@UCNAToSe_mIr7knMqQMUev_w exactly, just a cold and unfeeling announcement like they were commenting on the weather. ITV channel 4 and GB news did a far better job than BBC. Considering the amount of money they get from the TV licence, they should of done a far better job.
She wasn't just The Queen of our nation and the common wealth to me she was The Mother of this country and a true inspiration for who we should all try to be I'm not big on the monarchy of late, but Queen Elizabeth II for all that she stood for will live on forever and will always remain in our hearts as one of the greatest people that ever lived
I am from America; and, I just wanted to say that Queen Elizabeth - in my personal opinion - was the most admired and respected and honorable person in the entire world. If only other world leaders were as competent and worthy as the Queen. She was a true leader.
Piers has said it so eloquently and so piercingly. I loved my Queen, not because she was a Queen, but because she was the very best of human kind. I am proud she was the embodiment of the United Kingdom and represented what we the British people are. One of the most faithful democracies in the world, respected, valued and for such a tiny plot of land, the British Isles, a beacon of hope, justice and compassion. That’s who we are, let’s never forget. God bless.
Lol how can everyone be so blind? The royal family is based on so many negatives.. slavery, colonisation and pure greed. Its an absolutely disgusting establishment. And needs to be abolished..
As a German I have to say that I have always admired Queen Elizabeth II. She was the lighthouse in the dark. She proved to be stable even in the biggest storm. She had principles and stayed true to them. She served her country during the war and led it through the difficult post-war period when she was proclaimed Queen at 25. A sad day for the world. But now she is back at Prince Philip's side. Rest in peace your Majesty. Condolences from Germany.
From the U.S- I think I speak for a great many people when I say this is a very sad day for the whole world, but none so much as for the people of the UK, a day remembered with "where you were/what you were doing". I've always admired Queen Elizabeth, she was a beautiful display of grace and dignity, backed up by admirable strength. My heart goes out to the Royal family, her friends and loved ones, and to the country who has lost such a grand Monarch.
"A little piece of all of us, here in Britain, died with her.". Exceedingly well put Piers. Haven't always been a fan, but I haven't heard any tribute today that is finer than yours. Whatever our differences may be in the UK, I hope we can always remain united when it really matters. Long live the King!!

I think you would be surprised how we understand in America what she means to Britain. I did. Many condolences to your entire country and every citizen on this monumental loss. She is the end of an era on top of it and part of the greatest generation. Irreplaceable. God Bless.
There are more Americans that are fond of her than many Brits would ever believe. In many cases much moreso than our own leadership for obvious reasons.
As a German, i just rewatched her last state visit to Berlin in 2015. And just to think about it: as a young woman she wore the uniform of her country being at war with Germany. And at old age she visits Germany for the seventh time like an old friend. Her life is a testimony, that things can change for the better in this world. edit: She visited Germany nine(!) times including her travels to West Berlin ❤
What an absolute perfect tribute you've paid to The Queen, Piers. She deserved praise and will be remembered as an exceptional human being even here, in France.
Thank you Mr. Morgan for masterfully announcing the passing of Queen Elizabeth II . Your tribute to her was heartfelt. You kept the coverage of this sad day, focused on the extraordinary life of the Queen in a genuine positive way. Thank you for steering the conversations away from any negative comments. Queen Elizabeth II was highly revered as she lived and in her passing. God bless you.
I am saddened to hear that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has passed away.I was born in Ireland but am an American. We loved her over here. I shared her birthday and always told my sister so. I knew it was serious when they all flew up to Balmoral. The Queen was such a lovely woman with a spiritual sense of duty to her country. She was as steadfast as a battleship with grace. May Elizabeth rest in Eternal Peace. Thank you your Majesty for your service and sense of duty. You will be truly missed. Rest now.
On the brink of death she officially met her new PM and was still deliberating over whether to take her next appointment. Her dedication and service to her nation & people was unrelenting and will remain unsurpassed. This is not a loss for Great Britain but for the world, and particularly for those of us that are part of the Commonwealth. To his dying day my late grandfather recalled being invited to Buckingham Palace as a diplomat. Her demise is utterly dispiriting, but by God did Britain get lucky with her, and to have had her reign for such a long time. RIP Ma'am. My sincere condolences to the people of Britain from Pakistan.
Thank you for the heartfelt comment. Sending my condolences and good wishes to the family and the people of the UK from Greece. R.I.P. Beloved Queen Elizabeth II. God save the King!
Piers you shocked me. You actually had me shedding tears with your statement. I am an American that has always been enthralled with your British Monarchy. RIP Her Majesty The Queen. May you rest in Peace.
Thank you. I am crying but smiling too, she was my Queen for 76 years and many American Presidents were gracious in visiting her during that time. I smile because, as we say , 96 years is a good innings. RIP lovely lady.
if you have ever fought for QUEEN AND COUNTRY then you would understand we have all lost a major part of our country today. this is a sad moment for anyone who is patriotic and who understand why we love our monarchy soo much. GOD BLESS OUR GUEEN and I am so glad I am English and have had the honour of serving the QUEEN in the Military.
Belgian here. A Great Queen has left this World, I feel sad for her family and for all the people of Great Britain. I hope that this ordeal for your great Nation will strengthen the ties that unite you all and that have made your Nation one of the greatest. My respects to all. God Save Your Queen.
I am 66 years old and have never known anything other than her as my Queen. It's hard to believe she has gone. My late father was a Welsh Guardsman and he marched behind her carriage at her coronation, he eventually received her Warrant as a senior NCO. Now my dad is guarding her again. Rest in peace Ma'am.
I like you Piers Morgan, I'm German from Berlin, living the last over 30 years in Australia and watch you all the time I hope you never shut up and keep going. ❤

