- I am not an expert in Hinduism but here I am sharing my experience of Varanasi a spirtual city together with a Hindu friend who guided me and explain me Hinduism religion as well as this city.
Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Ghats in Varanasi are riverfront steps leading to the banks of the Ganges river. The city has 84 ghats. Most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremonial ghats, while two ghats, Manikarnika and Harishchandra, are used exclusively as cremation sites.

Almost all temples welcome all non muslims but some ancient temple which have history of destruction by mostly Muslim invaders doesn't welcome Muslims like Jagannath Puri, Kashi Vishwanath etc. Infact the temple where you were not allowed was reconstructed one. The original temple use to be at the site of Masjid adjacent to temple which you should have visited. The back wall of that Masjid is something to see.

Us time par ek concept ho gaya ki muslim log Humara culture ko nast kar rahe hai isiliye muslim ko jaganath mandir me allow nahi hai.

Actually Non-Hindus are not allowed in the Kadhi Vishwanath temple because it is believed that non-Hundus are usually beef eaters. Hindus don't eat beef, That's why.

Varanasi has a very different vibe. The city is full of chaos & highly disorganised. If you come from a posh area then you may not like it. Yet, the place has a lot to offer.

It must have been overwhelming for you being a Pakistani and the pre-conceived notions about Hinduism and Hindus in particular , given the facts that is taught in Pakistani books about Hindus and Hinduism. it was interesting to see Varanasi from Pakistani perspective. Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places on earth and one of the seats of Hinduism. It is bound to be loud , crazy and crowdy given the nature of the city. I would suggest you to visit " Haridwar" and "Rishikesh" in your next trip ,that is relatively more calm and serene.
His poorvajs must have come here as a devotee but as they got converted by Mughals now it is new for him.

Hinduism is more than 5000 year old .Present day Peshawar's old name is Pushkalwati , Kandhar actually is Gandhar and Multan's ancient name is Hanspur ,Kashtpur.

Dear You should have gone to see the Gyan wapi Masjid.....if you were denied entry in Vishwanath Mandir....you would probably know how the distribution was done & this is the very reason of what you got there ...more over you would be shocked to see the structure of Masjid......which is completely Hindu temples base with red bricks & top mosque is completely different......when I was there seeing that was bit painful .
Modi needs to do a lot more to clean all 84 ghats of Varanasi. When we see the videos of Makka or Kaba or vatican, christians and Muslims have kept their places clean but our vatican is varanasi, and its unfortunate that except few pockets, it was filthy and unclean. but this one is good vlog. 4K video was amazing.

Great vlog. I am from varanasi. Sorry that you couldn't enter kashi vishwanath temple-gyanvapi mosque complex because of lack of proper directions. You tried entering from the main gate on the street and hence were stopped. You could have entered the complex from the ghat. It was right next to the cremation ghat that you visited. You may have seen a new ghat and big gate facing the ganga, you could have entered from there into the courtyard of the temple where everyone is allowed.

Non hindus are not allowed because our temples were fully destroyed by mughal and other invaders. This temple and many more jyotirlinga were renovated by ahilyabai holkar in 18th century. The main temple is next ro it known as gyanvapi mazjid which was actually our main remple.

A religion is a single legion (large tribe) based on ONE belief system with ONE GOD and one book ... designed to herd the tribe or legion tightly together, and to defend the tribe against other tribes, and to invade other tribes and take over their lands and women. But hinduism (indic culture) changes around 3000 to 2000 years ago to a more philosophical logical morality based (dharma) culture with MANY beliefs many gods many books and many ideas all co existing together. It iwas th culture of the indic region = PLURALISM , an encapsulation of many tribal religions that existed before. So you do find artifacts of older religions in hinduism, but the base is very non religious and DHARMIC since a couple of millennia.
As for the muslims not being allowed in many hindu temples, i am not saying it is right or not, and am sorry if you felt bad for not being allowed in, but do please think from the perspective of the hindus who have seen muslims zealots attack and deface and destroy and denigrate and repalce by mosques and put the idols of hindu jain buddhists under the steps of the great jama masjids to put down hindu jian sikh buddhists and show the POWER OF ISLAM. So they do not let muslims enter, not any personal hate against you. Again sorry if you felt bad. There are many modern temples that do allow muslims to enter and many indian muslims do enter even offer prayers in them. 🙏🏻❤
