if you wanna sing songs about the rural country life, you gotta live in the big city of Nashville.
My father Forrest Parker is a world renowned steel guitar player, he’s played with all the greats! He says to write 100 songs then, and only then will you be ready to write ONE!! I’ve been fortunate to have the gift of putting lyrics to paper and putting a melody behind it! Always keep learning, growing and critiquing yourself
Love it !!!
I thought CMA meant Country My Ass. You learn something new every day.
What a great video. I just played my first show “in the round” at Douglas corner cafe’.. idk what I’d do without songwriting and performing on stage!
This Video is 10 years old ... Things have changed a lot in 10 years ... a lot of it doesn't work this way anymore.
Oh we need to be in Nashville?😂😂😂😂😂
Actually a job is the best place to start gotta make money and not freeze on the streets too I'm a struggling singer songwriter and Musician so Everything on God's Time
A great song and a pop country hit are usually, if not always two completely different animals.
I got songs I've wrote that I wanna do somthing with.
Correction:,you won’t make it as a Trashville country writer if you don’t live in Nashville. Plenty of Alt country songwriters are from all over the US that have made a name for themselves outside of Nashville. Good ones.... not just what you hear on mainstream radio
Let's pat each other's backs some more...
Hi i dont write a bad song i dont play live so mabe u might tell me how to give my songs for listerning to anyone
12 years ago…now in the age of TikTok I’m thinking ya don’t need to live in Nash?
Just write about drinking beer chasing women/men and getting dumped and you will have a hit. At least for a country song. I did mention beer right? And trucks.
Easy for successful songwriters to tell you how to do it. Example: man/woman with a family of 6. Advise... start having sex. But the success and character of that family now depends on how they are raised.
I was stuck on a dirt road in a Chevy yruck a girl came to me and said im a country music song riter if i needed help. Why is there young girls writing songs she does not rite her songs they wrote them and its caught up to her
I don't get it. I thought you moved to Nashville to become a singer or an artist not a songwriter. So if you are just a singer looking to make it, Nashville is not the place because it is just about songwriting?
hi guys, let me know what do u think about my songs. please help me to improve. thanks
CMA could have been the Christian or Country Music Association. Do Christian songwriters work with a different pro. organization.
