  • Cebu City is often referred to as the "Queen City of the South". It's a bustling metropolis with cultural heritage due to it being the oldest city in the Philippines.
Places we visited in this vlog:
▸ Sirao Garden Little Amsterdam - this is the original garden and you need to go in further past the first garden to get to it
▸ Sirao Pictorial Garden - this is the newer garden and is within a short walking distance of the original Sirao Garden
    ▸ Temple of Leah
▸ Tatang's - trying Cebu lechon is an absolute must! maps.app.goo.gl/FYvWk4v8fXRY6...
▸ Yap San Diego Ancestral House
▸ Heritage of Cebu Monument - just a short walk down the road from Yap San Diego Ancestral House
    ▸ Fort San Pedro
We hired a taxi from 9.30am - 1.30pm as to get to the Sirao Gardens and Temple of Leah then were dropped back into the city centre for lunch. It's a bit of a far drive and it was more convenient for us than trying to catch local public transport (using jeepney and habal-habal). We couldn't seem to book Grab for the journey either (even though Grab is available in Cebu) and we didn't want to get left stranded up the mountain so chartering a taxi seemed the best solution. We used Grab to get around for the second half of our day.

Jeepney's are such fun 😊. I never get sick of Peter's love of kai. Some of those monuments show how much wealth is in the Philippines, even though poverty is so common.

Tatang's lunch for Pete is the comfort right up there 😋. I am going for my roast pork tonight (as close as possible)
The old heritage house of Yap is so well looked after, really amazing and I am assuming that they did not install any fans in the house, judging from both Pete and Yen mobile fan
The Jeeps there is really well decorated 😀
Have a great week ahead, am adjusting to reality 😂, must stop this "work" thing

😂 you know L H I notice you always particularly enjoy the Crispy pork dishes. Good taste! That is one of yens favorites too.
The Yap house was very cool, such fantastic condition especially considering the tropical and humid climate of the Philippines.

I love your 'History meets Present' vlog... That's really cool you have been visiting a lot of historical places here in our country.
Also, Thank you for trying the Filipino warmth & hospitality.... especially the food. You will really both appreciate it. 🥰

The replica Parthenon makes for a pretty cool self-storage building too 😉
It's always fun to watch Peter's expressions when he's eating something tasty too 😂

    • @PeterandYen
      @PeterandYen  21 день назад

Hmmm the only connection might be a flight from Amsterdam to cebu 😂
I couldn't find anything online either the creator of the gardens must have just taken inspiration from there after a trip 😁

Ahhhh yeaaaaah jeepney!!! Hahahaha perfect!!! I jumped on a random jeepney in Manila just to see where I’d end up…had a long walk back to my airbnb 😂😂. Can’t go wrong with lechon😋😋😋. Looked super yummmmmm… Wasn’t sure what I pictured in my mind when I heard of Cebu, but definitely wasn’t windmills and Ancient Greek buildings😁. Really cool to finally see glimpses of Cebu! Thanks for the vid and have to say… more big hands but no puns? Boo..😂. Safe travels guys!!!

😂 lost jeepney adventures! That's the best way to travel 😂 though ending up in random areas of Manila might lead to some very interesting adventures 😅
The lechon was great especially that sauce! Went perfect with cutting through the fattyness of the meat.
