  • Final Days and Painful Ending of Peter Lorre. Here's Why?
Peter Lorre was a Hungarian-born American actor, born on June 26, 1904, in Rózsahegy, Hungary (now known as Ružomberok, Slovakia), and passed away on March 23, 1964, in Los Angeles, California. He is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and influential actors of the 20th century, known for his distinctive, raspy voice and piercing stare. Lorre's career began in German silent films, where he played a range of characters from sympathetic heroes to diabolical villains. He gained international fame for his chilling portrayal of a child murderer in Fritz Lang's 1931 film "M," which remains one of his most celebrated performances. Lorre later emigrated to the United States, where he continued to act in a range of films, including classics such as "Casablanca" and "The Maltese Falcon." His talent and unique onscreen presence left an indelible mark on cinema, and he remains a beloved figure in the world of film and television.

Celia Lovsky- the former Mrs. Peter Lorre, is a favorite icon of "Trekkies", playing the original T'Pau.

I always knew he could be more than just a bad guy. If you watch closely to a few of the later films, you'll,see the disappointment in his eyes.

He had those bulgie eyes that looked as if they were going to pop out at any minite. He wasnt beautiful i remember my nan watching movies on sundays when only black and white as we no today called portable tvs if anyone remembers where you would have rabbit ears with wires all over the place just to get the tv working and only one station but it was to people like my nan luxury and an excuse to have the neighbours round knowing they would bring roung cigarettes drink food and whatever else for the hadnt tv and were curious thinking my nan was the best.no matter what film it was but luckly it was always musicals when they arrived.they were like school children and not a sound was heard when the film would start foor the whole neighbourhood from around where i lived wher in my house .i looked foward to them calling because i would get 10p from most of them which was alot in those days when you could get haypenny sweets.and there was two shops in chapelizod then and the owners would bring me a big bag of all sorts of sweets.god i loved sundays not because of mass but because of my nans tv.and by the way she was the firsrt person and my neighbour across the road who rigged us up and told us not to say how we got the station.the neighbours always woundered how we got the station and films on tv .but a year later.R.T.E Came Around to peoples Doors weeks later people had tv in their houses and this one who was a snotty old cow of course got a colour middle size tv a bit bigger the a portable with two stations and invited alk the neighbours around to show of ber tv.which i have to say i.was impressedbut my nan was not happy walked in as mrs o conner kept winding her up about her colour tv my nan got up i gtabbed her thinking she was going to punch her in the face.the next day mrs o conner was outside shouting my tvs not working as my nan stood in her garden smiling and waved over to barney with👍👍👍👍👍up.i laughed as my nan winked at me and said a sure .what goes round comes around as mrs o conner was running around her garden with her hands on her head like a headless chicken. I no what i wrote was about The life of Peter Lorre.but i got carried because i love the old black and white movies .i got carried away about the first tv on my neighbour hood that my nan got.
