This is huge! I bought some cheep lights off of Amazon so I can start learning how to program lights. I'm only going to be using them when I'm working out in my garage so I didn't want to break the bank, but I could not figure out how to add fixtures to QLC. You saved me so much time and many headaches.

Holy smokes your video is so much easier to understand and follow than the one I used last time I created custom fixtures. (I forgot what I had to do, and have some new SHEHDS lights arriving in 3 days). Thank you so much for this! (From a theatre producer and technical director in North Central Florida).

Thanks for this. I hadn't realised that you need at least one mode even if your lights do not support more than one. Really helpfull... new sub

Very cool. I had no idea there was a separate fixture editor. The Simple Desk looks a lot better with the proper icons above the sliders ;-) Thank you!

Very helpful. Thanks. I do have a question: How do you get the QLC Monitor to simulate the strobe or effects. It seems to work for RGB and dimmer only

I have a couple of off brand lasers and I was able to program them with this tutorial!. I just need to figure out how to create an automated show for a prerecorded audio file. Thank you!

They key to thisvideo, that you don't get until the end 15:20, is the location of the fixtures. I you have an incorrect folder, it may have very inconsistent results. Also, I find that the new fixture does not appear because the .xml file FixtureMap.xml is not being udated. If I am able to trick around and get the fixture to load, it will be missing in the very next session of QLC. Probably a bug.

I followed your steps to add moving heads fixtures but when I use the channels, I cant get the light to come out and the lights reset by themselves.

Fantastic Video! Whoops, wrong username haha. Don't matter. I'm a Keyboard Player myself. Thank you so much for helping me out bro! I got all the Channels and it's more simpler than Freestyler.

Hi, your video has been a great help to me over the last 2 years. At the moment I have tried to add a new fixture for a Ibiza Led bar 24 RC . I have created the fixture using all 58 chn's + 8 hds in a 8x1 layout, the dmx view in the simulator all looks good but in 2d I get a long oblong with 1 light in the middle where you would expect 8 lights in a row. Have you ever come across this problem before, please help me if you can, having created many other fixtures with no problem this one is sending me crazy, Thanks in advance

I have now had confirmation from the QLC+ community this problem is a glitch in the version 4 software when displaying LED bars in the 2d simulator so the lessons learned from your video on producing fixture profiles has been successful for me, great result thanks to you 👍
