One thing I never realized about this scene until watching Kevin James’ parody is that, once the old man wins the coin toss, Anton is genuinely happy for him (well, as happy as a cold-blooded assassin can be, I suppose). Javier Bardem’s character truly saw himself as an agent of fate, so seeing fate reward an elderly father and husband did not upset him at all. @@jayroo10 One thing a lot of people living outside the US does not grasp about the US is it’s sheer size and complexity. And I don’t fault them. Chances are I know very little about the comings and goings of where you are from. That’s just how it is. Not being elitist in any way - a propensity some of my dumber countryman seem to have. There are a boundless amount of cultures, localized dialects, accents, phrases, and traditions that cross this country. Hell, I myself as a full blown citizen living here my entire life am still learning about some of them despite being far more traveled and curious than the average American citizen. It takes longer to traverse my own one of 50 states than it does a lot of countries in this world, and within this one state there are a wide variety of extremely differing people and cultures. That’s just one state out of 50. Words and phrases on one end of this state are commonly understood within their locale but completely foreign to someone who doesn’t know the local lingo. Having lived on both sides of the state for considerable periods of time I’m probably one of the few who can interchange between those lingos and full on understand the conversations happening with me and around me. My girlfriend despite living in the same country as myself has an entirely different accent, set of phrases, etc. due to the fact that we grew up more than 500 miles apart. The US is much, much bigger and expansive than outsiders would give credit for as I’ve seen in the past. The only country who could possibly one up us in that department would be Russia, and that’s because you could fit several US’s inside of it. Imagine all of Europe as one country, and then you may get a feel for what it is like to visit different corners of the US.

That has to be one of the greatest scenes in a thriller. The tension between the characters. We as the audience knows just how violent the antagonist can be and the clerks starts to realize the danger that has walked into his store. Great job Kevin for the reenactment that was funny but didn’t detract from the original.

Not true at all. We're fans which is why we follow but he's a middle man in the acting world. He stays in that role. He tried to go outside of it with Becky but he wasn't believable as a Neo Nazi. would love to see adam sandler make another movie with the boys but this time a serious one so they can all put their chops on display
@@WEWILLNVRREST Sandler is trash
@@Pube83 he is a seriously underrated actor...
If he ever gets tired of being a sound guy, he has a pretty good future as an actor. Just sayin...
Nah, max he can get is a part in some Adam Sandler movie
@@rost3939 maybe something where he can develop as an actor? A soap? A sitcom, yea I think sitcom could work!
@@profgamble7012 Too bad Jerry Stiller's no longer with us, he'd play great off of this guy.
@@frigginresulrum oh you mean that charismatic elderly? Yea, indeed would be a good match. Some kind of fatherly role would suit the both of them. Nice idea!
@@profgamble7012 Kevin Gable as a fatherly figure? He'd probably end up killing his wife.
Bro you got to make more of these
One thing I never realized about this scene until watching Kevin James’ parody is that, once the old man wins the coin toss, Anton is genuinely happy for him (well, as happy as a cold-blooded assassin can be, I suppose). Javier Bardem’s character truly saw himself as an agent of fate, so seeing fate reward an elderly father and husband did not upset him at all. In fact, I’d wager Chigurh came out of that store thinking: “He had an altercation with me and lived to tell the tale. Lucky bastard.”
that's a good realization, i reckon
There's another video on YT explaining the Chigurh character in that way, you might want to look it up if you haven't already seen it and you've come to these conclusions on your own.
Rafael Borges any relation to Jorge Luís?
Not that I know of, @@Pencil0fDoom, but I'm happy to carry his surname all the same.
He actually despised the storekeeper
These skits show Kevin James is way better than many of his movies.
More writers kill careers more than anything
It's pretty dry and boring...put an average person instead of Kevin and this wouldn't get 100 views.
I disagree, I find they are pretty funny! But not everybody likes the same humor. I gotta say though I agree with the original comment, most of Kevin James movies are trash imo, like 0th degree humor, this seems a bit more thought of.
@@ChessJourneyman Nonsense. The production value is the standout thing about these skits.
You must be thinking of the movie “Becky.”
I was never a big Kevin James fan but I love NO Country For Old Men and this was gold. Well done, you've won my heart Kevin.
That movie was pretty boring.
WOW, i actually forgot for a second that i wasn't watching the real thing. Kevin really flexing his acting chops.
Strangely enough, this might be Kevin James' best work. He really got into the feel of the scene. He seemed genuinely freaked out.
Alright stop, he was Great on king of queens he just works with shitty writers alot of the time that's why most of his movies were trash

