What's your favorite beach town in Mexico? Is Melaque on your radar?? 3:47 might just be my new favorite beach in Mexico 😍You can find more timestamps in the description of the video!
I visited Melaque over 14 years ago and there's not a day that goes by that I don't miss the people and the playa! ❤☀️⛱️ I know I will return. 😢 Soon I hope 😊
Thanks for information on this part of Mexico, it's laid back, nice scenery, peaceful I arrived in playa del Carmen on mother's day 🙂 loving Mexico, keep up with more videos 👍
Welcome to Mexico, Pamela! I hope you're enjoying your time in Playa del Carmen 🤓 def try to make it over to Mexico's Pacific coast when you get the chance!
I stayed at Barra de Navidad 50 years ago. Everyone has a story about a small Mexican beach town they visited sometime ago and how shocked they are by how much it has developed since they last visited. I can say that 50 plus years ago, Barra was tiny. It looks huge compared to how I remember it. Also, no one ever mentions mosquitoes…what is the mosquito issue like in the places you are visiting? Thank you. Really enjoy your videos.
For me that's Sayulita. I learned to surf there in the mid 90's. There were 3 other surfers in the whole town. It was just a little fishing village. I can't bear the thought of going back there. My daughter was there last January and said it was nuts.
The sunsets are amazing from Barra, but with the way the bay curves, the view out into the ocean is obstructed from Melaque. Still an awesome place though!
@@RedroomStudios I'm confused then. I have made the trip from Nayarit to Colima and Michoacán on surf trips so I'm obviously mixing up names. I hope you're having a good time!
Fun video, Alex. I went to Barra de Navidad for three days a few years ago and had a great time. Next time I visit I would like to stay in Melaque. We visited a lot of the same places, but I now really want to visit Playa Tenacatita.
Playa Tenacatita blew my mind--it's incredible. A must when you make it back to that part of Mexico! It would also be a great place to paddleboard and snorkel. Thanks for watching, Chris!
wish you had made this video in the rainy season so the mountains were nice and green. I am not a fan of how things look deep into dry season... just looks dead and depressing to me. I usually live in Guadalajara but decided to escape the spring heat this year between March - June by heading down to San Cristobal, Chiapas. it's about 10 degrees C cooler here on average than GDL and it's rained about 10 times in 3 months I've been here, so the mountains here stay green year round. my girlfriend is going on vacation with her family to Cuastecomates at the end of July so nice to see it featured in your video!
"Dead and depressing" during dry season is why I don't really enjoy hiking this time of year around Guadalajara! Awesome plan to spend these hot months elsewhere--I'm plotting to do the same next year!
Great video...retiring soon and we're going to spend a few months in Mexico to spare us from the Canadian winters. I watch your videos for research and enjoyment, trying to find a place to settle down. Favourite beaches recently have been in Huatulco and in the past probably Tulum. (Tulum too commercial now for me) Huatulco has a good selection of swimmable beaches, but are small. I think it will change too much for my liking since the highway has opened up from Oaxaca.
I have yet to visit Huatulco but have heard many good things! I actually got married in nearby Puerto Escondido back in 2022. It will be interesting to see how tourism in the area evolves with the opening of the new highway. Great to have you here, Scott! Please let me know if you have any questions about Mexico!
How hard is it to travel by bus to melaque from.vallarta do you know??
9 дней назад+1
It is very easy to travel between Melaque and PV by bus. I rode the Primera Plus bus line which was clean, comfortable, and affordable. The trip takes just over 4 hours. You can buy tickets online or at the station.
Playa Melaque, yes. It was tragic--the only shark attack there in more than 60 years. This video features several different beaches if you don't feel comfortable swimming there.

1. Mazatlán
2. Manzanillo
3. Acapulco
Easily accessible from Zapopan if your driving or # 3 Flying. And not full of American tourist traps!
@@TheCryptoTradingChannel Thanks for sharing your faves! All those spots are on my list to visit someday 😍

Great tour of my favorite beach town. I take the bus from Guadalajara to Melaque often. I walk everywhere with no issues. Thank you for sharing.

Looks really nice. Need to check it out. Unfortunately from someone who lives in La Paz that bay was not even close to how awesome Balandra is.
The hike at Balandra with the mirador is really what sets it apart for me! But I loved the long curving beach here & the sand had zero rocks!
Cute towns! I bet the sunsets are amazing there.

Great insight!

I love this part of Mexico. I have spent so much time on the other side of the bay in Punta de Mita. Keep up with the good videos!
Bahia Banderas and Punta de Mita is very far from here. this is 4-5 hours driving from Vallarta.

If youre still in guadalajara don't miss out on pitayas... there's like 2 weeks left to try them
Yes, still in Guadalajara!
I have friends who love this area.
Hi Alex, just loved your video. I'm searching for a coastal town with little to no expats. Have you run across any?
How small of a place are you thinking? What are your other must-haves?
Cool video Alex. You should do a surfing video.....
I used to not think surfing was my vibe, but I’ve been reconsidering that stance lately!
@@alex-wittman I want to go to Manta or Canoa here and try it.....

would it be a consideration for an ex pat to live or is it too small?
expats can live anywhere! it all depends on personal preference and how much of modern services you need.
Lots of snowbirds in Melaque!
This is the beach where the woman was killed by a shark this year?
