cracks me up that Roger wrote "Sheer Heart Attack", then Queen puts out an album called "Sheer Heart Attack" without putting "Sheer Heart Attack" on the "Sheer Heart Attack" album.
Occasionally I forget how versatile Queen is and then I listen to them and remember. Hadn't seen this version and Freddie going off on stage is now one of my favorite Queen-moments. Some light vandalism is always fun. But most important note of the day is of course the fact that shoes are shoes (unless they are sponsors)!
Haven't heard this song for years to be honest, good to see your reaction to more early queen when they were at their wildest, still plenty to go , keep them coming
Thank you for being the only people i have seen who have reacted to any of this "Live killers" set that Queen did. There is a live album and video. THIS is the Queen I liked back then when they were rock n roll :)
ALWAYS do the studio version first. Anyway this song was a response for the punk scene it was their p*ss take of a punk song. Came out pretty good, I think.
Someday, you might want to watch _Queen Live Montreal 1981 with commentary_ . Roger and Brian comment through the whole concert and it's just a hoot to see how naughty Roger can be and how Brian ignores his bawdy comments. It's an amazing experience. BUT, why I share that is that during "Sheer Heart Attack," Brian describes Freddie "eating the guitar" as Freddie crawls under Brian and mimics... um... _something_ . Then Freddie goes to Roger's drum set and Roger explains that Freddie often got "quite violent" when he did that in concerts, yanking on his cymbals. What amazes me is that during any concerts where Freddie was all up in their faces or even touching them, the guys just keep plugging away as if it was just another day. Such professionalism and apparently Freddie's actions never surprised them. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall after one of those dramatic experiences to hear what the conversation sounded like! Okay, and Coach and Mrs. Coach, you two are SO wonderful. I adore you both and LOVE your Queen reactions! Thank you!
Hello team! So that’s not rock n roll, my friends? I knew you would like this song! yes it's another side of queen indeed, this group can do everything musically, funky, blues, rock, it's a group without limits. Thank you for trusting me, I've been a big, big Queen fan since I was 13, so I know what I'm talking about! So I have another song, rather a mix of Queen to offer you, these songs are not by them, but covered in their own way, and here again rock n roll Queen version I'll give you the link...
Hello Mr & Mrs Coach. Shear Heart Attack. Wow. It was fashionable for bands to wreck guitars hotel rooms at this time. Queen doing what I call hard Rock is great. May I suggest you do reaction to Death on Two Legs
Love this... exuberant.. performance! Freddie playing up to the crowd, as always. I can't help wondering about the sound quality of the recovered video, I could really hear very little of Brian's guitar, and none of John's bass that I could pick out... This is from one of a series of concerts arranged at the Hammersmith Odeon by Paul McCartney to raise funds for the victims of the wars raging in Cambodia under the reign of Pol Pot. Other artists who took part were The Who, Wings, Elvis Costello, The Clash, and others. Apparently they were broadcast on BBC1, but I can't say I have any memory of watching them.
Hi Mr & Mrs Coach, how are you? I'm loving your Queen reaction here :) this tune is one of their best rock out's and this is the lads at their hard rocking best! Yes, Freddie was in destructive mode but was just being Freddie hehe. There was so much energy in performing this and during Roger & Brian's dvd commentary of their Montreal '81 concert - especially this song, Roger quipped "Oh great, this is just what I need at the end of a show." This concert at the Hammersmith theater in London in 1979 was done on Boxing day (December 26th) and was a benefit concert for Kampuchea (now Cambodia) & the last show before the end of that year. I highly recommend Keep Yourself Alive live in Montreal 1981- it's another fast paced rockfest tune and it's one of the best live versions of it that they've ever done.
Saw them 84`in Munich Olympiahalle. They taped that Concert Run in Brazil, called Rock in Rio, its on YT just take an Peak:) Punk Inlets like This werent in the Show Anymore, but They are, together with Pink Floyd and Nightwish my biggest impacting Memories in 55 yrs , when it comes to Live Gigs. This 3 Combos are so invested , nearly surreal:) Great Recap, Coaches. Stay healthy!
Love the line - “Turn on the tv, let it drip right down in your eyes”. Those lyrics are so Roger Taylor! Lol. Thanks for another great reaction. I wasn’t sure if you’d like this one or not. X
Queen the real is band Hard rock with classical influence . In early '80 much pop rock Band good album , sometime and bad hot in space. Only Innuendo very masterpiece. In end of '80
