I don't know what stuff you like, but my favourite artist is Aurora. She has as beautiful voice as Katrine from Kalandra, but is a little different beast. She is a unique person and artist, but very approachable. She is more pop, but very rooted in nature and humanity and very deep.
Kalandra is great at setting a mood and telling a story. Her voice and the band's sound always pull me in for all their songs. I think my favorites are Borders and Ensom, but I honestly find it hard to pick favorites with them. A little before I found Kalandra, I found Aurora and Crywolf. These three bands have been some of my favorites to listen to for over a year now. Aurora shares some similarities to Kalandra, and Crywolf is melodic but much more in the electronic genre. Some right off the top of my head are Ultraviolent Pt. 1, DRIP, and Anachronism. Crywolf's collab on the OMNIVIOLENCE EP album was awesome; it's a pretty dark and heavy album. My all-time favorite will always be anything by Maynard James Keenan, but I'm glad I have found bands like these to supplement listening to him.
For some of the harder stuff, check out Lullaby, Slow Motion, and Helvegen. Many of their songs start out kind of quiet and build upon itself to a climax. Katrines (the lead singers) vocal near the end of Lullaby blows me away. There are plenty of other good songs, and they do some more etheral stuff that is mesmorizing as well (Borders, State of the World).
Love your honest reaction, i could see this hit you. You should check out their other songs like Bardagin. State of the world. Slow motion-live from gildehallen. Brave new world- live from kulturkirken and The waiting game.
very nice music video from a very good band. it takes a lot of effort to make stop motion videos like this one. personally i prefer kalandra over aurora because their music is more what i like. best stop motion video in my opinion is steven wilson, routine. i reccomend to check out eivor, a faroese singer and songwriter and a classically trained sopran with a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. she also made music for the tv series the last kingdom and the computer game god of war. she recently signed with seasons of mist and startet a world tour. eivors performance of falling free live at the old theater in tórshavn is the best live performance of any artist i know. also her other songs are absolut phenomenal, last kingdom main theme live at hammersmith apollo, Eivør - Lívstræðrir feat. John Lunn (Live at Heaven in London 2022), í tokuni music video, gloomy sunday, her kate bush covers, the list is endless.

...and if you don't like poppy Aurora, you can always check out her colab with Wardruna on the magnificent song Helvegen.....
😊
Cool video, I can't wait to see this band live in a few weeks
