I have to say Jang, this is why i love your reviews; you point out all the simplest details, you pay attention to everything, you can really tell you genuinely love what you are doing. Other channels, sometimes feel like they aren't so into it and only review things they need to. You look at things as we would, like when you pointed out the moving gun then got all excited by it like we would and its great. i have a whole new appreciation from this model because of this video, keep up what you are doing man
I was having my doubts about buying this beforehand but after watching your review and seeing a rather in depth look of the model I realise its an absolute must have, so I'll most definetely snag that set up myself.
The part at the beginning of the vid where you do the speed build while talking about it's structure; sublime! Please do that more often... only when it's applicable, of course. Anywho, thank you for yet another fantastic video.
This is just such a beautiful UCS! From the shaping to all the little details, this is just so beautiful! Can't wait to find out what the 2018 UCS will be!
The control of the turret from the cockpit was intentional. If you move your body left you will have your vision obstructed on the left side, but the right side will have more vision
Yay this video is up! I've been watching builds, including yours, (sped up and real time) and reviews of this over the past few days on a bunch of channels and I was so excited for your thoughts on the set Jang! I love this model but I could only afford one UCS set so I got the Slave 1 for the May the 4th promotion. I've been living vicariously through all the youtube builds and reviews of the T-47 to make up for it. :) I love the build and final result of the cannons (specifically the angling) and the upper engines + flaps. The whole thing looks so cool. You showed how smooth the opening and closing mechanism is for the upper air brakes and another build/review I watched showed how you could keep turning the thrusters in the same direction without locking up or damaging the mechanism and I'm always amazed when people manage to design LEGO mechanisms so well. There was a designer interview that I read about where the angle of the back was discussed. They know they got it wrong compared to the movie, but it wasn't a mistake - they described it as an artistic liberty that they thought looked and built better. I actually kind of like this look better but I can understand the fans of this craft who are disappointed that the designers made that change. One thing many people mentioned but I noticed you did not was how flimsy/finicky/troublesome the front panel pieces were. The angles there are rough to get and it looks quite good on display but it seemed like a lot of people were annoyed/frustrated by how easily those inside downward triangle panels came off when trying to angle them just right to fit properly. Did you not have that problem or did it just not really matter since it's mostly a display piece and you don't have to basically ever touch those panels? Another criticism I've seen a lot is just how many stickers there are in this set. Some of them seem totally necessary, like the framing on the cockpit glass since they will probably want to put out those new pieces for a bunch of stuff, but it seems like a lot of the warning text and maybe consoles could have been printed, especially with such a large/expensive set. The consoles in particular seem mostly generic enough that investing in the prints doesn't seem like a huge cost, but I have no idea how to production side of a set like this works. Basically all the console stickers in the cockpit except the AT-AT foot targeting would have been great to have as printed pieces in other sets and for custom stuff. Thank you for the upload and for sharing this set with the many of us who can't get it (at least right now!). :D
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I had no trouble personally with the forward angled panels and getting them to the correct angle, where they fit quite well and stay in place without any fussing. Fiddling with the model now to follow up, I can confirm that you can't lift the whole model up by those panels (don't know why anyone would want to), but otherwise they seem to fit & work perfectly for me. I can intentionally take them out of position or off entirely and put them back exactly as they're intended in seconds.
Hmm, maybe the ball joints and/or sockets were just not as great for some people, or they were a bit rough with the plate connection there? From what I saw in the builds and the instructions it looks like it would be fine as long as you don't put much pressure there or like you said try to hold up any weight from that area, but I also saw them come off when people were attaching the wing pieces. Thank you for responding though! It's great to get more peoples' experience with it. Either way that one thing wouldn't stop me from getting the set if I could. Out of curiosity and if you don't mind me asking, will you be keeping the build together for display or harvesting those sweet sweet parts for custom stuff? That new canopy piece seems so very useful for all sorts of things, especially without the stickers, but it seems like such a sweet display model too.