Speed metal before it was a thing. Great song and thank you for your reactions. Rockers drop to their knees a lot during shows so that is part of it but also for a brief period of time, knee pads were cool for some reason, perhaps because roller skating was such a big deal. A lot of guitar players wear knee pads under their pants, you can see them when they move around, I know I have seen Slash wearing them and a few others. Brian seemed to be wearing them for a time but he ended up having a knee replacement and since then, he doesn't drop to a knee when he plays, I suspect under advisement of his orthopedic surgeon. Freddie getting mean on the equipment was him poking fun at what was going on with punk groups at the time.
Yes, high energy live performance, but sorry you needed to hear the original version first which is written and sung by Roger! Never loved the way Freddie sang this one. The drum fill in the middle of the song alone is worth the price of admission!
Hi folks! This is the one track I always start with when my (new) fellow headbangers sniff when I mention Queen-those who think they did nothing before "Bohemian Rhapsody". Their first three albums were loaded with heavy stuff (thanks, Doc!) and live it was even better. This one was covered by a metal band called Heathen back, oh jeez, probably 35 years ago and it smokes! And of course, Metallica did their good work, but this one is always the one I start with. And as far as Freddie's live antics go, you shoulda been there when he recreated that most interesting scene from Nijinsky's interpretation of L'Apres-midi d'un Faune". Didn't need a camera, was just burned into my brain. Good times. And for the record, I dig Kool and the Gang, too! Love you guys!
I saw Kool and the Gang at Wembley Stadium in 84. They were one of the supports for Elton John. They were excellent. You should do a video for the group Jethro Tull in 1977. Ian Anderson is the front man and is all over the place and very charismatic on stage. Thick As A Brick from 77 is great.
I don't really like the song, but great reaction as always!!! P.S. Please, PLEASE, do "Death on Two Legs", I want to see your reaction to the "sweet" lyrics 😁
Your puzzled looks make me think maybe you might check out the official lyric video. Hard to catch all those lyrics first time round! That was a game changer for me - wild fun song remembering "17." Yes, done other times without the vandalism drama (for punk punctuation).
hey hey! Hello my American friends!! I come back from vacation and what I find...Sheer heart attack! I thought you had forgotten the little Frenchman! Finally you posted my suggestion, I thought I would never see it! thank you very much, do you understand why I wanted it? there are other live versions of sheer heart attack, but this one is the soft version! I hope that my suggestion appealed to you and I knew that this style suited you, but Queen made others, thank you for trusting me, and I will come with other suggestions, always in this rock spirit !! I think of you, Philippe
They were certainly able to afford those loudspeakers. Roger wrote this song, but he was the least enthusiastic one about doing it live as an encore because it was so physically demanding. I guess he didn't need to hit the gym after that!
Hay momestos donde el artista demuestra todo su talento en el escenario y es impresionante .Yo les recomiendo "Urgent" de Foreigner en deer creek 1993. Es su mejor versión de esa icónica canción.
OMG… “What’s with the knee pads?” “Well, using protection is important!” 🫣🫣🫣😂 BTW, that was a FAKE speaker that they had put onstage, just so Freddie could knock it over and beat it up.😅
The studio version is far superior to this. Queen were far more a studio band than live, simply because they naturally couldn't recreate on stage what they did in the studio, for so many of their songs. I wish reaction channels would stop watching so many live performances. Music is for listening to.
We respect that viewpoint, but we strongly prefer live versions. We believe music is an art and nothing can replace the energy of live performances. We'd take a live over a studio any day as it is more raw, and seeing the connection between the artists and the crowd cannot be replicated in studio versions. Thanks for watching!
Are you for real . Freddie doesn’t want his songs to sound like the studio versions when he sings live . Queen is the best live band you could ever see . Are you even a Queen fan ? Please if you don’t understand anything about Queen then don’t comment at all thankyou .
🇬🇧 Norfolk with you , Sir Brian May built his guitar with his dad with parts from around the house ! The whammy bar is the arm off a record player . He uses an old silver sixpence as a pic
Queen é muito bom

because the track was'nt finished in time, but it would be great to hear a rough 1974 version to see how it compares to the 1977 version 👑👑🇬🇧

Yes, and of course the other important take away that using protection is important. LOL
it was staged
This always makes them crazy😮 xx

We didn't realize this was a rare reaction, but we enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Haha absolutely brilliant reaction Queen at their rocking best ❤❤😊
Thanks, we appreciate you!
Roger Taylor once said that playing this song live was murder for him on the drums. Can't think why? LOL
Not surprised...that was a fast beat.
Bread and butter for a metal.drummer
Brings back happy memories, my first of many many times seeing them.
ALWAYS do the studio version first.

Queen's rebuttal to PUNK ROCK.
This was written before Punk came out by Roger
