I enjoy your reviews the best. You are very entertaining, funny, and thorough on each figure. I rewatch your videos when I forget how to transform my figures. I am getting old. lol
For being the retool/repaint of the mold, I think Onslaught actually came out the better. Good colors, they only changed as much as they needed to and make an almost entirely new characterization out of the mold. Both the remolding on the chest and the panels making up Brut's chest and groin armor are great G1 references in their design. Just needs an individual rifle so you can leave the cannons on his back where they belong. Or bigger cannons so he can use the individual guns.
Great review, as always. You forgot to show that Bruticus can make his cannons to point forward, becoming shoulders cannon, it also can done when Shockwave is equiped making it look very cool. Another interesting feature of Bruticus is that Onslaught hands can be used as ports for extra shoulder cannons, Onslaught's arms also can be transformed like Hot Spot's for the torso mode, personally I think that it looks better that way because it gives more bulkiness to Bruticus but it is great that we have both transforming options.
His robot mode is great. But I prefer the G1 version of the army truck mode. The original Onslaught truck was big enough to play chicken with Optimus prime like I did as a boy.
So this set gives us: -2 re-molds, one of which , despite looking decent, was too bulky for the character -2 re-paints (I don't count Blast-Off becoming a jet as a re-mold because it's just done so they don't have to make an actual shuttle) -1 new mold that looks horrible Yeah, Bruticus kind of got the shaft in this line, it seems. Onslaught and Swindle look alright, even if the Rook mold is too beefy for Swindle, and that's about it. And if Megatron wastes all the Combaticons, at least Vortex will be easy to replace.
Freakin toys. What I dig about these things is the engineering, even the use of the same mold. But then you also have the art involved. For me, that makes them more than just toys. But some of them just fall on their face. Some of them....literally. Enjoying the videos. Beats the snot out of the instructions. Keep up the good work dood. You've cost me a lot of money.
I think there were a bunch of defects with Onslaught. I had the same issue with his leg port and ended up returning him for a replacement. The other one ends up with the leg ports working, but his left arm can't bend at all! I'm hoping the second wave that is releasing with Skylynx fixes these issues.
0:05 *claps* I have to say though, Onslaught is the one saving grace in the pathetic, crappy failure that is this wave. Honestly, I think I'll just get him alone, and keep the rest of my FoC Combaticons, as at least it will give me an excuse to keep them out of combine mode, as I slightly prefer them as a team than a combiner.
I think the brawl leg is the main problem as to why Bruticus doesn't stand right. Were you able to trim the excess plastic inside Onslaught's leg? Onslaughts "cabs" should've been a bit larger to match the back and should've had different cannons from Hotspot. Other than that, He's pretty cool!!
I like the review you did for CW Onslaught. Also, I like the quick Mini story at the end was funny. I like the honest opinion you give your reviews. Some may disagree, others may agree all in all. For me, I both like and dislike This mold is a retool.but at the same time, good since it's not a just a repaint. Hasbro had too many QC issues these days with their products. Which is pointed out quite true. The good part is, you gave an honest review about it. I saw some reviews only give praise to toys, even if they really know it's that bad. Just because of sponsors sometimes. Yeah, they are just plastic toys, but these plastic toys make us happy. They are not just collectibles, they are our childhood that we grow up with and we have our own perspective on how we see them and not to go overboard about it as just collectibles too. Again, Great review sir!
