This video is a timelapse of the drawing I did in my previous video, which was a critique of an orc drawing by John Willis. After I posted that video I went back and made some changes based on critiques that you guys gave me. Watch at 11:35 to see me make changes to the expression of the face.
GIVEAWAY:
Find me on facebook and reshare my post to this video. I'll randomly pick a winner on March 29th.

There is something very beautiful about a monstrous Orc's face slowly appearing in time to some smooth Jazz.
jazzy orc
What a true artist you are! Respect!! And great music to!!
Thank you :)
These small modifications made a huge and very positive difference. Surprised how easily you were able to make the changes without compromising the finished piece, too. Excellent!
I wish I could use fast forward on my real life drawings
But then you would fast forward through all the fun :)
theilltrip True True
Not true. You would just have way more cool drawings in your portfolio.

Thanx man for sharing this. Glad to see someone still draws it in a classical way - from the construction to shading.
holy crap this is good. if this was food i would be GOBLIN it up. if this was music it would be as good as an ORChestra. oh yes.... i just said that.
Don't be ridORCulous. Not even punny.
;)
Hahha
I don't know but its eye doesn't let it seem angry at all :D no matter how hard you try it to make it seem :O
suzen dangol Its all about the angle of the eye brows and more importantly the size of the pupil at it's vibrancy.
Bigger pupil is mostly less violent. As i have experimented at least
You deserve so much more attention, your an amazing teacher and i hope you hit the 100.000 subscriber mark soon. Thanks for all the great tutorials they really have helped me a lot.
Proko,
This is my first time ever seeing one of you're videos. Great work with this piece. As i was watching the video i felt like the eyes were going a different direction, but made me happy to see that you fix that near the end. The expression fix at that end was a nice touch, made this pop a lot better. Great video.
You inspire me every day my friend, thanks!
My son loves your video ..he's seven and when he will grow up he will be a drawing artist ... good decidion :)
hope he does well in life and he gets a carrier that he enjoys :D
Really hope he succeeds in it. May god help yall
I hope he doesn't see any of this guys figure drawing videos. Nothing against them but they contain inappropriate content for kids :P
Joined 5yrs ago but comment is 6yrs old
how is your son doing
Very impressive to see the 3d dimension take shape. This was enjoyable to watch! Thanks.
This is awesome you are one of the best artists I've ever seen
I note in this video that you seem to know the facial muscles by heart, in order to make the image. Have you got any tutorials that show how facial muscles move?
Why is Jazz good for doing everything you enjoy?
I love the changes to make his expression more angry. The finished product shows no smudges or changes. You, sir, are amazing.
So THAT is what an Orc is supposed to look like! Thank you. This is great stuff.
You should do more fantasy drawing! You get some really good results and who know what interesting things you might come up with?
Cough* For the horde?

I keep trying to make all my drawings look as smooth as possible by evening out the white areas in the dark spots, but this drawing has shown me that not doing that can have just as strong an effect. This shading looks realistic while not needing that blending, which is something I’ll use going forward
When he made the face more 'angry' i shat myself! Good job
Thank you for posting this, you are very talented :) i love your style. cant wait to watch more.
Heyy, you're fantastic proko🤩✨ I've learned a lot from you😄😊❤️
Sketching from imagination is the best. Your art is really impressive.👌
You make it look so effortless
Wonderful and phenomenal .! Thank you
Amazing!! I have learned a lot from this video thanks for sharing

I love drawings like this.
Waiting for your next installment...it's been a week now and I'm going through withdrawal. Btw, love to watch you sketch.
Awesome work, Proko :)
Interesting concept ,and face of a creature such as this .
Thank you. Thats a good tutorial for someone who wants to learn drawing an orc.
Outstanding work, thumbs up!. Reminds me of warcraft II. Yesh me lord!
That got some chill vibes! It is very nice to look at your sketching while relaxing :)
I try to offer some of that content too
great video! I miss you Dude!
Riding thru a city at night with jazz music playin is an experience.
One of my personal favorites, whenever I want inspiration would be a book called Bridgeman's Guide to Drawing from Life. It doesn't get specific about orcs though...
esse cara aterroriza, sensacional!!!
Good drawing thx I learnt a lot you are a amazing artist :)
Hello Proko, the Orc face is awsome great job i just wanted to advice you to add details in your drawings it will bring it to life look better , i say this because i was born with the gift of drawing and my drawings look really good with details practice alot your hand will become a master .

