Some of my favorite forms of media are when the creators actually acknowledge how emotionally intelligent kids are and represent complex relationships and trust that their viewers will understand and I think that Steven universe is just one of those shows that does this well and in a fun playful way. Also amazing art as aways 🤩

I think adults would be able to get more out of Steven Universe though

kind of reminds me of shows like bluey because they’re for kids but adults can also learn sm from them (as well as kids)

@@3peas1pod I mean, Steven Universe has a lot more mature content then Bluey. For example, Steven Universe quite literally has scenes written to teach kids about the concept of someone's consent being violated in a relationship. No literal sexual assault is shown but they do it in a way that makes it really clear what your supposed to be reminded of.

that’s true I was just comparing two shows that are technically considered “kids shows” but still have lessons for kids and adults - bluey may not be as mature , but there’s still episodes that cover things like miscarriages and things! I think any cartoon that’s able to teach lessons to both kids and adults is super important, and steven universe def paved the way for that 😋

When it comes to Rose I feel Empathetic reasons being roses character Ark is done in the reverse there's also the fact that Rose came from abusive family life and I don't think she intentionally manipulated Pearl On purpose I think when it comes to Rose faking her Shattering I look at it in a different light it was more to the fact she wanted to get out of her abusive household and I'm just taking this out of my personal experiences and at times you will do nearly anything to get out of that situation and sometimes you do unintentionally hurt other people in the process to get out of that home life so that's the way I see the situation I don't think she intentionally manipulates Pearl I think she was only thinking about getting out for Family life and to be free
When it comes to Pearl and Rose's relationship Rose never said or did anything about reciprocating Pearl's feelings in any way and understood there was a power imbalance she knew she would never reciprocate Pearl's feelings so she never encouraged them and instead looked elsewhere, Greg. There is also the fact that she definitely put a barrier between herself and Pearl on purpose because of the power imbalance she intentionally put the barrier and boundaries to try to indicate that a romantic relationship wasn't going to happen.
This doesn't excuse any of her past actions but does explain and these are just my personal thoughts

I can see where you’re coming from! though maybe not intentionally, rose did lead pearl on in a sense - I think the best way would’ve been for her to shut down any prospect of a relationship by outright telling pearl. since pearl was made to always follow rose, it makes the dynamic more complicated. though I can def see your pov!
