I struggled to find some demos of the MEGA fm by Twisted Electrons so I decided to do my take on it.

So did this end up multitimbral like the actual Sega Genesis? Or did you have to record the drums and other layers ahead of time/separately?

If you want the multimbral genesis, look up the DAFM Synth. It's a very fiddly little box that contains a YM2612 (just one, not two like the MegaFM), with all parameters controllable through MIDI.