Don’t you love when that happens
You're replication of the man's accent and facial expressions is uncannily accurate. Well done indeed!
it's not hard when they're both Americans LOL
@@jayroo10 What does being American have to do with it?
It's "your". "you're" is short for "you are".
@@DracoPadilla ummm
Geee I dunno, THE ACCENT maybe? 🤔 What kind of stup1d question is that?
3:53 hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I’m watching this again years later and it’s still funny

That's highly subjective
I got lost in his acting and forgot what I was watching...

Well said!
I appreciate you now more than ever, Kevin James. This is really good stuff
A scene so well scripted, directed, casted, and produced that even in this parody I'm on edge. Thank you Kevin for covering No Country! I've been following your Sound Guy skits since I Am Legend ("NOOO!" - "Yes")
I am a massive Kevin James fan. How in the world have I missed this for so long?!?!?😂😂😂😂
Damn. That's was just as intense as the real movie. Man that character freaks me out!

We NEED an American Psycho Sound Guy!
That would be amazing!!!! Especially when he is dancing around to Su Su Sudio...
YES!!! American Psycho is one of my fav movies. Let's make it happen ^_^
One of the best scenes ever. Gene Jones was perfect in it, and I love that you pay tribute to it AND him AND still make it fun at the end.
Awesome movie. I like how there's no music to it. Really lets the acting create the atmosphere.
@@angelone1839 Indeed! The fact that it's so good most don't even notice the lack of score. Don't get me wrong, I love a good score but a lot of movies will leeeeean on a score to much, "this is where we want you to cry" "this is where we want you to get inspired" They do it because it works, works well BUT the feat to have none AND still a great movie...whew.
@@somethnew yeah there are movies with great scores like Gladiator, Titanic, and even Rocky.

Kevin James took one of the scariest moments on film & made it funny. Thank You ❤️
Anton from No Country for Old Men is probably the scariest villain ever.
He's the guy who dismembers you, and his pulse never gets above 70.
Villain? He gave this guy everything! 😁
Kevin Spacey's guy in Seven and Hannibal Lecter edge him out.

The best part haha
Yeah I saw that 2 🤣
That has to be one of the greatest scenes in a thriller. The tension between the characters. We as the audience knows just how violent the antagonist can be and the clerks starts to realize the danger that has walked into his store. Great job Kevin for the reenactment that was funny but didn’t detract from the original.
Yeah I love the sound of the candy wrapper expanding after he crumbles it and puts it on the counter. Such a non-conventional but effective way to build suspense. Good even in the Kevin James version.
Yeah, great dialogue in the script! 😀
too bad this was so goddamn boring. Kevin James is bunk 😮💨
Kevin James low key flexing his acting skills. Hope casting agents are paying attention. 😬

Victim of Hollywood type casting
This guy is really talented
My thoughts exactly.
Not true at all.
We're fans which is why we follow but he's a middle man in the acting world. He stays in that role.
He tried to go outside of it with Becky but he wasn't believable as a Neo Nazi.
If he did a Chris Pratt then he could break from the every man roles but until he changes his stature in the eyes of not just his fans then he'll forever be that guy...
Guy has a net worth of 100M I think he'll survive lol
@@Milamasylum83 so you think he has to get a sixpack to be considered a better actor and get out of the "middle man" box? Interesting. I can think of so many actor and actresses who look like Kevin and are A-listers in Hollywood.
