  • During the stone-age the Stonehenge Circus entertained cavemen and women. The circus had a dinosaur that doubled as a trampoline and tightrope for the acrobats.

Thank you for posting. I grew up in the 1950s with silent cartoons on from 0600 to 0700 hrs on our TV. Most TV stations didn't come on until 0700 so I got bonus time. I still enjoy silent films. Good Luck, Rick

in the NYC area, there were silent cartoons, set to music, on Saturday mornings. In particular, I wish I could find the one set to the 5th movement of Mussorgsky's "Pictures on Exhibition"; “The Ballet of Unhatched Chicks in Their Shells”

in NYC in the early 60's it was probably the ABC affiliate. They also aired "follow the bouncing ball" sing-along B&W cartoons

@@deleted_why So probably Channel 7. What was Channel 5's call sign in N.Y.? I can't believe that forgot it. Did you get any Ct. Stations back then? We had NY's 3 network plus WNET channel 13 NY's PBS + WPIX 11 (for Sun. Morn. Abbott + Costello. Officer Joe Bolton + the Stooges during the week. Was it Capt. Jack McCarthy). Ct. had its own ABC, CBS, NBC, + PBS plus yours and I almost forgot WOR (I think they used the theme from Gone W/The Wind"s theme for the 'After Dinner Theatre'.)

@@thack57 they used Gone With the Wind for the "Million Dollar Movie", Saturday afternoon.
You just brought back many memories!
I was in Long Island. I don't think we got CT TV but we certainly had "line of sight" from Bayville/ Locust Valley

@@deleted_why We we were weird kids for knowing all this stuff? I swear, I spent lots of time outdoors but these movies, + TV shows seem to be even more pleasant memories. I dont know (he shrugs😲). Well here's the opening sequence from WOR Channel 9
@david_why I laugh whenever I look up what's playing at the movies on IMDB and they show closest theatres by Mileage and they show me theatres in Sag Harbor and other L.I. movie houses as being closer than many that I've gone to because they using 'As the Crow flies' miles and I'm always 'If only', I'd love to go to some of L.I.'s 🎥 theatres. Anyways... Here's the opening of 'WOR's Million Dollar Movie'
