Thank you for making this video. I just got mine today. Grape colored. She’s gorgeous. I’ll be watching this video all week. Cause I am a below average test score guy and I need the repetition to comprehend at high percentage.
Very useful video thank you! :-) You may know now, but here is the "Insert" method : In "Track Mode | Write" press "Function" and "Insert" together to insert a pattern at the previously selected point... press "Play" and then select the pattern to insert and press "Next"... Stop playback. Go to "Track Mode | Play" press "Clear" to go to the start and then "Play" to hear the track with the inserted pattern. The above method is from the Roland Tr-606 manual but works also on the TD-3.
I don’t have an RD-6 yet. But I have the TD-3. I’ve noticed the programming is very similar to the TD-3s, Behringer’s user manual is too brief to make any significant advancements. To the point I searched for the original Roland TB-303 manual and it has way more detail. May be the original TR-606 manual will reveal the details lacking from this clone too. Although you have done an excellent deep review here. Thanks
Just got an RD-6 and it was boggling me for running in double time. This vdeo is great and finally made helped me understand what is going on. Thank you, great demo and explanation, better than the Roland and behringer manuals combined ;)

I returned mine after two days, the track write didn't work, [It did work the first day] when entering the first pattern to write - subsequent patterns written after that the RD- would not advance to them. This was on track 6. I did test some of the other tracks which did seem to work, but so did track 6 initially, also when entering multiples of the same pattern I found it to be a bit of a lottery as to whether your patterns would land right! A great sounding machine and ideal for switching patterns on the fly but not something you can confidently write to, at least that was my experience.
@@rezzonator no worries :) amazingly imformative btw have been waiting for mine for nearly 2 months now On the original 606 the hihat decay could be controlled by the tempo knob when being synced externally (from what ive read) i was wondering if this was the case with the rd6 ?

Thank you soo much for this in-depth video. It really helps to get a feeling of what this machine is capable of. I'd like to ask (in case you know): So as I understand it sends out MIDI notes for every programmed event, is that correct? So basically it would be possible to program a pattern, mute the device, and let it trigger samples on an external MIDI device, like a sampler/MPC/DAW, right? I'm wondering because this way one would have a fully-fledged 8 track step sequencer to control any external gear. Which would make it double interesting for me, as to my knowledge you don't get a step sequencer at this price point (apart from the volca's, which are way too small and fiddly for my hands and they don't have a MIDI OUT anyways...).
