  • We got an early start this morning, getting out on the water before sunlight. Arrived at our target spot right as the sun was coming up so that gave me a window of about an hour or so to get on the topwater bite. Needless to say, it was a great day getting tight on some nice trout!

    Was out there Saturday morning with my son... fished the incoming tide n couldn't buy a bite but around 12 when the water turned n started moving out we caught 20 trout in an hour..... all on popping corks with a 3.5 natural vudu.... plus Brice got his first keeper flounder..... like always awesome video buddy.....

      Man, that's awesome. I went out on Saturday too with a friend. It was slow for us all day. Only managed a couple fish each.

      I've been able to get anything but flounder on my Vudu. Can't complain though. When that bite turns on it's a blast.

    I've been using Mirro Lures and Z Man paddle tails but looks like I'm getting a Rapala in the morning. After the past few weeks trout fishing has become my absolute favorite. Great video!

      I usually put in on the ICW or Wando, but I mix it up every once in a while.

    Im new to fishing saltwater but would walking around piers and boardwalks on the marsh fishing with a vudoo shrimp or swimbait work at all because Ive had no luck and seen some monster reds right where I'm casting?

    • @SCFishTales
      @SCFishTales  2 года назад +1

      Yes, those lures will work. I use them as well. If the fish see you on the dock or pier, they will usually be spooked and won't hit your lure. Your best luck would be to use cut bait if they see you. They will eventually come back and eat the bait.

    Fishing was fine but swap out the trebles for inline hooks!! Don't hold fish with dry hands, ESPECIALLY specks that have AND NEED a thick slime layer to protect their skin from parasites and other skin irritants.

    • @SCFishTales
      @SCFishTales  2 года назад

      Thanks! If you look back at my other videos, I use in-line hooks on my hard baits. This particular morning I forgot my box with all my topwaters at my house and had to use the new ones in bought on the way to the boat ramp.

    Just starting to get good , come winter is some of the best time for big trout coming up on too the flats in lagoons to feed and warm up using a skitter walker here in SE La.

    Hammered the Trout Kevin. Have you tried single inline hooks? That should lessen the chances of getting a hook in your hands and a little safer to catch and release Trouts. I need to try pro cure on my Topwater too.

    • @SCFishTales
      @SCFishTales  2 года назад +1

      Hey, yes! If you look at some of my previous videos, I use in-line hooks to catch redfish and trout on top water. On this particular day, unfortunately, I forgot my tacklebox with all my topwaters that were already rigged with in-line hooks on them. So I had to use the new ones that were in my boat in my big tacklebox. Ha

    How do you find where the trout are? What type of creek/waterways are you looking for that hold trout?

    • @muddywaters1934
      @muddywaters1934 2 года назад +2

      Look for structure, current, depth change and bait activity. If a spot has all 4 it’s gonna have fish.

    • @SCFishTales
      @SCFishTales  2 года назад +1

      I look for moving water along a grass line, oyster rakes, drop offs, etc. then I look for where the bait is moving and look for an eddy along the moving water. That's where I usually hook up.

    • @SCFishTales

      I believe this reel has 10lb super slick braid on it, with 2 foot of 20lb fluorocarbon leader.