What a beautiful tribute to a truly beautiful, strong, kind, and amazing woman, Her Majesty the Queen. Heartfelt sympathy for the British people from America.
I sat with my 95-year-old mother this afternoon, we live only an hour away from Balmoral, she was emotional, and spontaneously together we said a prayer for her departing soul.
God bless you EJ Johnstone and yr wonderful 95yo mum. I join in prayer with you also for the departing soul of a gracious Queen, Elizabeth ♥️ May God have Mercy on her Soul. Thank you.
She said on her 21st birthday, “I declare before you all, that my whole life, whether it be long or short, will be devoted to your service, and the service of our great imperial family, to which we all belong. God help me to make good my vow, and God bless all of you willing to share in it.”
I am an American and I want to send my deepest and most sincere condolences to the people of the UK. You have lost a most extraordinary Queen and the whole world feels it. I mourn with all of you the loss of your most beloved Queen Elizabeth II.
it has been disappointing today to see so much poison being let loose from some of your country in comments, but they have a right to free speech, it is good to see some decency and decorum
Queen Elizabeth was a woman who was admired by millions of people I am an American and I think she was wonderful I hope she rests in peace God save the King
As an Irishman I never gave the monarchy a second thought for obvious reasons but when ‘the Queen’ had her historic visit to Ireland in 2011, I can honestly say she touched every person in Ireland with her presence, words, emotional intelligence & understanding of our two nations & our history which she had to directly deal with too sadly. I’ll never forget how impressive a Queen, monarch & person she was. May she RIP.
Beautiful tribute Piers, the most respectful I’ve seen yet. Sending you all love and prayers from the US, especially to her loving family who I’m sure are deeply saddened and heart broken. What an admirable and dedicated woman that was full of Grace, love, class and will always be a well respected inspiration to so many, including myself. God save the Queen 🇬🇧 ❤️ 🙏
I was born in the Dominican Republic my father was British and raised me to honor and respect the Monarchy. Im 75 years old and still remember he had a painting of the Queen and one of Winston Churchill. Job well done your Majesty rest in peace with your love Prince Phillips. Long live the King.
Stories of this Queen inspire us all. I remember where on a state visit to Africa a native charged at her and she simply stood her ground. Help was there soon enough, but she was pint sized courage.
I feel so emotional. It's like our grandma has died and we're all feeling so sombre and lost. She was our consistency and we had complete and utter trust in her ability as well as her devotion to us all. She's always been there and I feel so bewildered that she isn't anymore.
That's an excellent way to put it. To a generation she was like an extra niece or daughter stepping in to represent the country ahead of her time, then a sister to the next generation, like a posh mom to another generation and then finally a grandmother figure who once she was called on to serve NEVER ever dropped the baton. Not for a moment, never quit, iconic Brit ! Thanks !
For us oldies the Queen was the big sister we loved and adored including in foreign lands such Swaziland, Basutoland, South Africa, Northern and Southern Rhodesia, Kenya, Ethiopia and many other countries which where at the time part of her realm - she was much revered everywhere. I remember my mother telling me as a four year old about her beloved Queen who lived in the far away country (England) from which my grandparents and her siblings had left for warmer climates. We are all so fortunate to have had such an exemplary monarch whom millions of us revered.
We are not from the GB, if we feel her loss here in Germany, I can understand how her loss tangibly left a hollow in so many hearts of the folk in the UK. 😢
She was no Queen and she is a sinner just like rest of her family lineage. They ruined various countries with control and brute violence. May a curse be put on this wicket family for eternity. Fake queens last wicked deed was saving her pedophile son the other fake Prince Andrew from a prison sentence. Yes the same fake prince linked to Jeffery Epstein. That’s how dangerous this fake queen was. A pure sinner
God Bless the Queen and May she rest in eternal peace. I hope Phillip was waiting for her with open arms on the other side of this earthly plane. I can only imagine their joy at once again being together.. Love live the King, Charles. You made me cry Piers, your words on this occasion were what needed to be said and I will likely listen several times.
May she RIP, GOD’S Speed to an amazingly loyal woman to country, commonwealth, family and loved by all!!!! Prayers from 🇺🇸 for all in Britain mourning and those around the world!!!
Thank you, Mr. Morgan, for a meaningful comment. I am a monarchist in Canada. I have studied history so I know what the responsbilities of the Royal Family are. I have read about the Queen as she did her work. I am 70...born in December, 1951. She has been the constant in my life. I have never been embarrassed by her words or her conduct. She is someone who I tried to emulate as a politician. There are times I think she has been too generous and charitable (I have vowed not to mention names but you are a clever man.). Once again, thank you.
The absolute best and moving tribute I have heard. Thank you Piers Morgan. I personally have agreed with everything you've said over the years but this tribute was utterly beautiful. Your words were perfection. You've brought me to tears. Thank you for this epic tribute. God bless our gracious Queen. God save our loyal King. And God bless you Piers Morgan.
I was born in Guyana 🇬🇾 formerly British Guyana. Now living in USA. I have to say I am so thankful for a British upbringing. Schooling, observing British Laws and I still uphold the Queen as one of the best Monarchy in my lifetime. Still admire British way of life. RIP beloved Queen.
I am a 70 Year old American but I can not imagine a world with out the Queen, she ways always there, always steady, always regal in stature and I will miss her presence on the world stage. Rest in peace you Nobel lady and may you be with Prince Phillip for ever and ever. God bless.

