As for my opinion, well, when it comes to "Adventure" bikes, they are not about looks but for overall "RIDING" purposes/ a "riding tool". Also, beauty/ looks is very personal/ subjective
The 900 engine is ok-ish, for those that don't mind driving a 15,000E bike with an engine made in China. 2 years ago a well specced 1250GS could've been found for ~16,000E new/at the dealer with tons of extras. Silly how this fakeflation has almost doubled the price on everything. Looks good though, much better than the R1300GS.
Just tested one today..considering to buy. 1st touch and i felt like i drove one before even tho it was 1st bmw ever. They feel like they are yours at first touch . ..but this thing is like a vibrator ...vibrates so bad :( The rest i like...feel verry verry light ,ezzzzzzz like a supermoto to ride , more power than anyone need , nice clutch ...the quickshifter mehh i don t need it , it work with tork and for that u can change gear without haveing quickshifter . But vibrations jezz they are bad and the seat forgot about the seat if u can call it seat it s more like a wood bench , a think and narrow one :) Cheers

Great review Scott! Wow, things have dramatically changed from when I had the F800GS! Wow, this is completely different & new! Too many children will stop me getting another one, so I think the little CFMoto 450MT will suffice. Thanks!
It’s a great looking bike as is the Tiger Rally Pro. I’m with you on the brakes. The Tiger has way better brakes. Vibration is a key thing for me and why I steered away from the Tiger. The buzz at higher revs bothered me. My KTM 890 does vibrate but not as much plus I can “forgive” a twin but not a triple. Then again I have a 701 Enduro which puts it in perspective.
G'day Scott, you were A LOT MORE enthusiastic about the '24 Tiger 900 Rally Pro and I can't blame you at all; way better QS (the best on the market IMHO), better looks, better sound (BMW sounds like a wet fart), better brakes etc etc..... Cheers from The Netherlands
Still keeping my older 2010 F800GS. It's lighter, good fuel efficiency from 16L, is better balanced then the newer models with the under seat tank, and has no extra electronic crap to make poor riders better. It is sad that BMW can not smooth out the engine vibes. Mine has vibes around 4000rpm which slipon foam handlebar grips fixes. Come on BMW.
Thanks for the (as ever) honest review, Scott! Some issues are attractive on this 900 but I’ll stick to my 850 for now. I still do like it too much and I don’t do offroad on a €20K bike 😉. IMO the Triumph Tiger feels completely different due to the 3-cyk. engine. I had a Tiger 800 but I do like the BMW twin much more. Never rode a Tiger 900 however.
Have you ridden the new TransAlp? I know the price bracket isn't the same but I'm cross shopping both! How does it compare? I'm coming from a 2016 F800GS with 75,000 miles so I'd also be curious to hear how it compares there too!
Definitely a nice bike. However, was riding BMW’s about 18years but I am not willing to pay that price for a bike with an engine made in China. Out of question. Since 3 years now I am riding Moto Guzzi and use it for everyday ride (about 15000km/year). No trouble so fare and happy with my choice. A real bike with character.
I think the 2024 Triumph 900 Rally Pro is way better.

I like the way you explain/review motorcycles bro. Good job ^^. If you have time and opportunity, can you go for 2024 f800gs with standard premium pack? It is the cheapest, lowest standard seat and the smallest one (kind a). Also I m really looking a some comments between 900xr and new 2024 800gs (both included premium packs) (Even written comments are more than enough). Yes I know kind a different style but pricing with premium packs are close enough. I'm one step away from buying the 2024 900xr.
If you are never going on dirt, the XR will be better for road with slightly more power than the F800 and 17” front. While the adventure bike style is quite comfortable, I think the new adventure sports models like the XR (900 & 1000 variants) are better suited to those who never venture into dirt. If you will hit dirt roads once in a while, the F800 is a good option. If you will hit more seasonal dirt roads or some trails, the F900GS or KTM 890R are better options still in the adventure range. I’ve taken my R1200GSA on single track and while it can do it, it’s a lot of weight to manage if you drop it, but I’d never consider taking my S1000R on dirt roads..
I like the look of the 900 but I don’t ride off road so it wouldn’t be for me. I have several GS models including a 750 that I enjoy more than my 1250, it rides really well one or two up and I never find it wanting for more power. Out of all my bikes I would have considered the new F800GS but as it’s no different apart from a slight increase in power with more cc’s then it would seem pointless. I had hoped they would have been more bold and updated the front suspension added some of the weight loss changes from the 900 and maybe changed to the 900 headlight but everything apart from the slight engine change is exactly the same.
I LOVE the new R1300GS, but not the new F-900GS, which appears to be mainly focused for offroad use (also, as you mentioned its lack of good wind protection - and to my eyes no apparent place for luggage, and a "so, so quick-shifter"). I was hoping BMW would have come out with something more like the do-it-all Honda 750 Transalp but more refined, with all the bells & whistles/ electronics (hey, this is just my opinion)
You need to compare the 900GS with the KTM 890R. My R1200GSA can do a lot of dirt, and the R1300GS, while lighter than the previous water cooled models is still heavier than my oil cooled GS. To improve over my current GS for dirt use, I’d have to go with either the 900GS or the KTM 890R. Both have the same power, similar weight, but KTM is known for their suspension. I’m even considering a KTM 690 Enduro to get a wider spread over my current GS.
This 900 GS is such an iteresting bike and will probably be a tough competitior to the T7 and waaay better quality that the Aprilia Touareg wich i really like..
@@kowalski2334 in other news the f900gs is getting even closer to being an alternative to the big gs. It's only 5hp less than the 2004-2012 r1200gs and its lighter.
Nice and informative video as always. I would like your opinion, for road use only which would you prefer? Triumph 900 GT pro ( not the rally) or the new 2024 GS 800?? Thank you anyway!
Well, any off-road I'd take the 900GS over the AT but with DCT, then I'd take that for road. Either way both bikes are very good, you might want to consider the dealer too, which one you like better than the other...etc. good luck Scott
For the First time EVER! I think the Smaller 900GS Looks better than the Big Boy 1300

How do you find the tall screen - does it offer protection from buffeting any better than the standard screen?
Is Showa important for this bike? I want to use my bike usually on road and when I will want to use it for offroad it will be just paths.

Could you please review BMW F 800 GS?
That's a good looking bike. The wind noise, engine vibrations and high price make it less awesome than it could be.
“Off road” has such different meanings in Europe, Alaska, and South America
Depends which EUDSSR country, though 😂
Is the engine part of the chassis ???
Yep, bridge frame, just like before.
@@NothingToProveWhat is your opinion on that?
The tiny fuel tank on an adv bike is laughable. It is the best lookimg bike out there, but looks only get you so far.

Good to have a drone.
They do this titanium nitride coating because the EU is going to ban chrome(plating). They are probably testing a replacement with this bike.
The GSA is now 90% focused on road than the F900 GS instead of the other way around.
The drone might provide some nice shots if it's something dealt with not too much fussing about I guess.

same - since 2007 all of the parallel twins have been made there.
The tank is too small, the engine has too much power for off road use and the engine sounds like every nut and bolt is loose.

Copying the Aprilia Tuareg livery, gold rims, coated gold forks. Nothing original here.
Plus they are charging extra for ride modes like KTM does.
Umm...BMW was putting those things on GS's & other BMW's long before the Tuareg ever existed. So who is copying who?