Yeah I simply folded mine slightly away when attaching the wings the first time as that's what felt intuitive, but when I re-did the same a couple times to get the shot for the rubber band in this review I didn't have to move the little panels at all and they gave me no grief. Absolute non-issue for me. {shrug} Currently debating what to do with the set next. I believe the anti-hoarding background processes in my brain are going to win as they usually do and this will be disassembled.
I LOVE the brief inclusion of a speed build to display some of the design aspects. I might recommend using small speed build sections to quickly describe interesting model characteristics in all of your videos. It really worked well, and you don't have to do the whole thing to get the point across. EDIT* What a brilliant level of attention to detail. I'm totally blown away by the fact that the guns converge; that angle is very slight. Reminds me of the fighter design from WWII and how all 4 of the Hawker Hurricane's guns converged at a preset distance, which was the optimal engagement distance. The more I watch your UCS reviews, it is clear to me that each one is very special in their own way. You do an excellent job at bringing that out, Jang!
I just bought this model because the Lego sight states this model will be retiring soon. This model just came out last year! A year and a half isn't long. I guess it's not been a big seller. I had to scrape moolas together and I'll be eating tons of ramen before it goes into retirement. >.> Okay, I'm a bit exaggerating on that last part, but money will be a bit tight for the next little bit. I'm just grateful that Lego warns people ahead of time a model is going to be retired soon.
Fun fact: The Will Scotian minifig was actually listed as Kit Valent (Zev Senesca's gunner in Rogue Two at Hoth) at SW celebration '17. Scotian was a pilot who flew as Blue Four at Hoth, so I'm using the fig as Kit Valent in :)
I do want to add, if you get the pleasure of building the older one, it is a really fun build. As an owner of all the old UCS sets it is in my top 3 favorite builds of the older sets. Its amazing what they accomplished with a lot of brick built parts!
Am I the only one that isn't bothered by the blue technic pins or small red axles? I know it bothers others, but if anything I like the inclusion of a small bit of color to keep models form being all one color. I can see a large bright yellow/orange/red part being out of place but the small technic ones don't bother me in any way. I'm glad they don't have 10 colors of each of those parts.
Personally I love this set and I appreciate your review and pointing out the cool building experience and design elements. Thanks, Jang - great review. Can't wait to get my own!
I have this set displayed in my collection. I flubbering love this set. I cannot state how much this set has made me satisfied. Other than the UCS Death Star II, this is easily my favorite set. The new 2017 Falcon may be much more grand and can be argued “better” than this set. But, I fell in love with the build and visual awesomeness this set has.
Hi Jang, Another great review, thanks for the time you devote to this. I was undecided about this set but your comments have, once again, helped me to reach a decision. Unlike Slave One, this set won't take pride of place on my limited display shelf. I am interested in the build but not enough to pay £170 if the display value isn't there. thanks again, you are appreciated and inspirational.
The Gaming Bagel That would cost probably around 500 bucks, since the "small" normal version costs over 100€ I wish they would make the republican V-Wing as an UCS set.
This review convinced me to buy my this T-47 as my first UCS model. I've been watching your other videos as I wait for the mail. Thanks for the great content!
The new windshield piece is going to be useful, that's a very good piece to have, and it's always nice to get a new mold to play with. the model is absolutely perfect. I am very impressed with the details included, especially those ice skates. The lower wing assemblies came as a huge surprise, lego usually leaves the bottoms of their models pretty open if they can. Nice to see they didn't think that going cheap would pay off on this model. it definitely looks the price.
this is a great set to build! very easy as well. such a great design and solid build, as you said. had to have this the day it came out. 4 people bought them within 10 minutes of the lego store opening on may 4, not including me. great video. thanks
I bought this this today at the LEGO store in Disney springs, or as us locals call it, Downtown Disney. It's a beautiful model and looks good next to the UCS Slave 1 and UCS R2-D2.