+Project: [DARK Corp]! it's not really fair to say other reviewers praise stuff because of sponsors because you don't know for a fact that that's true. people have their own taste and preferences and standards so a figure that you might think is horrible someone else might love and think is amazing. doesn't mean they're wrong and doesn't mean they're lying. at the end of the day you have to remember that it's your money that you're spending so the only opinion that really matters is yours.
on my hotspot his right thigh slides off when I swivel it and the ratchet going outwards on his legs are perfect, they've a half click between straight and small split
Least I'm not the only one who had that leg issue with combination. I thought it was just the spring being out of alignment. I didn't look into the part to see if anything was obstructing it though, just forced it in and it works. Also, CW Onslaught looks better than the Warbotron Knock Off. Third party is ugly, this thing looks decent if not good. I know some would argue CW Onslaught is ugly, but looks are a matter of opinion anyways, so meh. The aesthetic just doesn't appeal to me for Warbotron, while the real stuff does have that aesthetic I like.
Something about this set just doesn't do it for me for some reason. I've enjoyed the other "proper" combiners in this series. Maybe it's mold fatigue, or maybe it's because I really like the FoC (+MT) set. :/
I was collecting these when I was younger. I noticed, after I purchased Onslaught, that his name on the box was misspelled. It said "Onslsaught" instead.
I ordered myself this guy today... Though, as can't find Combaticons, I need to improv with limbs. For arms, thought to use Terrorcons Cutthroat and Blot, and for Legs Stunticons Dead End and Breakdown...
With your Bruticus slumping the way he is, it makes me think that Hasbro's going for a Frankenstein's Monster motif for the combiner. On a related note: Did you have issues with one of Onslaught's shins not locking properly into his thigh whilst he's in combiner mode? I had to pick up a second Hot Spot that had this problem and I was wondering if that issue was corrected with Big Ol' Bruticus. Great review, as always!
Defensor has worse posture. I combined him (video tomorrow) and he leaded forward. I tilted him back one click, and he looked at the sky. it's terrifying.
i think the alpha bravo mold Works for vortex i mean unlike blast off he look like vortex and if you no want to have five alpha bravo just no buy victorion or sell your alpha bravo and buy slingshot
Both him and Hot Spot are missing a waist joint, at least I think so. I think the tires on the legs would look better on the outside. Also one could keep them in while the other sports them out, to change their looks just a little bit more. I've seen some people have issues with Onslaught's head tabbing into the chest plate, have you had any issues?
Am I the only one that sees this guy getting repainted as Scattershot at some point? I mean, it would probably work best with the Original Cybertron Scattershot because the back guns, but it could also work with the Cybertron defense voyager, or hell, that could be the combined mode torso, if that doesn’t happen, then maybe I’ll do it myself
I would put it upside down don't hate me but it would be like a tunnel scene but probably I would have onslaught infround brawl a little behind on right swindle left and the other one top
have u noticed that onslaught can be a chibi version of Bruticus? Just fold his head down and put up the big head lol. Btw, 2 tiny pipes (I'm pretty sure they are pipes or exhaust cuz I dont c Bruticus use them in any show or game) can be fold up to form shoulders cannons. Good luck having fun with the ugly flat and giant back pack design. Fun to play with and affordable anyway :D
Does he work better for the legs are rotated so that the purple bits at the top of his legs are facing front? I saw the picture for the Perfect Effect upgrade parts for him and it seems to me that he poses alot better that way.
Hi emgo! Just wanted to say your reviews are the best. I know your not that interested on CW 3rd party upgrades, but I really do hope you make a video review for the Bruticus upgrade made by Transform Dreamwave when it comes out. More power to ya. You rock!!!
hey, emgo, can you review g1 bruticus, I mean,I saw mitchsantonas rewiew, but it didn't have the flare you have in your vids, but keep up the gr8 work, and comedy that you do, YOU DA BEST!