Such a shock the day after seeing her smile shaking hands with her new Prime Minister. Heartfelt condolences to the UK and Commonwealth.

My heart is broken for the loss of such a legendary woman. I weep unashamedly with you and extend my sincere condolences to all of the UK. With love from America.
Well said, Mr. Morgan. Many Americans are experiencing the loss as well. Queen Elizabeth has been an inspiration to people all over the world. She will be greatly missed. I doubt that there will ever be another like her.
Thank you Piers, you have said everything that I'm feeling, I'm so emotional and Her Majesty's passing is such a huge loss. I feel that I've lost a member of my family, I have never known any other monarch in my life. She gave 70 years of selfless, dedicated service to this country and the Commonwealth, God bless her. Thanks again, Piers, for a really superb speech about this wonderful woman.
I'm British from London. Never had any reason to care about the monarchy or support it as a system of institution. But The Queen has been a part of our identity and symbol of Britishness for my whole life. I am genuinely and terribly sad that she has passed.
As an American I had great admiration for the Queen. Job well done good and faithful servant. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to everyone in the UK.
It is with sadness that i have learned that Her Majesty the Queen has passed. I recognize the dedication of her life of service for the people of the UK and the Commonwealth. Farewell your Majesty from Montréal Québec Canada. Even if i am not a monarchist, i have the feeling i have lost a grandparent.
This is the best thing I've ever heard! Bravo to Piers. So articulate and respectful. We had to lose her sometime, but it's so sad now that the moment is finally here. I feel as if a family member has died. I'm Canadian, and though I am almost 69, she ruled longer than I have been alive. In school we sang God Save the Queen at assemblies, her portrait was on the wall of every classroom, and we all had the abominable task of DRAWING the Union Jack - rulers, red and blue pencils, getting all the proportions and angles exactly right or we'd have points taken off! Though her role became more ceremonial over the years, she remained a beloved figure who was hugely respected even by anti-monarchists. My husband likes to say "people die the way they live", and it is so true - her ending came with dignity and grace as the tide of her life finally went out, and throngs of people stood by and wept.
My mother has just told me she stood on the Mall on the day of Her Majesty’s coronation. She served with selfless, steadfast duty right to the very end. Simultaneously heartbroken and grateful that the heavy burden of Monarchy has been released from her shoulders. We love you, we respect you and we shall miss you dearly our beloved Queen. May you rest in eternal peace 🙏
Very well done, you said all there was to say. I am 71 I was born in October 1950 so only a month of so younger than the Princess Royal Princess Anne. And from I first time I saw her Majesty on the news back in 1953, I believe it when Her Majesty and Prince Phillip had just returned form one of their trips abroad. I have always looked up to the Queen. She was beautiful to me, elegant and special. My Heroine. Her Majesty has always been in my prayers as well as the Royal family and the British people. And my prayers today have gone out to the Royal Family asking our Heavenly Father to watch over, protect and guide the family in these trying days they must now face. Thank you, Mr. Morgan, I will save this piece on my computer to watch over and over again.
A wonderful tribute, Mr. Morgan. No matter what other disagreements I may have with you, thank you so very much for this. Her Majesty was like a grandmother to us Americans. In our darkest hour after 9/11, she broke tradition to comfort us by requesting the Coldstream Guards to play the Star Spangled Banner. We returned the favor years later after the attack in Manchester (playing God Save The Queen at a New York Yankees baseball game). It was quite painful to watch King Charles during his mother's funeral, especially toward the end during the playing of God Save The King. Pax Christi, Your Majesty, The Queen. Rest easy now. Your job and service is complete.
I also grieve the loss of your Queen. She was a wonderful person, and she devoted her life to her country, family, and all her people. There will never be a monarch like Queen Elizabeth. God Bless the Queen! My deepest condolences to the Royal Family, and all of those that devoted her life to.🙏❤️🌹
