    Aww wow!! I just came across your channel and I HAD to click in it. I'm all about doing custom work and have been entertaining the idea of getting into dioramas too. Wow you've collected and still have the Fleer Ultra cards too! I thought I was one of the only people (that I know of) who still has their cards! It's definitely one of my treasures from my childhood. This video is an absolute treat. Definitely subscribing and can't wait to dive I and see more from you 😎👍
    *ps: I actually just picked up an X-men '97 Rogue today. Pretty happy finding her in the wild 😎

      That’s amazing thank you! I also found a 97 rogue in the wild last week, only one I’ve seen so far 💪🏼

    This turned out great, and I like your music track you made. Very evocative of 90s X-Men. I was also really into the cartoon when it came out. I even made custom Barbie dolls of Rogue, Storm, Jean Grey and Psylocke back in the day. My favorite character was probably Mystique though, I always thought she was really cool. I loved how her mutant power allowed her to access places, but she still had to learn a lot of skills in order to actually do anything worthwhile once she was where she needed to be. But I also really liked Rogue and Storm and Phoenix as well.

    Gorgeous diorama. It’s always fascinating to think how tied into the X-Men the Savage Land has become. Mainly from the cartoon. The Savage land pre-dates even the original X-Men by 25-30 years. While not quite as old as Captain America and Namor. It’s close. Going back to 1941 and the closing days of the Golden Age. I love that even in the 80’s and 90’s books, it still maintained a lot of that classic Jack Kirby feel to it. Really the only other thing in the X-Men that did that were the Sentinel designs up through the 80’s.

    Avengers 66 is the 1st app of adamantium and DD 197 is Yuriko’s 1st app. Love that you provide factoids and nostalgic comic history via multiple sources. Beautiful dio and well made content streaming. Thank you!

    Unbelievable work. Seeing so many different materials come together for this project was really great. As a lifelong X-Men fan, this is exactly the kind of thing I love seeing.
    I need to get that 95 Fleer set again. I’ve been piecing my 94 set back together, great seeing those again.
    Excellent diorama!

    Fantastic work as usual and the music was well done also. I remember seeing bits of this going together but don't think I ever saw how you had done the tree. I had been thinking of making some trees with paper towel rolls and foil (twisted up for roots, branches, etc.) but had been wondering how well the paint would have held on. Did not think about using masking tape and then the toilet paper trick for texture. I'll definitely be trying this technique out soon. Also, love the use of floral foam. Before watching your channel, the recommendations I'd always come across was to avoid using it. Not sure how soon I'll be trying it out, but it's definitely on my list of materials/techniques...

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah I mean if you seal the foam with glue it’s fine because you’re hard shelled it, but like anything it can be fragile so just be mindful

      @@OilersWorkshop no worries, been a fan a while, just not enough time to watch as much as i’d like to, but always impressed by concepts/designs within:) you’ll definitely be a huge inspiration for me once i get to stage of dioramas - and with that goldmine you’re sitting on, phew-wee! Got a lot to get through:)