Bruticus is looking for autobots that is why he leans forward...
Juan Soto BRUTICUUSSS!!!
so
Bruticus is sad there's no Autobots to smash
My soundwave leaned really bad. Like he was drunk with scoliosis.

Favorite combiner ever.
Thanks Emgo for being the only reviewer I've seen so far who's shown me how the knees work!
Sad Bruticus = Broodicus?
Thew is one of my favorite reviewers, along with emgo!
How about Blue-dicus? Get it?

I feel like the trip at the end was accidental but made the scene even funnier. TRIPPING FROM ANGER.
bow before the might of BRUTICUS
stormtrooper 1138 bow before the might of- AHCOOOO
Onslaught: "You'll need a bigger door!!"
Omg😂
Now I absolutely *have* to display Onslaught in vehicle mode, upside down, and in the air.
Hey.....call me crazy , but I think thats.....ALPHA BRAVO!!!

I just realized there are 4 alpha brovos! omg now we need a torso thats also a helicopter which can be named charlie.
Why charlie
Alpha bravo, tango bravo, delta bravo, Charlie bravo, foxtrot bravo.
You're a genius
And the combined form'll be named delta tango
His robot mode is great. But I prefer the G1 version of the army truck mode. The original Onslaught truck was big enough to play chicken with Optimus prime like I did as a boy.
"that's the last time I'm going to make that joke" [two seconds later] "it's alpha bravo"
MY TRUST IS GONE
My favorite kind of onslaught toy
Is anyone gonna make hip ratchet replacements for Defensor, Bruticus, and Victorion? I hate how the mold leans forward.
So this set gives us:
-2 re-molds, one of which , despite looking decent, was too bulky for the character
-2 re-paints (I don't count Blast-Off becoming a jet as a re-mold because it's just done so they don't have to make an actual shuttle)
-1 new mold that looks horrible
Yeah, Bruticus kind of got the shaft in this line, it seems. Onslaught and Swindle look alright, even if the Rook mold is too beefy for Swindle, and that's about it.

6:01 "Just as long as the G1 Onslaught"- that very worrying.
I think personally blastoff looks good as a jet
memey Linguine especially on the G2 repaint set
Agree, it fits better with the Combaticons military theme.
0:05 *claps*
I have to say though, Onslaught is the one saving grace in the pathetic, crappy failure that is this wave. my first and only review so far was onslaught I was inspired by emgo thank you soo much

great video review. I look forward to acquiring them and adding them to my other combiners
Bructicus:I will no longer give you order starscream!!
Starscream:no no don't smash me please aaaaaah!
Funny...my Motormaster has a hip joint reduced to friction. I notice that the hip collapses a bit, but it kinda works...
on my hotspot his right thigh slides off when I swivel it and the ratchet going outwards on his legs are perfect, they've a half click between straight and small split
I actually wanted Michael Bay to make the body type in the movie like this, so I can just do a repaint on it.
I love how accurate Emgos Bruticus impression is. Best canon aspect of G1 is that Bruticus is the dumbest of the three original decepticon combiners
Least I'm not the only one who had that leg issue with combination. I thought it was just the spring being out of alignment. You know they made a better blastoff for potp selects so... you gonna do a review for that?
Nope. Fine with what I got
emgo316 ok then sorry for bugging you
the voices you give the characters is why I think you have the funniest reviews ever
Let the slaughter begin!!!
Hi!
I love what you do.
And I'm a french fan ! :D
Since no one else said it, "PELVIC THRUST OF VIOLATION!!! UGH UGH UNNN!!"
Really hope someone remembers it.
from the pictures that I saw, the helicopters were quite remolded for vitorytrion
Sorry, but the "It's....it's....Alpha Bravo", NEVER gets old!
Onslaught is the only one I need left!
whos a remold of who!? onslaught or hotspot... cuz hotspot looks a lot like the original onslaught molds.
I was collecting these when I was younger. I noticed, after I purchased Onslaught, that his name on the box was misspelled. It said "Onslsaught" instead.
For my onslaught inferno and hot spot of this mold I just took out all of the ratchets and just tightened the joint's
I ordered myself this guy today... Though, as can't find Combaticons, I need to improv with limbs. For arms, thought to use Terrorcons Cutthroat and Blot, and for Legs Stunticons Dead End and Breakdown...

BRAVO! BRAVO! 👏👍
Defensor has worse posture. I combined him (video tomorrow) and he leaded forward. I tilted him back one click, and he looked at the sky. it's terrifying.
out of curiosity emgo did you ever fix that excess plastic problem on BRUTICUS?
This looks a whole lot better then I thought, Awesome!!
i think the alpha bravo mold Works for vortex i mean unlike blast off he look like vortex and if you no want to have five alpha bravo just no buy victorion or sell your alpha bravo and buy slingshot
need to do a comparison of Onslaught and Defensor.
i just wish AB had gotten a bit of a retool so we could get the arm-blade bruticus is known for
Both him and Hot Spot are missing a waist joint, at least I think so. I think the tires on the legs would look better on the outside. that is crazy funny em, the long wait was worth it!!!