I don't think that I will ever, ever get used to thinking of a King Charles as the new British monarch. His opinions and political views have alienated quite a few people. To her royal majesty Queen Elizabeth II, congratulations and R.I.P you did an absolutely magnificent job as monarch.
Say what you will about this man but today, but when you have listened to all the news broadcasters and big time media outlets, you will not be able to say that Piers Morgan did not say it best when talking about his beloved Queen Elizabeth II. His love and deep devotion to Her Majesty has never shined through as bright as it did today. Thank you Mr. Morgan for saying what we all are feeling but aren't able to so eloquently put it into words. Thank you Queen Elizabeth for 70yrs of service to a country and people you loved so well. May you rest in eternal peace. America grieves with you Great Britain. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Absolutely a powerful explanation of what Queen Elizabeth II meant to all of the UK. I've almost been alive here in the US as long as she reigned. I've ONLY known of this Queen, of her steadfastness, her tenacity, her resolve, her graciousness, her absolute epitome of what it means to be the Queen Mother of a Nation. I am deeply saddened. She may have gone home to collect her just reward in Heaven, but she will be forever in our hearts. May she rest truly in peace. Amen.
Thank you Piers for a beautiful tribute to our wonderful and much loved and respected Queen Elizabeth. She will be deeply missed. A light has gone out in our country today. 😥🙏🇬🇧
From Louisiana in the USA: WE SEND OUR DEEPEST AND OUR SADDEST SYMPATHY TO ALL WHOSE LIFE SHE TOUCHED. SHE WAS TRULY THE MOST REMARKABLE IN HER VALUES AND MORALS. TRULY A WONDERFUL WOMAN. TEARS AND SADNESS WILL CONSUME US FOR DAYS and DAYS AHEAD. RIP
Well done, Piers Morgan, you delivered a perfect tribute to the late Queen, as perfect as it is possible to be. As you said, with her death, a little bit of all of us has died with her. I do not think we shall ever have a Monarch as great as she was again, carrying out her duties right to the very end, as she promised she would. She will be so sadly missed and Britain will never be the same without her.
Thank you Piers may our Lord God welcome this wonderful gifted Queen into heaven where her Prince Philip awaits her. I loved the Queen she was a wonderful leader. Thank you once again all the way fron South Africa 🇿🇦 🙏
I'm an American, but she's been a staple in my life for my entire life. This loss is immense for the globe. She was one of the first to show me female power.
@Black Dog How is that different from politicians in the states? At least with the Royals they do incredible charity work. Not so much with politicians.
As an American I can honestly say Piers this was the most lovely tribute and I'm sorry for your loss. My beautiful mother was born in Northern Ireland and although she was Catholic she still had reverence and respect for this queen and her service...
Although I was a British subject only by virtue of my birth in East Africa during English rule and my Scots dad - now American, I have held a place in my heart for the Queen and have dreaded this day as the turning point in the world I knew. She was irreplaceable and Britain and the world will never be the same again. God bless you, Your Majesty.
I'm not a monarchist but my God what a woman, Queen and representative of our Nation and those of The Commonwealth. Rest in peace Ma'am and thank you for your grace and service to us all.
I too am not a monarchist. I’d prefer the institution be abolished. However - I feel bereft. She is so tied up in our identity and it is bizarre (no other word) to imagine a uk without her as head of state

God bless.
Calm down. One can pay respects, but to describe the UK as all those adjectives is not only arrogant but profoundly untrue
*_Absolutely on point right, Joan. You encapsulated exactly what the Queen stood for, extremely well said ..._*

There are more Americans that are fond of her than many Brits would ever believe. In many cases much moreso than our own leadership for obvious reasons.

Thank you Piers. Beautifully said. Most Americans are grieving with all of you. I was born in 1948 so she was a big part of my entire life. 😪👵💖
Born 6.1949. 7 mo this younger than Charles.
As a German, i just rewatched her last state visit to Berlin in 2015.
And just to think about it: as a young woman she wore the uniform of her country being at war with Germany.
And at old age she visits Germany for the seventh time like an old friend. Her life is a testimony, that things can change for the better in this world.
edit: She visited Germany nine(!) times including her travels to West Berlin
