contact cement is good for large surfaces, but for those tiny frames, you can just use woodglue to glue on the veneer (if it's genuine wood), less stink and better long term strength
Good to know, thank you! We hate working with contact cement and always get headaches immediately even with masks on 😷

the veneers guys! they will all peal off at some point, some quicker than others try out baltic birch ply and stain it / leave open the edges
I really doubt that it will peel off. It’s been holding up great and it’s been months already. We use Baltic birch for everything but personally don’t like the look of plywood in a camper van.

You guys have the most stylish van interiors!
I used to do woodworking, carpentry and all that fun stuff but there is a lot of exposure to hazardous dust/fumes etc. I’d suggest minimizing your exposure by setting up a dust collection system, using large fans for venting/airflow, doing stuff outside whenever possible, and wearing masks whenever working with machines/chemicals/sprays. Also look for less toxic stuff alternatives like glue instead of contact cement.

Thanks for looking out for us! We wish we had invested in dust control sooner but we rent this shop and knew it was going to be short-term, so we didn’t want to put the money into it. When we build a shop of our own, we’ll be sure to prioritize it 🙏🏼

Amazing work! What kind of veneer did you get and where can you buy them?
We actually got it from a very small local lumber yard that doesn’t do any shipping. Smaller lumber yards are generally the best way to source materials like that as well as higher quality ply wood like baltic birch and pretty hardwood pieces for accents like our shelf.
Learn how to use a scribe it would be so much cleaner
We did use a scribe. The measurement was to know how much to take off the top so we could get it closer to the wall for a more accurate scribe/cut.

How do you deal with the cat hair in such a small place? I have two cats also
Neither of them she’d much but we brush them a lot as well and that seems to help!
@@scarletandseth I try to brush mine. I swear it doesn't work. I'm in a small apartment and the hair alone is a full-time job. Looking to move into a cargo trailer. Loving the videos