As a Lego set this is extremely well done, but some of the flaws in its accuracy to the "real" thing are hard to ignore. The cockpit is ridiculously detailed and feels like the most detailed in a UCS set to date and the control yoke actually effecting the rear turret is definitely the highlight for me. The "Lego Math" Jang showed for the rear of the canopy is brilliant. On the outside of the model, the way they surrounded the internal mechanisms for the airbrakes with greebling was a very elegant way of allowing the gears to feel less obvious. The slight inward angle of the cannons is unexpected and maybe even unnecessary, but I love that they did it anyway. It's curious, however, how a thing that might not be noticed by the average fan was given such a priority but the inaccuracy of the rear housings was ignored even though it's far more obvious. I'd have to say I'm lukewarm about the elastic technique used to fine tune the angle of the undersides. Those elastic bands are an official part in Lego's inventory, BUT... I'm thinking that if I had created a MOC that required an elastic, what if I didn't have an "Official Lego Elastic". Hypothetically, If I grabbed an elastic from my house somewhere that had the same elasticity, would that not be an illegal technique? It opens up a bit of a can of worms for me. As for the minifigs, I'm not sure why they didn't just use Luke and Dak if they were going to include them. Two side, side, side characters as Jang calls them, lol, is hardly appropriate for a set of this scope. Overall I'd give this set a B minus owing in large part to the complexity of the build itself.
JANG, thank you for making such good quality Lego reviews. It really helps me when I am deciding which Lego sets I should buy, and which Lego sets I shouldn't buy.
Ordered mine at 12:01 May 4th, and Lego shipped it that day within a few hours and is arriving already this afternoon (May 6th). I have never ordered something from Lego that has shipped that quickly (I live in VA). I am one of those who think Lego has increased in quality all around including customer service! Great review as always.
What a great review! I ordered one and am looking forward to the build. One of my all time favorite Star Wars vehicles. I enjoyed your take on this, thanks!
I think it would be cool to take inspiration from the rear diffuser to do that on a building. if you go to large buildings they always have that slotted venting along the sides or back of the building like in an alley. mainly you would see this on hotels or buildings with underground parking. just an idea. overall I really like the set. I can't afford to buy the UCS sets and starwars isn't my main Lego theme to collect. but I really like this one.
It's always looked a light grey in the movie to me. But that might be because I'm basing it off of the action figure toy and a copy of the movie I saw the most, which was a vhs copy of the film before all the edits. Again, it's a very minor thing, and a nitpick from me. Now that I've looked at other pictures from google, I can see the white working.
ZBTEproductions yes I know, its called stone grey, but as you said it's rare and would be impractical to produce so I didn't feel the need to bring it up.
Almost none of the new sets like the new Death Star, Luke's land speeder and landos awing as well as this are out in Australia which sucks. I really want this set
Lego, if you're reading this: UCS Luke's Land Speeder, please. It has to be the most iconic vehicle from Star Wars that has NOT been made into a UCS set.
Still on the fence on this one. My 4 and 6 year old son inspired Lego Renaissance began a couple years ago so I missed out on many of the UCS kits (unfortunately the Y-Wing and B-Wing). While iconic to me, I feel the Snowspeeder is really one of the best and most scale kits that Lego has done in minifigure scale. Still your video shows this kit off to great effect! Thanks for all your great videos! They have made my adult return to the world of Lego all the more enjoyable! BTW - that wasn't you at the Hillsdale Lego Store on 4 May was it?
I know it's a pet peeve of yours, Jang, but I personally find the little bits of yellow pieces showing through as part of Lego's charm. I'm unsure as to why, though.
Prior to US release. This set was on display at SW Celebration. I immediately knew I wanted it and noticed some RUclipsrs got it prior to release, not sure what the requirements are but would be cool if your channel got consideration in the future.
I know JANG had a blog post a while back addressing this. Sure he's been offered multiple things like that in the past, and he did receive the Scooby-Doo sets early, he prefers to buy the sets himself so he has no obligations to the company and he can say his honest, unbiased opinions about them. I'd try to give you a link, but I couldn't seem to find the post in question.
