    Would be nice if they sometimes got rid of the double highway for starting and maybe introduced some smaller roads/highways to start your city from 😞

    • @scarypineapple8608
      @scarypineapple8608 Год назад +2

      A smaller road would cause massive traffic issues with people just trying to travel to your city.

    • @Kristofburger
      @Kristofburger Год назад +6

      The main issue with that is they would have to scoot the smaller highways into the base game instead of requiring Mass Transit.

    Would have been cool with a winter map with an alpine feel to it. Putting in those log cabin-esque assets and having a ski resort build. :D Nice maps all in all. I'm definitely going to get this pack.

    Honestly? Ever since I saw the first episode of Thessia I wish they could make a map or two maps that only have a Train Station and a Cargo Train Station with rail connections in the starting tile and only the next unlockabe tiles have the highway connection. Obviously sensibly designed. That was soo cool watching people moving in walking out of the train station. And no annoying vanilla highway interchange to redesign.

    The mixed biome maps are awesome, I hope that CS2 really leans into that as a concept because it's so much more realistic.

    Maze Valley at least seems like one of the few maps a hydrodam seems viable without massively altering the terrain. Could possibly do like a Boulder City / Las Vegas build on it.

  • @StarStuff.

    Emerald Cliffs is cool, the numerous castles give a perfect excuse to develop smaller town centres around them and their surrounding neighbourhoods, like they used to be at odds with each other in the past, and then give them one big downtown, but have to see the map more in detail.
    Maze Valley instantly reminded me of The Wandering Village on top of dino Dave 😄
    Not sure if it's possible to link the mountaintops with cable cars, never tried to use them so up high... Actually is it possible to build bridges that high? I guess I just have to try...
    Thank you for getting out the tier list so quickly ❤

    Maze Valley reminds me of Durango, CO. A college town surrounded by bluffs, the college itself sits up on one. Only a couple outside connections via national roads that climb said bluffs up onto the mesa tops, which then head down to the desert. Head north into the mountains theres a couple small historic mining towns -now tourist towns- with limited footprints. Could be really neat

    I recommend only using Water Towers in Maize Valley if playing vanilla with no DLCs because using the sewage drainers will waste your limited water use. Otherwise use a DLC that has a land sewage system or conversion plant that turns the sewage into drinking water. Also the so called clean water sewage drainer thing in green cities DLC does not work. Even though, there is no visible water pollution, it still makes your city sick however with that DLC you could still use the trash cleaners

    Thank you Egg, you wasted no time getting the cartography analyses out to us. Imho, the map info is vital. I plan to dump sand over the entire Winding Waters map and make it tropical. And the fishing is BORING! Good grief, it's not that hard to have all four fish available on one map. But yeah, thanks again Egg, love all your Map Tiers videos.

    The last one seems the most intriguing to me. Basically you start with an extremely buildable flat map that requires you to use all skills to make it unique. A lot of tera forming opportunities and you have to connect the 2 highways yourself. Also with just the single river it makes the map hydro power viable.

    I just took advantage of the summer sale and bought a few DLCs. Even though you don't compare those DLCs with each other, I still appreciate how it turns it from a like 12+ map choice is just like a choice between like 4 maps because its a lot more organized when I watch these and I can easily see "Ok, this is my favorite Hotels and Retreats, and this is my favorite Sunset harbor" etc. I only need to compare my favorite of each because as I said prior you only compare the DLCs maps with each other mainly which is okay, (duh your doing the community a favor, saying its not enough would be like telling somebody who just donated 3000 dollars to charity and saying "HEY YOU BETTER DONATE ANOTHER 1000) anyways back on topic, It also just the fact you go deep into almost every possible piece of information we could use so I don't need to go load up all these maps myself and can just watch these short but useful videos please, keep making these videos once CS2 is released too. Thanks!

    I'm one of those masochists who gets a kick out of maps like Maze Valley. But it can definitely be a challenge building believable networks.
    Emerald Cliffs does look interesting. Probably the only other map I'd play out of that pack.
    My big gripe is all the rubbish scattered about. I can't stand wasting time going around the map deleting all the ruins and shipwrecks. Those aren't features to me. I actually find it somewhat insulting. It's like the mapmaker is telling me I need to do something there.
