from Hardee's!
I had it today. Don't waste your money. It was over $6 and it was horrible. No sauce on it, very little cheese, and the peppers and onions were almost raw. Bread was not grilled and was actually tough. It was horrible.
Can you replace the onions and peppers with tomato 🍅

They microwave it to melt the cheese instead of toasting the bread
I just ate one and it had one pattie and slimey onion and peppers on an edge of the soggy bun. Out of 100 I would give it a 1. It tasted 😮 like crap. They also got our order wrong. No bacon on the bacon melt.

I got it. I tried it. I liked it and I don't like Burger King that much. My bread was actually toasted. Believe it or not should have took a picture. I got the cake birthday pie. Whatever I want it to try the mozzarella fingers but they gave me chicken just like Burger King 😅

PEEP paid 7.99 for same itty bitty burger and gave great review....but he always introduces himself as"Peep this out" when ordering at drive thru so they give him quality food
