The scientists who work at the Salk Institute were not allowed to attend this event nor were they even allowed to watch from their studies above. Access to the building was made difficult for more than a week and there was no open conversation about the event with the faculty. This was a very unfortunate missed opportunity to actually merge science and fashion.
Ugh! That breaks my heart! Disappointing
¿? Fashion is a way to express anything just to hide the emptiness of life. Science is looking for answers about the "creation"/everything just to find more meanings in life. Total different worlds separated by a massive distance. They can't even collide
Nicolas at Vuitton never ever excites me...Always something lacking (soul?) or something too much is what I feel. The place is gorgeous though and it is always a pleasure to watch a video of you Loic, and the team. Thanks!
I read comments usually a bit ahead of watching video. Now I understand what You mean I feel like these clothes "shout but dont speak" if that makes sense 🤷♀️

Glad almost everyone enjoyed it. However, it was a horribly lost opportunity to live up to the Salk Institute’s legacy of combining art with science. The folks at Salk working each and every day, the students, postdocs and staff, working for humanity were excluded from the event and prohibited from moving from lab to lab and building to building for over a week. They were relegated to moving amongst the campus underground in tunnels as if the heart and soul of the Salk were diseased family members kept out of sight. All for what folks? I hope the money was worth it and the cost of the items further enrich a multibillion company.

That's fashion for you. None of the people at the show even really care about fashion. They are there as advertisement. Money will always be wasted on the rich and famous.
This summarises fashion to a T. Show attendees list is very limited

The attendees aren’t at the fashion show to enjoy this horrific creation of what they call “fashion” and “creativity” as I can’t imagine anybody would wear such atrocity “galactic” style publicly. Attendees are presence just to show that socioeconomic status of the wealth and fortune while there so many people in so many countries are suffering from homeless and hunger. Why don’t these folks put on a better cause.
Loic, you make the absolute best fashion documentaries. Would you ever consider making a reality video of the people who actually wear the clothes on a daily basis? That would be fascinating to see. Only you can achieve that with your fashion connections and access.

Always a pleasure to watch your films. What a special setting for this show.
The production was massive. One of my colleagues worked on this project and stayed 3 days in San Diego. Then she came to our set to work on our shoot, which was considerably less glamourous. I loved seeing Signe Veiteberg make an appearance. Her look was perfect for this.
