Great video Alex. I think something important to note is that while the demo showed a camera, a light, and positioning as being tracked, you could track 3 cameras. I have not come across another turn key system that does more than 1 camera and at 3x the cost. So in essence this is 3x less on the wallet, does 3x more, making it a 9x value. The ROI is a no brainer.
This is very cool. I'm sure as it's so new there aren't any proper tutorials as yet to answer all things like lens calibration set up? It's never, ever, as easy as it's made out to be so I wonder when we'll be getting better tutorial set ups etc. Also how easy will it be to get hold of ?????? only time will tell...
I want to buy a vivemars but I have a question about the time code if I need the cameras to have time code, and a time code generator, can you please guide me
Hello Alex, great video ! Do you think that is it possible to Connect multi pc to the htc mars ? Because I use unreal engine with multi user session with 3 pcs to send video on 3 wall led. Si i need to synch the tracker with all my pcs.
Hi Renan, I have been in the Virtual Production Industry since 2020 with profesional Tracking System at our Studio in Mexico, would love to connect and see if I can help you out.
@@weltraumimport as of last year the lens encoder that was supported / recommended was the "LOLED Virtual Indiemark". We ordered some and got them hooked up but ultimately other work got in the way before we tested this encoder workflow end-to-end

Awesome, finally this is the Genlock/Timecode solution I've been waiting for so long. I need this asap for my virtual production studio.
Such an impressive bit of tech to help push Virtual Production to the masses.

4:00 The HTC guys just gets into explaining how stable this setup is, when the tracking starts bouncing around... so how accurate is it?
@@stargazestudios I suure hope so, we will see.
is the mars compatible with Unity

also, how do you calibrate camera offset from rover ?
Hi could i work with Sony alpha cameras and code generador like as nanolockit ?
I’m not sure tbh, maybe reach out to the vice mars people? I didn’t end up buying a system.
@@AlexPearce3d What made you not moving forward with this solution? Did you went for a different one?
Very interesting. Funny how they have almost no documentation on the capabilities of pulling focus and such
What lens encoders are compatible with the Mars system? I'm coming from a Stype workflow - where do you find the 3rd party encoding hardware?
same question - what lens encoding is best there