Makes sense, thanks for your response. I normally keep my views to Jangs SW reviews. One of the reasons I like his channel is his honesty and unbiased viewpoints. I really believe Lego should hire Jang as a consultant. Dry humor and all 👍
It's Wes Janson. I have a snowspeeder built from a model kit and painted the figures to be Wedge and Wes. It's been autographed by both Denis Lawson (Wedge) and Ian Liston (Janson)
Over the past 2yrs I have bought all 3. As Connor said....... Tie fighter first as it's about to retire. If you can only buy one get the slave 1..... If that's your thing.
I'm glad this came out. it fills my need for it without shelling out the cash for the original. I just started collecting star wars ucs with the release of the tie Fighter. so needless to say if I want other retired ucs builds it'll cost me a mortgage payment. come on Millennium Falcon and Deathstar 2
Chris Downs. As a lucky collector who has all of the old UCS sets I feel for newer collector's such as yourself. The builds for the older snowspeeder and ds2 are so much fun that I frequently lend mine out for other people to experience the builds! If you do somehow get the opportunity to get those great sets, you won't be disappointed!
UCS Collector There are so many I want to do Imperial star destroyer and the super star Destoyer are among my top with ds2 and Falcon. I do hope they bring some of these sets out of retirement to get new fans involved. I can't believe I didn't discover these years ago.
Eh, there were some UCS sets that haven't aged well, like the first speeder, so I'm all for them getting updated. But the Falcon was pretty much perfect, so I'd prefer new sets over a barely improved update like the latest DSII playset
Strand while I agree with you that some rebel star ships would be cool. one main reason a falcon would be cool though is check out ebay and those prices. These are legos were talking about 6g is 300× the original price which is just f'ed up. I'm all for collecting but that kind of return is unnecessary
hey there Jang! BIG FAN! On many of these UCS models Lego includes a description panel for the stand. One of the models i have is the newest Sandcrawler set 75059. and i was surprised after building it, to notice that although it is a UCS model, it did not come with a display plaque. i tried calling support for Lego and the person i spoke to did not have a reason. Do you know why the UCS Sandcrawler 75059 does not have a display plaque?
***** boooooo! Haha im not pissed, i just dont understand why a plaque was not designed and distributed with the Sandcrawler if it was considered a UCS set.
Including mini-figs was just not right for this set. Because you can’t do much with them in UCS only some workout with mini-figs, look at the size of that cockpit!
Here's the longer version of the build timelapse: ruclips.net/video/l_F6Yc0L-p4/видео.html
I hope that they make the at at walkers in lego
Voltage Owl They did. Multiple times now.
Uhm dude, there have been several versions... including a UCS model
really like massive ones or
The motorized one may be considered by LEGO to be UCS but considering it's at the same scale as all the others I don't think many fans will.
I have to say Jang, this is why i love your reviews; you point out all the simplest details, you pay attention to everything, you can really tell you genuinely love what you are doing.
If they ever decided to make an AT-AT to scale with this Snowspeeder, it's going to be HUGE!!! (But I doubt they ever will...) Awesome review, Jang!
It would be like 2-3 meters tall. Impossible is an understatement.
But not impossible for someone who likes to create MOCs, you just need the right parts and lots of patience!
I wasn't expecting the control yoke that was actually linked to the harpoon gun and could control it. That's a VERY nice touch!
The control of the turret from the cockpit was intentional. If you move your body left you will have your vision obstructed on the left side, but the right side will have more vision
that's correct. It's like there's a pivot at the center
Yay this video is up! 2 months later and the set is still in stock, I really don' what they mean by retiring soon but whatever.
That cockpit looks so confy for a lego figure.

Actually, Jang, I believe that the gunners yolk and the rear gun movement is accurate. If I remember correctly, the movement is reversed in the film.
Best part of this video is your little LEGO pointer arrow. Nice.
Impressive, most impressive!
Hi Jang,
Another great review, thanks for the time you devote to this.
WE NEED A UCS AT-AT!
The Gaming Bagel That would cost probably around 500 bucks, since the "small" normal version costs over 100€
I wish they would make the republican V-Wing as an UCS set.
