- Back by popular demand! Another hospital vlog giving you an inside look into night shift while on trauma surgery. Trauma surgery is an intense but really exciting service that is completely unpredictable especially at a level one trauma center. Although the day is always busy, the nights is when things are the most intense. I have the utmost respect for trauma surgeons because it's exhausting and sometimes terrifying but of course incredibly rewarding because you SAVE LIVES almost everyday. What an amazing job! Tune in to watch what ONE night shift looks like.

WHEN SHE WAS IN THE ELEVATOR AND SAID " some scary things happen in elevators, but not like grays anatomy" I WAS LIKE CRYING LAUGHING
I worked in a hospital where a tech got fired because of an elevator incident. No. Not like you’re thinking. They were transporting a cadaver and riding the elevator alone with the cadaver freaked them out. So they put the bed on the elevator, pressed the right floor. Hopped out, and ran down the steps to meet the cadaver on the right floor. We will just say it didn’t go as planned for them 🙊
St Joseph’s Hospital. Houston TX. Decapitated resident. Look it up. He was running to catch the elevator and jumped in thinking the doctors would automatically stop closing. They didn’t …

My Late Sweet Mom was a Candy Stripper and then a Nurse on Military Base's when my USAF Dad was in the Military for 30 years...THEN....she continued as a Nurse after they "retired"....in the end she received a 55 year Pin as a Nurse which she told me and my siblings that THIS was her Doctor Degree...we always chuckled at her and I called her lovingly Herr Doktor all the time and she SMILED every time! I totally agree - night shift gave me time to do errands! I typically would do things after work (so, 8am!) if needed, then go to bed at 10am and up again at 6pm (basically flipped 12 hours). My nights would be 8pm - 8am usually for reference.
2-4am was always the "quiet" time, 8-11pm were always crazy busy! I always said I was putting out small fires and slowing large ones.
Loved your vlog, thank you for sharing!

Thank you so, so much for all you do.😊 the love and caring you show. God bless you and the many others like you. Much prayer send your way.
I love that you're kind and patient. I'm intrigued about the different culture in the sense that in my country(in a government hospital), if a doctor looks tried, then they're trusted and respected more because people feel like they're in demand because they're good at their job and are hard working. On the contrary, if a doctor is wearing eye make up or anything, people wonder how come we got time for that. And it gets a little borderline judgemental. And because It's humid in may parts of the country and hospitals are not air conditioned, make up doesn't stay. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself and are working hard. Thank you for this video. It was so refreshing. Thank you for your compassionate heart.
Great vlog! I would love to see more blogs about your days and nights in the hospital, and maybe a video on the biggest lessons you’ve learned in residency

Wow. Thank you for your dedicated service to your traumatized patients and your fellow healthcare team. God bless you.
Beautiful inside and out
Thank you!
In Israel, our “night shift” is actually 26 hours. And if we work more than 26 hours (which we always end up doing) we don’t get paid for those extra hours. I literally feel like I have no social life whatsoever
Totally relate ! In Malaysia our night / oncall r 33 hours r with minimal extra working paid hours -
Come to India we work continuously fir for 36 hrs
@@Fit_foodiebachelor You do get time to catch some sleep in on-call rooms though right?? It might seem like a stupid question but I have a hard time imagining being able to "function" after being awake that long.

@Jess D It's quite wrong to generalise a person's competency using a 15-minute video. Are you jealous? A person can still want to look good and be a good doctor.
@Jess D imagine think JELLO is the reason why hospital bills are expensive 💀💀
@Jess D you’re extremely rude. doctors and nurses have food available for them as well. not everything in the hospital is designated solely for patients. and you are ridiculous if you think a cup of jello is why hospital bills are so expensive. i mean it’s not like there’s a zillion machines running at all times in the hospital...
not to mention, doctors and nurses still have to be presentable. she did her hair and makeup before leaving her home so idk why you felt the need to call her shallow. she’s a human being saving lives. she needs to eat when she’s hungry so she can have a little energy. grow up and start respecting people. she’s out here in the middle of a pandemic saving people.
@Jess D you sound jealous

Watching these type of blogs just makes me angry because, indeed, it is exhausting by itself, but here in México it is often we undergo 36 hour shifts and we have to attend the hospital everyday.
