I Tried Boxing in Mexico for 30 Days (here's how it went...)

  • For the past 30 days, I trained boxing in Mexico. Mexico has more boxing world champions than any country on earth and I wanted to see if I have what it takes to learn to box like a Mexican! I have always admired Mexican boxers for their speed, power, aggression, and most of all- their heart. Boxing is a hugely popular sport in Mexico and to have the opportunity to learn more about the country that we call home from inside of a boxing ring was a true honor. It is one things to watch it on TV or from the stands, but it is a completely different feeling to be standing toe to toe against an opponent inside of the ring. Of course I learned a lot physically along the way and improved a great deal, but more importantly, I learned a lot of life-changing lessons.
Thank you to Pato and his team for training me! They tried their best! 😂

True i've been trying to study the greats my self as a small guy like El Finito Lopez. And oh my god getting the timing and precision with each movement almost feels inhuman. And i'm also practicing other hard styles like High Guard, Peekaboo, Philly Shell, Low Guard, Cross Guard so on and so forth. Each one has there own challenges to overcome. But man combining them together gives me a thrill.
Like throwing Thomas Hearns style Flicker Jabs out of a Philly Shell to confuse people. The options are truly endless in boxing way more then people make it out. Boxers like Lomachenko show us what happens when you combine as many skills as you can attain and grab. Kind of like that whole Bruce Lee philosophy of "take what is useful for you and discard what is useless". As well as the whole "be like water" quote.
You have to flow your tools together as one on reaction without even having to think about it. Always having multiple defensive and offensive plays and tools in hand at all times. Never giving an opening never dropping your guard. Luring your opponent into a false sense of security only to switch up at last second.

My sentiments exactly. I think a very large percentage of USA /Canadian viewers have kin in some parts of Europe, Far East, Middle East, China, Italy etc. living in a state of fear of nuclear war and terrorist threats. But when it comes to interesting places to explore, Mexico, Central America, S, America will remain an interesting, adventurous study for years and years and hundreds of years to come. Heck there's still villages and pyramids being discovered and carved from jungles, tribes not yet discovered and people who celebrate life every day with music and dance just because they can. Welcome home Kennons and thank you.

I have just runned in into your channel . I was born in Mexico michoacan. Jumped the border while I was asleep on my mom's arms. Am americanized so much that the fellow Mexicans and paisas hear me speak Spanish they get surprised by my Spanish. Anyways it filled my heart with joy watching you guys as a couple your videos and supporting Mexico 🇲🇽 at the world cup. You inspired me to plan on attending the next world cup with my 4 yr old daughter. Hopefully when she's 8 well attend a world cup game.
