Take your time srcstc, furloughs and layoffs are going to increase through Oct. Most major airlines are down 65-75% on pilots for the first time in history over a bad flu, and the regionals which is where Swain was/is, is also in a huge layoff phase. The industry is a mess full of greedy CEO'sflying heavy big jets on short routes with less than 45% capacity and adding regional routes to cities they'd never add in normal times because theres no need for passenger service to those particular cities, wasting money. And I know recruiters for both regionals and majors, they say the industry is going to decrease in size by 40% and no more hiring (obviously), likely until after 2024 if at all, and when the furloughed pilots comeback it will be the most senior and qualified that get a call to return. Even those pilot recruiters positions are getting eliminated for the next 4 years. People thought corporate part 135 & 91 flying would pick up, well not like people thought. Only a little. I am with a fairly large charter group with 28 aircraft, 44 pilots and we are actually starting to furlough 😔
My old house looked over Lake Washington in Kenmore and every morning my family would watch the Kenmore Air seaplanes takeoff and every evening watch them land. I miss hearing the noise of the otters and beavers everyday
I'm 12 and I love way home your channel, I want to be a pilot when I grow up because of you, 74 gear, and captain joe, my friend has a ppl and I fly with him sometimes, I also take a few flight lessons every year ant wait until I make it to the airlines
I ordered a video Cassette tape from Jack Browns in 99, It was so well done that after watching it multiple times over several days, I was able to fly my new on floats 2 seater ultralight airplane with absolute confidence, by the third day i was doing circular take offs, with in a week I was flying out of small tight mountain lakes. I treasure that video to this day. Canada requires no endorsement to fly floats on Ultralight aircraft to 1200lbs
Just finished up my commercial rating and halfway thru my CFI academy right now. Thank you for making the videos you do! Because of your videos, I’ve grown to love aviation. Keep it up and congrats on ASES.
Been on seaplanes in Alaska, seaplanes are essential in that wilderness for many. Gives you the opportunity to go where no man has ever been, just awesome
I flew on a seaplane scenic flight from Talkeetna, Alaska once. I will never forget it! The funnest flight I've ever been on! I am nearly complete with my ppl but hope to go to Alaska and get my tailwheel, float and ski plane endorsements as soon as I can!
You have really inspired my dream to become an airline pilot. Right now, I am 13 and taking flight school here in Chicago. I fly a Cessna 172. Thank you for being such a great example.
So glad to see you again. Covid has changed so much of my world with all of cuts in avaition I have been worrying about you. I hope to see you on a revenue flight soon. Keep going my friend. Praying for you.
Swayne. I hope you ha d a great time in the seaplane. I spent the last year in FL flying the caravan on floats in the BH and CARB. Hope you have a great time at jack browns they know how to teach. Alumni of jack browns
My pilot bucket list: -PPL -Seaplane endorsement -Instrument -Twins -Commercial & ATP -High performance and complex endorsements -Experimental endorsement (End goal to be a commercial pilot but also privately own an Icon A5)
Thank you for posting the videos you make. I think they're amazingly high quality (you're a good videographer) and super excellent in their ability to educate and entertain at the same time. Plus I really like how your thumbnails aren't stupid looking attention grabbers. I live in Winter Haven and have been thinking about paying for a seaplane ride, or maybe an hour of dual. I got my private certificate almost 30 years ago but I've been sidelined for a long time thanks to the arthritis that unfortunately runs in the family. Anyway, keep up the great work. I've been following you since the beginning. From a fellow NGPA member, thanks again!
Definitely go hit up Jack Brown's to take a ride with them! They offer an intro course that isn't the full training, so no checkride. #ngpaeverywhere !
Everytime I watch your videos make me want to attend fly school to become a pilot, but I have a career with the feds at this point in my life. Maybe I will do it once I retire or pick it up as a hobby, but I enjoy everyone of your video's. 👍
Hi Swayne, I sent in my applications to Nelson Aviation College and Air Hawkes Bay flight school on Friday! (both based in New Zealand which is where I’m from)
Always good to see a change from the regular schedule of being a regional pilot. I was wondering, because I want to be a pilot, what the best way to research the different aspects of airlines was. Great video though!
If you enjoy seaplane flying, I suggest you look into the International Seaplane Fly-In the happens in Greenville, Maine every September, with the exception of this year, unfortunately
Flying is my passion. My grandparents that live in Panama City used to have a seaplane business but they had to sell it because my grandfather who was the pilot had heart surgery and the doctor said he couldn't fly anymore. He was heartbroken about it.
Crazy that I wanted to become a pilot with a desire to eventually get a seaplane rating. Im now an instrument rated private pilot working my commercial and now I live in Winter Haven!
That looks like so much fun! Recently got my CPL and I'm looking forward to many years of GA flying. Aerobatics tailwheel & floats are for sure on my to-do list.
I am in China now.I am not be able to fly after graduate from flight school in US .miss fly so much.I watch your video over and over again.your video inspire me a lot

I got my seaplane rating there last year. That was without a doubt the best 2 days of aviation training I ever had. Definetly was on my bucket list.
Seaplanes have to be my favorite type of airplane, I get fly on them when I go fly out fishing in Canada.
I'm happy your passion is still alive. It's great.
