I'm picking up my ragdoll girl - Ava - in two weeks and can't wait. She's a seal point bicolor. I've been looking at ragdoll videos and just happened to come across yours and now I'm just trying to be patient. Henry is certainly a cutie, or should I say very handsome. I took in a stray cat many years ago and then a feral kitten but it's been years since their passing. I also had 2 dogs and lost one 3 years ago and the other just this past June. Each were 17 years old when they passed on. Because we have cold, snowy winters, walking the dogs was not always pleasant, especially as they aged (as did I). The ragdoll seemed to be the perfect answer for me with it's dog-like temperament. Have lots of fun with Henry as I expect I will with Ava.

I always try to reply to everyone! I’m from nz and I got mine from hammer hardware but you can also get big bags from bunnings or mitre 10 😊 If you’re not from nz just look it up on google and the nearest stockists to you should come up 😍👍🏼
Ragdolls like all people and don’t favor one person and they also don’t like the door being shut, I’m getting a ragdoll too soon!! I can’t wait they look so cute! I just thought I would give you some small tips, they also like a lot of attention lol. Hope this helps xx
Yees I’ve had our ragdolls for nearly a year now they’re awesome pets! Funny how each one can be so different and they can act differently with certain people- like with my partner henry is more playful and silly and wants to hunt with him hit with me he’s more loving and always is in my room lying next to me haha!
Have you got a quiet house and have him in a small room? Also make sure to approach slowly and make him curious with toys and try lure him out- offer him food in there and give him little pats- that’s what I did and all worked well! You’ve got to keep him in the cage he came in so that’s his comfort point 😊
He used to a little bit but not anymore- as soon as we got a big cat tower with scratching posts and a little scratching wave pad- he uses that all the time! I just got my scratching pad from Kmart 🥰
There’s a spray by Aristopets called No Scratch and I’ve used it with my rag doll kitten to discourage scratching. It works really well. You can get it at animates and other pet stores
i used to not like cats but my bf's family have a lot of cats at their house so i started to really like playing with them. watching this video makes me want to get a ragdoll cat of my owwwn! 😭
A cat meowing is a way of communicating with you and they may want/need something. Perhaps they want to play with you, need attention or food, or something is bothering them? I am quite responsive to my cats so if they meow I check their food bowl or let them have a play outside, and sometimes it's just following them and they will lead you to the problem! E.g a broken toy, a full litter box or an insect they cant reach on the roof etc!
@@AlyshiaJonesMathie there is food and water a nd a nice litter box present which she loves btw, but she still meows...at first I thought it was because it was her first days but she still does it...maybe she doesn't feel comfortable with us?

Stacey Jones ragdolls are so cuddly and docile and follow you around the house everywhere just like a dog! They’re so intelligent too they can learn to fetch, sit etc! Definitely a special breed haha!
Not in all cases. Depending on circumstances. Me and my partner are his companions as we work from home and my partner has every second week off. He’s super spoiled and is very well trained! He is super happy- but because I want another one we are at the end of the year. Henry will probably get jealous in the beginning I can see it now 😂😂
They are very cute as lots of other kittens that are euthanised because nobody cares. Ragdolls as other breed will live less than normal healthy stray cats and will develop lots of illnesses like kidney disease and tumors. I had 20 years ago 2 balinese very similar to ragdolls and both were very sick. Thanks I had insurance my bills were less. I didnt buy them as a lady in a farm told me that couldnt look after the kittens and her children as it was difficult to sell them living in a remote area. I have now tabbies and black cats and they are very strong and healthy and never ill and easy to care. Ragdolls and other breeds have sensitive digestive system and they vomit often. Please next time adopt and dont promote breeding. For every 3 or 4 kittens that sell always one is less nourished and die as the owners concentrated in get the mum pregnant again as a machine. Animals are not machines but sentients.
I have done lots of research into the ragdoll breed and the lovely people we brought them from- Henry’s mum and dad have a clear history of kidney diseases and other DNA traits which was very important to me! Ragdolls are actually the longest living cats! They live up to 20 years which is longer than an average cat- a lot of that would have to be due to the fact they live indoors so are safer from getting runned over and being exposed to diseases and illnesses! I would have adopted as it is so something I believe people should do but sadly ragdolls are hard to come by and this is the breed I was set on! I can see such differences than other cat breeds- they’re closer to dogs than cats and are super gentle! Henry is healthy and happy but thanks for your concern and thanks for watching! 😊❤️
Omg I know I was thinking that watching back the video! Didn’t even think at the time because we were just so excited to bring him in the house 😂😂😂 He warmed up so quickly though and atleast he got used to fortnight sounds quickly as it’s played often 😉😂😂😂

Tip if ur cat is very energetic or can't calm down cover the cage the dark calms them down..
Yees I should of covered the cage when I first got him but luckily he’s all settled in now 😍👏🏼
