I started following you not quite long, but your style of presentation and briefs have added more skills to my kit bags. OC's and future leaders have and will appreciate your teachings. I am sharing your pages with my team and Soldiers. Thank you so much.
Thank you, SSG Chamberlain. You have made this process much clearer. I only wish you had a video where an OPORD was being briefed and you actually fill the complete OPORD shell based on the brief that was given....but this video was a big help!
I will work to make that a reality within the next month or so. Our FEB drill is all lanes training, so I'm sure I can sneak one in. Thanks for the recommendation!
Very decent video, SSG. This is helpful in breaking down each individual section of the OPORD, and where the info comes from (ie. Briefing from higher vs. Info the PL or SL needs to create). The timeline planning was also helpful. PLEASE continue to make videos like this. You made reference to it in this video but I didn't see it yet in your video playlist, but please do a brief video on planning and conducting the WARNO at the PLT/SQD (OCS) level. Maybe do a video on how to conduct a terrain model, etc.
Good evening SSG!! My Class had FLX Last weekend. During the lanes i had a mission (conduct an ambush) with priority of fires… but i didn’t use them . A target should be planned in advance prior LD? Are those TRP’s? Or could i call for fire right next to the OBJ..? (600 mt danger close) Thanks
I'll start with the obligatory "ask your grader" response here, because they're the ones who determine how serious fires are taken. 1st and foremost, you do not have to use your fires. You do, however, have to plan your fires to show you're considering your mission and all force multipliers available to you. Which means, you need to request a TRP when you're briefed. The experience of your grader with fires will determine how much info you have to give them to set your TRP. A truck driver, like myself, will often just let you ask for a TRP and give it to you. An Artillery officer will likely want more info. Here's what Oklahoma requires: Mission: Fire For Effect (FFE) Grid: XXX XXX Target Description: Size, Composition, Activity, Protection (in open, bunkers, etc) Guns: XX mm cannons (given to you in your OpOrd) Type of Ammo: Generally using HE rounds here.

Thank you, I appreciate it.
I hope it helps you to move on in your career, as well as understanding another way to connect/teach your Soldiers.

Thank you, SSG your videos are a great asset to OC's who truly want to succeed.
I appreciate that! If you need anything else just comment and I'll get to work on it.
Oh, and trigger:
"At my command"
"Time on Target"

@@OCSSchoolHouse thanks as always SSG!
What about mission end state?
I believe it is missing on the video. Place it where you’ve been taught
