After nearly dropping a bike...again...I borrowed my friend's dual-sport bike which is ridiculously high, and spent 30 minutes figuring out how to balance a bike when not being able to flatfoot it. Never dropped another bike again. Unless you're really short, like 5 feet tall, and maybe not even then, I think most riders are better served by simply learning to ride a tall bike instead of modifying the bike to be shorter.
