There was a dude who bought a police Crown Vic direct from the police. They sold it to him with the full livery still on the vehicle, with a receipt and all. So he took it around driving and eventually, was pulled over and the same police tried to charge him with impersonation. In court, the police refused to accept that they had sold the car as they had but the dude was able to prove they had to a judge, who dismissed all charges and had a note written that the dude was to keep in the car at all times, stating that the car had been purchased legally and that he was allowed to drive as it was, livery and all.