Now all we need is a ucs at at to the same scale
This review convinced me to buy my this T-47 as my first UCS model. I've been watching your other videos as I wait for the mail. Thanks for the great content!
Kareem Mishalani Should be bought the Slave 1

I had to choose between this and Slave 1. Saw your Slave 1 review and it was a no brainer. I went for Slave 1. Awesome set.
John Parchment
Just bought that a few weeks ago as well. Amazing build. Did you see it just retired? Got it just in time haha
Rly did it?
I bought all three while they are still available at my Local Lego Certified Store. goodthing I was able to since now our local LCS are closing
I bought this this today at the LEGO store in Disney springs, or as us locals call it, Downtown Disney. It's a beautiful model and looks good next to the UCS Slave 1 and UCS R2-D2.
That's such an awesome rendition of the snow speeder!
the gun moving to the opposite direction of the yoystick is actually movie acurate
MudgateBronn whats a yoystick
In my opinion, there is no place for stickers in UCS sets.
So don't put it in your sets
@@gabrielwolff3182 well, they sort of make or break the realism of a model. My point is, for that kind of cash, I would like prints.
demonbre completely agree, any set above £100 should be exclusively prints IMO
RubbishSpeakers if they use prints the colors will be “off” a lot of the time.
Thats one of the reason why i really like megablocks
Love your channel jang! Don't let anyone slow you down!

JANG, thank you for making such good quality Lego reviews. It really helps me when I am deciding which Lego sets I should buy, and which Lego sets I shouldn't buy.
Even though I'm not into Star Wars I was super enthusiastic for the review ever since I saw the speed build

I'm so impressed with shape of the whole build. I originally didn't have much excitement for this set, but now I'm impressed.
This is really such a great set. Totally loved building it.
This makes the assault on Hoth look tiny.........literally
It's a good set. What would you say is your favorite Star Wars UCS set, Jang?
What a great review! I ordered one and am looking forward to the build. One of my all time favorite Star Wars vehicles. I enjoyed your take on this, thanks!
This is probably one of the only USC sets I've actually wanted.... other than the death star of course!
This is my dad's favorite ship from Star Wars, and I want to surprise him with it but I don't know if he'd want to build it. What should I do?
build it and then give it to him
Jackson Putnam What did you do?
Jackson Putnam definitely get it. Give it. Then offer to build it with him! Bonding.
Jang u deserve so many more subs than u already have
I don't know why they're duplicating UCS ships instead of doing new ships.
I loved this set and so sad I missed it :( Long story, short with Lego sets, buy them when you can.
malcolmar i saw it about 2 months ago in a store which is now closed, i didnt buy it, instead i recently order my favorite ship the Y wing!
Check Mattor Good choice on the y wing!
My only gripe, and it's a minor one among all the other Snowspeeders, is that the base color isn't white. They're a grey color.
but it's a lighter grey than Lego has in their colour pallet, white is far closer to the t-47 airspeeder's base colour.
Mr Flibble They do have a rare colour between white and grey, but producing so many new parts in that colour wouldn't be practical.
I ordered it from S@H on the 29th. Tracking says it's in Sydney, it should be here by the end of the week. Can't wait to build it!
My biggest complaint is the number of stickers. Not a fan of so many stickers.
Another awesome review. Love your thoughts and insights. Just finished building mine and thought the build process was nice too!
Lego, if you're reading this: UCS Luke's Land Speeder, please. It has to be the most iconic vehicle from Star Wars that has NOT been made into a UCS set.
AT-AT (would never be in minifig size unless it was like 10000 pieces) TIE bomber, Millenium falcon, any form of speeder, just to name a few
Falcon already has a UCS.
Troodon I don't like USC sets, but if they made an At-at, I'd get it!!
Tie Bomber would be a day one buy for me
Still on the fence on this one.
Jang, would you mind making a 8087 TIE Defender or 8085 Freeco Speeder review?
The music gives me nostalgia of your old videos because you used this song a lot
Very good angles. Equal as UCS Slave 1
Not nearly as good as the slave 1 though.
