It was actually a different woman, who just looked like Zenith. She did not know any of them, but she had nowhere else to go. Lara knows this but wants to accept her into the family anyway, so she doesn't out her secret.

He didn’t care in his past life due to what he turned into and in this one he realizes what he did(or didn’t do) to them was horrible.
He's not like he doesn't care about his parent's death in his past life, more like he doesn't know what to do/say because he's too socially awkward and already depth in becoming hikikomori in his past life.

She never forgot him. She just can’t speak or express herself so she appears like she’s mentally disabled. It doesn’t help that she hasn’t seen Rudeus in years so he looked completely different.

The memory/mindreading Miko revealed Zenith always knew what was happening and had her memories intact, but experienced life through a dream-like lens post teleportation. On a side-note, Zenith became a telepathy Miko and can read other's minds.

Admittedly, this "dream-like lens" interpreted idealized events in a sort of delusional way, where she thinks she's talking to people, but really she's just listening to their thoughts and believing they are having a conversation, despite not physically projecting her voice.
There was 1 character that lived in the Greyrat house that also had the ability of telepathy, which made them the only real two-way conversation partner Zenith had. But to Zenith it makes no difference to be honest since she's in delulu land enjoys the one-way mind reading conversation just as much.
She showed certain behaviors that proved she definitely recognizes Rudeus as a son/family, as well as all other people in the house as family. For example, getting mad at/scolding Rudeus, occasionally slapping him when he REALLY messes up bad.
So Zenith is completely intact for the most part, you'd just need to be a telepath to have a real conversation with her.

He's not afraid of Lara because she will support Orsted, I mean, she WILL, but the reason is not that Lara will be strong enough to face him, that was confirmed to be impossible for someone who isnt a God (thats why only Orsted is capable of that). It's because Lara Greyrat is destined to grant Orsted access to the Void World, that is the main key to defeat Hitogami, since you cannot fight him if you dont have access to his location.
@@aratakyun1937 Going to take years but when the final final fight comes it's going to be insane. Orsted, Lara, the reincarnated guy, and Rudy's kids along with others fighting Hitogami in his domain, whew.
@@Jedmonds-9173 fr 😭 and it has been stated that Hitogami probably stole the powers of the Creation God (self-explanatory, doesnt require brains to know that this is an insanely powerful god), so Orsted alone is DEFINITELY not enough to face Hitogami, I hope every descendant of Rudeus have very unique abilities to help Orsted out

I think even when his daughter with roxy said she was speaking with her they didnt believe her. I also think there was a view from her side were to her everything was viewed as normal and she thought she was talking to them.
@@GalironRunner its not that they didn’t believe her, it was more that their daughter was mostly silent growing up so they have no idea whether she can speak to zenith or not. Volume 20/21 was when blessed child told them Zenith’s perspective, in which she states that she often communicated with her granddaughter (Rudy thought she was mostly hallucinating). Volume 21/22 was when they finally understood what Zenith meant when Roxy’s parents confirmed that their daughter can telepathically communicate.
It's like she was in solitary jail for all those years. The max a person can be kept safely like that is 10 to 15 days
No matter how you look at it, Rudeus lost both his parents

@@wenomechainsama7539 well, if you've read the novels, Zenith isn't an empty shell but something else. She's not actually a vegetable. She gained something after getting trapped in the crystal but now couldn't communicate with others anymore.

@@meowcat216 don't they only find that out YEARS later when his and Roxys 2nd child uses telepathy? For all intents and purposes, he was not able to confide in zenith, she was alive, but he lost her guidance, her wisdom, her comfort, ect..

Knowing the situation of zenith hits very hard, pure sadness. I wish that didn't happen but it did. At least she is living her life happily surrounded by her grandchildren.

1st is the eyes response, Zenith can open her eyes on her own when she woke up so that's 4/4
2nd is verbal response, she can't talk but can make incomprehensible noises, so that's 2/5
3rd is motor response, knowing she pushed Rudy away, idk if she can follow actual commands but her movements are spontaneous so it would probably be enough for a 7/7
She got a total score of 13/15, which is minor brain injury, could've been worse ngl
Though I'm not saying that Rudy is over reacting or not, he has a perfectly good response to the situation, Rudy's mum just got lucky, unlike my grandma...
I read somewhere Zenith can go to the bathroom by herself, so it's not like she's super mentally disabled. I think it's more the trauma of just having his father die for him that this result compounded in his depression.
Although it would appear that scale doesn't account for Zenith being unable to really show emotion, so that would be another thing to include in her condition.
She does gardening and has mental conversations with her granddaughters. She's fine mentally, but her body doesn't reflect it. Once we cover season 4 I just know people will weep once the reveal is out. It's written to elicit euphoria.
I believe it's less her situation not being as bad, but rather just losing a parent that died protecting you, only to find that your remaining parent can't even remember you when you need them because you need consolation because of said parent that died protecting you

Don't worry it turns out that she hadn't actually lost all memory but she did lose her ability to speak and only seems able to express strong emotion. There is a part where she slaps him though rather weakly and as roxy's daughter grows they find out that unlike her mother she has the telepathy her race is known for and talks with zenith mind to mind a lot.
It's sad that happened to best girl, Zenith.

Seeing what happens to Zenith, broke me. Her going from a happy, smiling woman to someone who can't do that anymore, is just saddening.
I can't remember if it was ever stated why Zenith was trapped in the crystal to begin with, there were stories from adventurers that seen her walking the labyrinth, right? Or at least some woman walking down there, or am I misremembering? Not to mention her similarly being trapped like Elinalise who was most likely trapped in her crystal by Laplace for her to benefit and be a mana factory for Orsted, I forgot her name in the other story that was a prequel of sorts to Mushoku Tensei but it's obviously her before the Curse.. Laplace before he was split knew a good bit about Curses, right? Zenith is partially there, trapped in a dreamlike reality/state in her mind.. So, was there a purpose to her crystal trappening? Elinalise lost her memories, sure but Zenith is partially still herself, any thoughts or help where I'm wrong?

@@miguelrodriguezgonzalez6396 Pretty sure it's because it's a labyrinth mana crystal she is trapped in, usually you won't be teleeported into another physical object, as the masses overlap but mana crystals are just mana, like atmospheric mana that's everywhere, just condensed, or concentrated enough to act like a solid. So it would be like her teleporting into extremely mana dense air, not just normal air. So you could be trapped in a man's crystal but not inside the ground or a rock.

She's in a dream like state and is now a "miko". A being who can read minds. This fact is probably shown after Rudeus met someone with the same powers called "Blessed child". Though incapable of speaking, she can converse with the Migurdia race, specifically Rudeus's children from Roxy. Because Zenith can read minds while Roxy's kids is capable of communicating through telepathy.
What makes it more tragic is the fact that Zenith did not forgive Paul for cheating on her.

Rudeus being so weak every time something happens to him is annoying. He didn’t learn anything after his previous life-he did the same thing then. When you have a family of your own, you can’t just “isolate yourself” every time life throws another difficult moment at you, and it annoys me to no end that he was so mentally weak. I’m not suggesting that dudes don’t get as wrecked as the next person, but come ON.
