  • This video is a tutorial on making a boost pedal at home with your own hands. This is a pretty easy way and the one in the video I've made in a few minutes.
What is the booster for? Sometimes you need to increase your guitar volume to make your amp give more distortion and drive. And this thing can drive for sure. That's why I called it - Boost Driver!
Just imagine faces of your friends (if you have them) when they will see this pedal in your pedalboard! But besides this pedal is super original and beautiful - it is also a real working booster.
If you like make guitar effects pedals yourself, you may also like my another video - DIY Volume Pedal For Guitar In 3 Minutes (DIY Attenuator stomp box For AMP) • How To Make A Volume P...
For DIY Booster you will need:
    Transistor 2N5088
2 identical 150nF Film Capacitors (often they are marked as 0.15uF)
    10k resistor
    830k resistor
    360 ohms resistor
    100k resistor
    100k potentiometer
    soldering iron
    electrical tape
    wires
    DPDT Foot Switch Push Button
2 jacks - stereo for input and mono for output
    9-volt DC power jack socket
For pedal enclosure you can use a tin candy box, a box from a craft store or a hand cream container. But you can think outside the box - and use something absolutely unpredictable. For example - toy car.

I use this boost design a lot but with different component values, I first learned this design from DIY guitar pedals' channel. But the car took this video to a whole new level, love this enclosure idea. Other than it pranking you and reversing every time you try to turn it on or off. 😆

Very nice video, i really learn a lot.. thanks
    2 qeustions
1- Why you put stereo jack for input?
2- your boost is seems like a low overdrive pedal, if we want to build cleaner boost what type of transistors, resistors and caps should we use?
    Thanks.

tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2017/03/earthquaker-devices-black-eye.html is a really nice clean boost. Also acts as an attenuator when you turn down below 12 o'clock

@@franckforster5451 I've built mine the way it is described(i've tripple checked) some components are different. Like the potentiometer is a 50k(is that a problem?)
Anyway. The signal is VERY low? where could the problem be?

The tutorial is super, but is it really so hard to say the letter D? ´´The´´ is pronounced D and not Z. Ze booster pedal. Say after me: D, D, D, David not Zavid. The Duck - D Duck, not Ze Duck.