Omg, thank you. I could not figure out the knees. Out of the box, a cool wind would knock him over.
Great video! And honestly, I'd be a disappointed Bruticus too if I had Awkward Ab-Crunch Brawl, Blast Off? Eh, Blast Off. And......it's Alpha Bravo.
I would put it upside down don't hate me but it would be like a tunnel scene but probably I would have onslaught infround brawl a little behind on right swindle left and the other one top
@emgo316 it's not Blast Off, but his replacement, Quickslinger.
21:07
Is it just me, or does his legs look kinda short?
J Holbrook if you want swap the hands for the legs and the he’s taller it less stable
@@Gingie47 think about what you just said.
No.
Sorry it was just a suggestion
@@Gingie47 it's ok.
It's just not a good suggestion. (No offense)
Hey em just use a hobby knife to chip away the extra plastic. awesome review bro!
have u noticed that onslaught can be a chibi version of Bruticus? Just fold his head down and put up the big head lol. do a full review of all the bots that combine individually in the same video
Yeah this mould was always made for onslaught
The blue part that connects to the grey part and the shoulder is loose on mine, any fixes or suggestions that don't require getting a new one?
I have the exact same problem in his leg with the plastic in the combiner bit. Please tell me how you fixed it. I would be so grateful.
Megs just had a Kylo Ren tantrum in the rec room all over those Combaticons... :)
Can you make a bruticus version like when you put a little story or whatever at the end
did megs kill all of onslaughts team?

you should do a toyroom tour of your collection
If Takara wasn't doing a set with Blastoff as a shuttle, the jet version doubt be a deal breaker. I've got the set pre-orders from TFSource.
it would have been great if they made that Alpha Bravo is in fact Vortex, infiltrated in Autobot ranks.
I NEED THIS FIGURE SO BADLY
who is your favorite Hotspot or onslaught Hu it rimmed
hey, emgo, can you review g1 bruticus, I mean,I saw mitchsantonas rewiew, but it didn't have the flare you have in your vids, but keep up the gr8 work, and comedy that you do, YOU DA BEST!
Any idea on how to get the excess plastic out of the combination mode leg?
emgo I can't find a replacement card for the original version do you no where I can?
i have my own one step thunderhoof with a combiner wars tiny prime skywarp and cliffjumper
Which Shockwave is in this video? I’d like to purchase it.
Don't mess with Megatrons Burrito cravings lol idk if I should continue Perusing this set I do have three out of five already... Just want my star scream figure to have his combined with him lol
The figure alone is adequate, hell of alot better than FOC. I even like
him better than the Microblaze upgrade, which I already got handsome
returns from. So the figure stock is a pretty great, with shortcomings,
which were cured by the $30-40 Perfect Combiner kit. It takes some
time to finagle him just right, but the end result will be pleasing.
That and I had some spare parts and I made a custom gun for em. I
removed Onslaught's forearms and plugged in the CW Cyclonus gun (x2) to
the pivoting black thingy to replace the back cannons. These
customizations are unavoidable if I was going to do as intended. Which
is fine for me, as I have no intention to ever not display him as
Bruticus. The individual robots are awful, in my honest fact. I took
it maybe a step too far and burned their heads in effigy. Now the
change is permanent! JK I put them away so I could make his shoulders
more G1 and get full spinnage on the rotors. Heads were obstructive, on mine atleast. Effect is the same,
though, I'll never need them.
Note: I use the alternate transformation, where you angle the tires so they face out the back (pretty much stop at the 2nd to last step on the sheet)
Textwall over, point being, don't give up on this Bruticus, because if you don't, you *will* grow to love em. And thats really what its all about, getting your money's worth. It will take some extra's though, but I assure, its worth it. Milton, out!
question how tall is shockwave compared to swindle in robot mode?
If you attach shockwave to the back of BRUTICUS, he will not lean forward that much
At least Victorion's Alpha Bravos have remolds, even if just the arms.
