Air New Zealand NZ5641 : Flying from Christchurch to Queenstown

Initially, I only intended to travel to Christchurch but I figured that a quick stop in Queenstown wouldn't hurt. This time, I'm flying Air New Zealand on their 3 years old ATR 72-600, ZK-MVI.
We were up nice and early in getting to the airport for our early morning departure. After checking in, we waited by the airside till boarding. The flight boarded from Gate 7 and I settled in Seat 2D, right at the front of the plane. The plane taxiied to the runway and took off towards Queenstown shortly after. The flight was normal, with refreshments being served, until... the unexpected happened. Actually, we were informed beforehand that we could be heading towards Invercargill due to the bad weather. The captain announced that we would be landing in Invercargill and buses would be arranged to take us to Queenstown. We got a glimpse of the snowy mountains before landing into Invercargill and parking at Gate 2. Outside, the buses were waiting to take us to Queenstown. So, I guess this was a blessing in disguise as we also got to see the surroundings between Queenstown and Invercargill which was really nice. The crew were excellent at the job so "props" to Air New Zealand for their handling of the situation. My apologies for any abrupt cuts of the audio and the length of the video :)

First up THANKYOU for NOT replacing your high class audio with some nauseating MUSAK. Your Video was of great quality and I think the Audio quality always makes or breaks a video. It made yours. Your use of titles for stages of flight etc was discrete - fantastic. As was the lack of ego chatter. Well done.
Nice peaceful quiet flight. Morning flights are usually like that, no babies!
Very nice review. In the last year or two Required Navigation Performance (RNP AR) technology has been introduced for the Air NZ ATR-72 planes. So diversions like this are now much rarer.
