amazing how Geon has gotten three different designs to sound so consistent compared to one another! that is true dedication and quality. I know it's subjective, but I put on my favorite headphones, closed my eyes watching this video and could barely tell the difference... might have to pick up a v2 if it ever reruns
Thanks for watching (and listening!) There will be another V2 drop soon and also a GB in the near future. Do keep a look out in Geon's discord to stay in the loop if you are looking to pick one up :)
i swear the 722 and the v2 sound sooo identical, they're closer to each other than they are to the OG imo, with the v2 being a middle ground. also they both sound like they are closer to the desk I guess thats the lower height doing its thing, I think I prefer the OG but one cannot go wrong with either tbh. Love my v2 ❤ much appreciate your comparison
yes in my testing I found the V2 & 722 to be almost identical while the OG had the most vibrations and also sounded a little higher pitched & somehow more musical.
thanks for your support! it's a hard choice to be honest, og F1 sounds and feels the best to me but I prefer the lower front height of the V2 and 722. since they are all quite similar to each other just get whichever that speaks the most to you aesthetically I suppose?
F1 gives that unique vibrations during typing, especially with the v1.1 alu plate. Glare is a classic top mount. Both boards are quite different, with a top mount you would expect a stiffer overall typing feel. Sound is also uniquely different. Kinda hard to compare since not entirely apple to apple
how would you compare the OG to the 722 in terms of pitch, like how high or low, and volume? does one sound louder or fuller then the other? im debating between an OG f1 wtih PC bottom and a F1 722
@@studio20creations thanks for your help, i was indecisive betweeen a OG F1 pink top PC bottom and a 722, i like OG sound slightly better but ended up choosing the 722 becuse its silver/raw and thats my all time favourite keboard colour, plus the 722 has tastier aesthetics and better geometry lol
Hi, I recently got a 722 and saw that you’ve used different o-rings in the past. I was wondering if the material of the o-rings affect the sound of the board? For example stock viton vs silicon
I didn't do A/B direct testing but I do feel there isn't a very noticeable difference in sound, just the typing feel is a little softer using silicon vs viton
thanks for the video! Do you have anything to comment about the different plates for F1s? Which ones are your favourite? Sound and feel-wise how do they differ from the ones you have tried/heard about?
So far I've built with alu V1.1 full and half, alu V3, a custom CF using leaf spring V2. Personally I enjoy the V1.1 full the most, provides a well rounded sound and very pronounced vibrations during typing unique to the F1. The V2 and V3 is a little too stiff for my liking.
@@studio20creations I'm using a polypropylene plate and it feels amazing compared to the aluminum plates. It removed the harsh, stiff vibrations from the aluminum. It's slightly lower pitched than the aluminum but still offers a nice clack profile.
@@studio20creations Yeah, definitely recommend trying. When I first built my F1-88, I hated the aluminum plate. It sounded great but was quite harsh with a lot of vibration. The pp plate fixed everything I hated about the aluminum plate.
@@studio20creations V1.1, I was talking with my friend who was also thinking the same thing and they are using a V1.1 plate too. Are you using full length oring strips or did you cut them short or something?
Nope, all stock & full length viton oring gaskets. It's only when i press firmly will there be a prominent downward motion. Normal typing just provides a vibrationy feel.
If you could only keep one of the 3 boards which one would it be? How similar is OG F1-8X to F1-8X V2? I've heard a lot of people saying that the spacebar of the OG is better compared to the V2.
i would keep either 722 or v2 but that is mainly cause I prefer low front heights. To "fix" the spacebar for V2 or 722, you can try this little trick I timestamped here: ruclips.net/video/uDNgb4H_wLE/видео.html
@@studio20creations Wow, the trick you did for the space bar is an actual game changer and makes the space bar sound more full! thanks for that comment!
Just did a blind test with a helping hand and surprising how you basically cant really tell a difference. At most you can differentiate the OG although barley, but even then scary close.
True! I already own a 722 had an OG for a while, but was thinking about the upcoming V2 GB. Guess it is not worth if they’re basically the same sounding. Anyway thanks a lot for the interesting video !
Personally, 99% there's no difference between all the three, like seriously they're all sounds identical and in a good way, all them sounds great. Just a matter of minor design change, and I don't think the v2 is changed anything fundamental from v1, it's like a minor facelift, a refreshment with slightly different bottom design. But the good thing is, v2 was unlimited gb it's sold 2500+ units, so it's much more accessible then ever before
722 is the most loose sounding board. V2 definitely sounds tight and nice. OG on the other hand, slightly more muted. I think I like the V2, then the OG, and lastly the 722. V2 FTW
You are just wrong, there is a little to none difference between the three boards soundwise. If you close your eyes you can barely hear the difference (if you even can). They sound identical
There is a small difference to all 3 keyboards. Using high quality headphones will help combat some of the compression youtube does to the audio. But ultimately can't go wrong with any of the F1s. They are all great solid boards.

OG is slightly higher pitched but PC bottom is a different story. I didn't side by side test an og PC v 722. Volume is more or less similar to my ears

Why does it look so bouncy when you're pressing the edges? Mine definitely doesn't bounce like that, especially with the stock o-rings!
