Several people have already mentioned that you are a great teacher. I feel the same way: you did a wonderful job explaining, visualizing, and clarifying a complex process. I hope you continue to make videos. It would be wonderful to see entire courses from you (e.g. biology, cellular biology, etc.). It's a lot of work, but you have a gift for teaching. ❤
Thank you for this concise yet informative overview of ribosome biosynthesis (genesis?), something not even my paid college professor could do in a 50 min. lecture...
This was so good! Watching this for a med school class. Thank you!!! I hope you make more videos like this. You're really good at explaining complicated stuff in simpler terms :D
RNA folds directly into ribozymes, which behave like proteins but made of raw RNA and not amino acid-peptide chains, which can combine to form ribosomal structures.
Sara Danhoff So does RNA fold into the ribosomal structures in the cytoplasm that are later carried by the mRNA to the nucleolus to combine with rRNA? And if so what type of RNA does this, or is it just any bit or raw RNA?
Wow. You are a fantastic teacher! So glad I found this, can't wait to watch more of your videos. Isn't it just mind boggling how all of this works just like clockwork. Such complicated tasks for mere molecules to perform, and yet they do it and it all works. Unbelieveable!
Where do the original ribosomal sub units in the cytoplasm come from, and how can they be transcribed into protein before an RNA subunit (the site of protein synthesis) is made?
when exactly does the 5s rRNA is attaches to the rest of the pre 60s subunit?(as it is produced outside nucleolus)..does it go inside nucleolus atter getting produced in the nucleoplasm to get associated?
So, we get the rRNA molecule from the rRNA region using RNA polymerase, right? From the video it seems like we just added DNA !genes! of rRNA to proteins, not rRNA molecule itself..
ribosome made in nucleolus with rRNA and some protein, so if ribosome need protein to be made and ribosome is one who makes protein so where did the first ribosome come from.... and also do newly divided cell have ribosome and what happen to organelles after cell division??
that chicken-and-egg question is one of the mysteries of evolution. All we know is that they did evolve; presumably starting with some multi-functional RNA molecules that served multiple functions and the proteins were added in later. there are MANY ribosomes in every cell so when the cell divides they are divvied up more or less equally.
Sazal Sharma it’s produced in the nucleolus of the nucleus through transcription of rDNA into rRNA + modifications those are then processed into the small subunit (18S) and the big subunit (28S and 5.8S and 5s). All these functions are supported by ribosomal proteins.
sorry but you are no different from the college professors. where in the video did you talk about the insights of biogenesis? this is more like a 10th grade video. Dissapointed

Thank you 🙏🏽 ❤

Well, I'm a paid college professor, too.
Your´e explanation, visualization is perfect and now I know how it works. Your video opened my eyes. Thank you!
You truly are an amazing teacher.
This was helpful, thanks! Hopefully it's still up to date ten years later 😊
extraordinary lecture... thanks

Thank you, you saved my life ! It'S 2:00 AM and I was almost going to have a mental breakdown but it finally makes sense :)
So unbelievable watching it 8 years later and still so helpful
Thank you so much for the video. It clarifies everyhting 🙏🏻
If the Ribosomes make their own protein, how was the first Ribosome formed?

not explained well
Thanks. I couldn't figure out if the assembly of the subunits occurred in the nucleolus or just in the nucleus but this cleared it up
Thanks a lot! My mind wandered off when my professor explained about this this afternoon and this video really helps!

I just wanna know why have you stopped making such important videos?
Thank you, very much to the point.
Becouse of new Corona viruse, we couldnt attend to classes on my University. So we didnt have a chance to talk about this.
Thank you very much.
How does the proteins and rRNA in the nucleolus know how to assemble into a Ribosome subunit by themselves?
Thanks a lot for refreshing my mind!
Where do the original ribosomal sub units in the cytoplasm come from, and how can they be transcribed into protein before an RNA subunit (the site of protein synthesis) is made?
this question is sort of asking did the chicken or the egg come first? haha it hurts my head to think too deep into it
what a nice lecture i got insight
This is really excellent, thank you.
when exactly does the 5s rRNA is attaches to the rest of the pre 60s subunit?(as it is produced outside nucleolus)..does it go inside nucleolus atter getting produced in the nucleoplasm to get associated?
Supose we r going to made first ribosome how mrna will be read by ribosome as tthat time wo dont have any ribosome in cytoplasm plz explain
Finially I found the answer to my question .. thank you ^_^
Thank you sooo much for the video
Simple and thorough, this helped a lot, thanks! :)
is that the same thing happen to both small and large ribosome subunit???
Thanks for the video it is very informative
This was so helpful! thank you so much! Doubts all cleared :)

please make a video on how eukaryotic ribosomes are degraded

form which organel is ribosome produced??

Thanks for video
Thank you Madam
How do tRNA are formed ?!
1.25x speed sounds normal lmao
Lol the subtitles say R&A

3:44 You wrote nudes 😆
Bakwas video
