Constructive criticisms: 1.) Henry should simply sell this rifle with 3 magazines, instead of just the 2, and; 2.) they should also do what Armalite did in the 60s, and instead of just leaving the plastic shoulder stock cavity hollow, fill it with foam in order to improve buoyancy. I'd also like to see it come in at least a woodland camo version of the Desert Viper pattern instead of the Kanati (which I don't care for) -- if not in fact a full array of patterns (arctic, urban, ocean, etc.). It'd simply be a matter of having the printing software, presumably. Otherwise, this is the best iteration of the AR-7 yet.
I've heard it said that this rifle is unreliable without hot ammo and that it's inaccurate. The AR-7 I bought just days ago has been eating everything all the way down to sub-sonics. It even eats Remington Golden Bullets! (No other semi-auto in my collection can make that claim.) I'm not the best marksman out there, but with unsupported off-hand shooting and only using the iron sights I got a 2 inch group at 30 yards. Add to the fact that this is weather resistant and easy to disassemble for cleaning, I'm very impressed with this gun. The trigger isn't that bad either, despite what others have said. Henry did a great job with this. I'm just sorry it took me so long to get around to buying one for myself.
That's pretty cool. I'd like to see some kind of latch type mechanism on the cap though. If it were to get dropped somehow it could come open and everything could come out.
I had one way back in 1970 right after i got out of the Army. This was a little beauty! It was either Extremely accurate or i was just a good marksman. I wish i still had it, but my wife doesn't want any firearms around the house.
I love the AR-7. Unfortunately mine is the Charter Arms version and it jams and misfires/unintended discharges a lot and I no longer have the original buttstock and can't find one here in Africa😢😢 Very light and easy to handle so much so even a kid can shoot it without difficulty
Great Video, Jeremiah! I have several 22lr firearms, but no AR7, and no 10/22. Your video will likely persuade me to get the AR7 before the Ruger! :D It's a great piece of American History!
hey, cool vid. I just bought this gun. Brought it home and was inspecting the backside of the barrel, noticed a scoop in it (not the notch), you can see it in the vid @1:09, this is my first firearm, wondering if the scoop is supposed to be there. when you look at the frame @1:09, not the vertical notch, but to the right of it, there's a crescent scoop in the barrel. Is that normal? I'm assuming it is since both my gun and this one have it. Thanks!
Question: Does the original poster or anyone else know what the make and model of the backpack the gentleman in the video is wearing? That's *exactly* the kind I've been looking for but can't seem to find, and I'd like to order one. Thanks.
Just in case you're still looking, look up medium molle pack, or MOLLE II medium ruck, on eBay. I think that's what you're looking for. Just be careful, most of them don't come with the frame, shoulder straps, or waistbelt, and ya kinda need those!
Why is it that every video I see regarding the Henry US Survival AR 7 includes a "water test"? Seriously, what does that prove.....Nothing......Mine will never be put in a boat so the point that it can float is moot.
What good is any rifle if you can't hit the side of a barn with it? Even if you're IN the barn! Sure it's cute, but when it comes to accuracy, you may as well bring a slingshot instead of the Henry "survival" rifle...

Mr. Knupp's article in AMERICAN RIFLEMAN was absolutely top notch. Superb historical breakdown and comprehensive review of the AR-7. :-)
I got this rifle a few years back and paid less than 200$(US) and I love it. It is a pleasure to shoot and is laser beam accurate.

A friend of mine had one of these there fun as hell to shoot and great to throw in the trunk to have a piece of mind

Your wife bans firearms in YOUR HOUSE.....jeez, are you whipped and fine with this?
Choose your next wife more carefully.
All I can say is I hope you had a "boating accident"
Mr. Knupp's article in AMERICAN RIFLEMAN was exceptional. Very well done and highly interesting.
Had one back in the '80's. Most fun gun I ever owned. I wish they'd make one in 9mm.
The new Henry Homesteader is chambered in 9mm. Not quite the same -- but it's still a Henry, and can use generic pistol mags as well.
My first rifle was an AR7 way back in the day. Wish I still had that little thing, they are almost unbeatable for a pack rifle :)
That would be a best seller if we could have repeaters in Australia. So well thought out.
I owned one of the originals. I would like to see one made in a 22 MAG.
Love mine. A little electric tape on the cover keeps water out
I just only wish they had made the lil AR-7 in .22 magnum also....
I love the AR-7. Unfortunately mine is the Charter Arms version and it jams and misfires/unintended discharges a lot and I no longer have the original buttstock and can't find one here in Africa😢😢 Very light and easy to handle so much so even a kid can shoot it without difficulty
I would like a straight pull action on one of these.
Use low velocity ammo and it basically is
There is space I. The butt stock for THREE mags. One in the "gun" and two spares
1:08 ... what knife is that? :-)
It just won't stop. I want one.

I have the Charter Arms version. Those only come with one magazine. 😢
I hear Beaker from The Muppet Show in the music track!
Does anyone know what scope will fit properly on this rifle?
Do they have that in 9mm and 45 caliber. That will be so cool if they do.
I want one. They have it in camo as well. About $300 ish.
Part 2, how to cook squirrel. :)
I doubt know why but I've always wanted one of these.. lol love me some novelty firearms.

Wow !! I didn't know that there was a Anti Submarine variant ...
I so want one, where can I buy thrm?
1:41 You gave the squirrel an eye.
Cool video. Well done.
is it silenceable
Ear piece for LR?
10mm or 45 would be great cal for this type of rifle mainly for canadain wild life defense
Basically if you drop the stock and it snaps a side piece off the rifle as rendered useless. Been there done it.
cool thanx!!
It does the job.
will it float with 3 full magazines?
Get one before Nov 3, 2020

Good God! Not another gun nut with an Assault Rifle!! I thought AR's were banned!?

Nice... good review without the geeky talk...

They take on water and sink eventually, but you would have a minute or more to try and get it.
