Sheff Utd have Burnley and West Brom at home followed by Sunderland and Watford away. 3 very tough matches (Burnley, Sunderland Watford) and 1 tough match (West Brom) . I'm expecting 5 points, at best, maybe even less from those games which could see us slip out of the top 2 but expect us to bounce back because we're so consistent beating the bottom 2 thirds of the league. If we amass decent points in those 4 games and still remain in top 2 then I'll be surprised and would expect us to pull away.
Sunderland needed that come back win at Swansea and will kick on again. Injuries and suspensions have cleared up and we are looking like the team we were at the beginning of the season. We will stay unbeaten over the festive season. Ha way the lads. SAFC.
Burnley will have a lot of players to come back from injury in the new year, we will get better in the next few months. Lyle Foster, Nathan Redmond, Manuel Benson and Aaron Ramsey all to come back along with whoever we sign in the window will hopefully improve us vastly.
Tough Few games for us over Christmas but we’re grinding out the results without playing too well. Can’t wait for the transfer window after which we should crack on UTC
I remembered that in 1972 Sunderland were 2 0 down at Portsmouth on the 9th of December on my Birthday. They won 3 2. I checked out the fixtures. We played the 16th of Dec and didn't play again till the 6th of Jan. Catching up from Xmas break and 8 FA Cup ties, we played 9 league games from the 7th to the 30th of April, 5 days before we beat Leeds in the cup. 2 games on consecutive days! We then had to play 2 more games 2 days apart. Were players tougher in the old days? Before our Portsmouth comeback, we'd drawn 3 and lost 6. They seriously improved after that!
I'm a Blade but it would be good for Yorkshire if both Leeds and Sheffield United where in the Prem and if our takeover goes through and we get the financial backing maybe we could stay up this time !
Sheffield United have the toughest 4 fixtures. Up to Leeds and the rest to capitalise. I'll take a slip off the top, we just need to stay up there until these games are over, and the transfer window kicks in, hopefully with new ownership.
@sj-30000 Did I say it meant splashing the cash? It just needs finishing its gone on long enough, and we know PA is too stretched if we are to take the next steps.
I don't see the clubs above Sunderland dropping points before new year necessarily but if we leave Blackburn with 6 points more than we have now then that's a great sign for the remaining half of the season
That Leeds RUclips on blades ramble said all Leeds fans wud want us to beat Burnley an open up a gap to 3rd, surprised at that comment to be fair. @@Leedsutd1985
@@Leedsutd1985 I somehow missed that fixture. We have Sheffield as our new year's eve game too so it's a real opportunity to try and claw back some places
I dont see the top two dropping many points. As a Rovers fan I'm not excited about facing Leeds away. If Rovers can get 5/6 points from Millwall, Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland, Hull and then win our game in hand at Portsmouth I'd be very happy over this Christmas period. Love hate the championship though, ridiculously tough league and our winning run will come to an end though anyone can beat anyone on their day.
Everybody is unlucky against the Blades so they say but just look at the league table which rarely lies, let’s just see how the rest of the season goes before opening the fizz
Millwall are in desperate trouble now. No good manager will want to join as long as the board will not change their attitude on only wanting a head coach. If they do, then it will be an insult to Harris. Good players will want to leave and who at the day of the day suffers, us, the supporters.
Hi when is Sam coming to home park i asked him to pop down when we played Swansea but he never turned up and we lost! At this rate i might print out a super sammy parkin T-shirt and put it on before Saturday kick off as i sit in the front of the grandstand we always seem to win when he pops down. I even asked him if he wanted to manage Argyle one day when Foster was sacked maybe you Ben could be his assistant Manager but Sam refused it on one of your other uploads. Maybe one day he will have a change of heart does it still hold it agisnt us for that 2-3 win for Argyle at the County Ground back in the 03 season 😥
Sunderland's new young captain is Dan Neil well Dan has had to sit deeper and hasn't really been himself all season, but Dan was motm in the Swansea win and he drove his team mates on and put a Bryan Robson performance in even if he had a virus.. Will Dan boss things now...and will Sunderland dig in and get going, we should have beaten Sheff U, but now we have lost new flying winger Tommy Watson, can Sunderland avoid injuries
I think Sam respects Leeds with their player quality and depth of squad but he definitely has a "I don't like Leeds" vibe. He comes across that he would rather the other three top four clubs get promoted other them. Maybe it's his Chelsea connection!!!
Can see the Blades losing maybe 1:0 or 2:1 at Sunderland... other than that, 0.:1 away win at Cardiff, 1:0 wins at home to Burnley and WBA and a 0:0 draw at Watford, 10 pts from 5 games. We're turning into 1990 Arsenal 😂
Sunderland were very unlucky against Shef Utd away, we played them off the park for the majority of the game. Blackburn will be the harder game but with 7000 Mackems we have a good chance of at least a draw.
it's not unlucky...there's a pattern this season, Sunderland and Leeds often play teams off the park but somehow seem to struggle to win. Obviously it's not bad luck, it's a lack of quality in front of goal. Often you find that the best teams are often lucky and the teams with deficiencies always seem to be unlucky, luck plays a part for the odd game or 2 but if it persists over a series of games then luck is not a factor.
@ what’s the league got to do about one game? Think you on drugs do being so thick if we talking about games Sheffield wouldn’t be top of Sunderland seen out Coventry and Millwall
Think Sheffield United will kick on, maybe snag a draw at Sunderland. Should beat Burnley at home. Forget what Wilder keeps saying about Leeds, all smoke and mirrors.
You can't win the league over Xmas for sure, but you can certainly lose a hell of a lot of ground. Then again, you can say that about most condensed periods.
Exactly! As a Rovers fan we've always been around the play offs around Xmas then totally drop off and press the destruct button 🤣. Only half way through the season, anything can happen between Jan and may.
The best channel for EFL content hands down! Thank you guys! Cheer's! 🍻
Looking up for Sunderland. Money available in Jan, Mundle, Poveda, Samed, Abdullahi and Watson all back in the next 3/4 weeks
Poveda is league one level

Tough run or a chance to smash the league and start opening the gaps. UTB.

Cant see beyond leeds and shef U. Be a 10+ point gap behind them at end of season

7000 means nout. We took 7000 before and it was 0-0. Leeds took a decent following to preston and scored last minute to get a point.