I can't even dream of drawing something like this... This video is making me question my life... Like I do every day...

it's amazing dude
so great!
At first I thought you used a brush :O Great job!
Great work
Lol, when you first started drawing this, I thought you were drawing Beast from Beauty and the Beast:) Thanks for sharing.
maybe you can make a video about your materials? love your art so much! colorpaper princess
wow! so fascinating how was that possible, but anyway nothing is impossible. i love drawing and i would like you to help us with the tools you used in creating that wonderful art.
That's so cool
Amazing!
he looks angry, yet his eyes are so noble... looks amazing
that would be a SICK tattoo!
I love it!!!
great.the tones
Love, love, love this. He sure looks angry! Xx
a beautiful drawing
perfekt! So nice how you painting.
Cool drawing
thank you for share the process. :D
Weak... That's the point! Trying over and over again until you learn it (which takes A LOT OF TIME). Giving up just shows how much passion you have for art. I used to be bad at drawing and had almost no time to practice, but what did I do? Did I give up? Nope, I stayed till 4-5 in the morning drawing gestures nearly every day (night). It doesn't really matter how late it is though the point is, if you want to be able to draw you must first get trough no being able to.
really awesome......................
just perfect
beautiful
Newsprint is quality paper considering the cost, can be pretty good if you use it with intent. It allows for easy erasing as seen in the vid for instance.
Awesome!
Goddamn, mad skills man!
If I could draw something like that I would probably just frame it and let no one touch me because I'm fabulous :))))) really cool
Panselon xD
very good!!
Nice work
I think this whole convo about which is better shows an interesting pitfall of technical facility. Personally I prefer Stan's drawing to the original, I think overall its shape design and structural qualities make it more pleasing to look at, at least for me.
But conversely, having such an established process can detract from the emotional qualities of the image, because you're following process rather than guttural instincts where you throw down 'angry' lines because you just feel them.
Awesome!!
AWESOME
It would be great if you can help me understand difference between carbon and charcoal pencil..
I have trouble with the shadows on the face
did you use a reference for the shadow or you just invented it ??
By the way, awesome videos, im just watching all of it and learning a lot !!!!
he did it himself I think because the right ear needs some more shadow near the side of the head. still a awesome drawing
I saw you in the video that you used your finger to blend in the pencil so you can't see pencil lines.... well do you have Q-tips? Because if yes, you can rub it with the cotton thingy part.
I have never seen anyone hold the pencil like that. Interesting!
Carrey John telling him he's "not an artist" cause he never saw someone hold it like that pfft get over yourself
Carrey John lmaoo you got aggro problems. anyone can be an artist as long as they make art
Carrey John there are a lot of artists who don't even hold a pencil and have no shading but their art is beautiful, statements like that make you sound like a moron.
Very nice! What type of pencil was the shorter one with the long lead? It looked like you could get very dark blacks with that. I'm always looking for that in a pencil.
I don't think I could ever get used to that overhand pencil grip. Is there a video that explains the advantages of it versus normal grip?
Very NICE!
your comment goes great with that profile pic
Blink Dagger haha
Nice Drawing
Are those charcoal pencils? The diameter is massive. The watching of this is instructional on rendering because Proko is using proper technique. I've got some bad habits I need to break, and I like that you can easily see how he uses the sides of the utensil and that the different levels of pressure being applied are easy to determine.
@ Proko: What level of hardness or softness did you use? I can't tell if that's graphite or charcoal. I love that drawing, too. Brings back memories of the work of Larry Elmore and Jeff Easely.
there is a video on his materials and how to sharpen pencils, look in his library
Great!!!!
Look up Gary Faigin, he made a very extensive and detailed book on facial expression, it's pretty good.
Btw, can you do a tutorial on how to sharpen the pencil like that? I always cut the lead^^
WOW!! Awesome! :O
Хорошо рисуешь Прокопенко.)
some people start to drawing from eyes !! man good job
Hi,
Love the orc, but I was wondering if you used the Arches 88 paper or is it just newsprint? Can't really tell by watching the video.
