Well yes. Capitol Records owns the rights to the original recording, and The Beatles (today, just Paul and Ringo) own the rights to the composition. So only Capitol Records can copyright strike you if you play the actual original recording, and only Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr can copyright strike you if you play a cover of the song. Obviously, paul and ringo are not spending their time going around youtube taking down covers of beatles songs, even though they legally could. That's why it doesnt get taken down.

George, according to Lennon, was not at the pool but inside the ranch house, about 300 feet or so above where the pool was. One of the great days of my life.....when I got up that morning, I had not idea the Beatles were within a thousand miles of Alton, Mo. However, our local TV station, Channel 8 in Jonesboro, broke open the news around noon, showing a film that was taken when they arrived at the Walnut Ridge, Ar airport, around 5 am that morning. From there, they took a small plane to the private airstrip at the Pigman Ranch, about 60 miles away. I happen to see that news on TV...and told my friends....It took several hours to convince them that I was not lying, for no one else in our community had seen this news. To me, Lennon will always be the best...he was interested in four young guys..and stopped the guard from having us arrested. He was engaging and interested in the music we liked and told us all about the history of their group and the artists they most admired. Ivor Davis, the writer who traveled with the group on their early tours, held a seminar at the annual Walnut Ridge Beatles Fest about two years ago. He was not at Alton with them but when he heard about me being there, he asked me to give a 15 minute summary to the attendees, relating our experience that day. It was a time I will never forget