Very detailed set I really want it.
Wow, that's a nice set!
I feel like it might be a good idea for you to try to get some of the Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars sets from the past. If possible that it.
Awesome work as always @JANGBRICKS!
a late may the 4th be with you jang
I love the cockpit
really glad you grabbed this, Its fairly appealing..
as always, awesome review.
I think that the cockpit is too big and the set should be wider on the front.
Jang, this is one of your best reviews lately !
I like yout red arrow, very smart and usefull.
Thanks again :-D
HEMERASH Music but how did he make the red arrow?
A new flat piece
Yes. it appeared for the first time in 2014,
in five sets (among which The Simpsons House and Benny's Spaceship )
Dry humor and all 👍
I don't like stickers...They're coarse and rough and irritating...And they gets everywhere.
Pandis Pandus if only that made sense
Good game George Lucas🐼👍
Hopefully the next one after falcon will be UCS AT-AT set ! I believe it's not so hard to do for LEGO !
Max Kunz Dude, that would be pricey.
They should've had Dac, Luke, Wedge, and Wedge's co pilot
Nice shot Jansen
His full name was Wes Jansen
It's Wes Janson. I have a snowspeeder built from a model kit and painted the figures to be Wedge and Wes. It's been autographed by both Denis Lawson (Wedge) and Ian Liston (Janson)
I really love your videos.
@JANGBRICKS Have u got the wonder woman warrior battle and if so when will there be a review?
ok so I'm really torn between the bucket wheel excavator and assembly square. which one should I get?
I'm a huge fan of buildings and small vehicles that can fit in minifigures so i would pick the assembly square :D
Assembly Square
you're the best lego reviewer everrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been waiting for this, much better than the first one :)
great model good UCS set but if u just want a snowspeeder get one of smaller ones they work just fine...
I just realized that the snow speeder looks like two paper planes slammed together.
I'm pretty sure that the air inlets on the back aren't horizontal because it's an older model of snow speeder(?) I think-
This UCS is soooo amazing...
can you put a technic figure in the snowspeeder?
The're slightly too small
Should get the UCS Slave 1, Tie Fighter, or Snowspeeder
Binyamin Alter slave 1, but if you may have the option to get it later, get the tie fighter. It will be retiring soon
Over the past 2yrs I have bought all 3. As Connor said....... Tie fighter first as it's about to retire. If you can only buy one get the slave 1..... If that's your thing.
Slave 1
All three
I don't like the cockpit it's too blocky
Oh man, I love the little red lego arrow! Is this the first time you've used it?
Such a good build
Hi Jang, are you able to get your hands on the UCS Y Wing? If love a review on it but if you aren’t able to, no worries. :)
could you possibly do a review of the ultimate series R2D2?
5:36 OMG I LOVE THAT IDEA 😂😂😂😂
He means the pointer Jang made of legos
at first when I watched the speedbuild I thought the slight angle of the lazer canons was a building mistake.
aren't those the head pieces used for dak in the 2014 minifig scale version
Jang, your making me want to buy this set!
TheBrickMaster2.0 same
Including mini-figs was just not right for this set. Because you can’t do much with them in UCS only some workout with mini-figs, look at the size of that cockpit!
Mr. Loser they got to add at least one minifig just for scale
At least they weren't just both angry clone faces.
Anymore rumors about what the second ucs set will be this year?
Chris Downs mil. falcon is but probably not
Chris Downs There are rumors of a $500 Millenium Falcon
Jussi Marttinen I would love a Millennium Falcon. I already have the UCS X-Wing and Tie Fighter. I just need the Falcon to pair up with my Slave One.
A UCS Falcon that will be the biggest set ever, costing around $799 USD
This set needs a better way to pick it up, my wing feel off but I popped it back on but more fell off in the process
Sensei gamer just nd gentle with it. Nothing has fallen off for me
I wonder if you could fit a bioncle figure in there?
Jackocrazy Salad Probably not because Bionicle's hips are too wide and they're too tall.
I think Technic fig would work!
