It never saved my life but the Auris experienced an attempt on its own life by a maniac in an Audi and it held up remarkably well and lived to tell the tale in a sub 15mph collision. It was not written off and ended up being repaired and with some non crash related paint chips repaired it did not like the 3 months of being sat and made rattles upon first being driven and those rattles took 500 miles to clear and they were through lack of use. Since then the car has been treated better than ever before as I missed it big time when I had a Fiat 500 that although fun was unrefined for 1 month and a Vauxhall Corsa that broke down and the replacment Corsa also being of poor quaility. Since then I've appreciated my Toyota Auris 1.2T a lot more as its far more powerful and smooth but I've also started polishing, waxing and ceramic coating the paintwork and headlights every year and everyone always comments on how prestine the car looks I plan on keeping the 2016 car until its old enough to be of old banger status at which point it will be given to my Mum or younger Sister and I will buy a Lexus.
It has now sadly been hit by an artic driven by a spastic who rolled over 1m backwards and hit my car the paint was strong none of it left the bumper the clear clearcoat in the centre has a serious chip in it though and the bumper is slightly out of line and it was also rear ended by the same spastic who I forced to stop who hit my rear bumper out of spite. Despite that the bumper lost no paint or clearcoat and the only effect was a £4 bumper clip breaking. Toyota again when mine is finally worn and out I want the luxury car hell yeah I'm getting a Lexus. Toyota has proven to be tough in every imageinable way be it low speed crash resistance and the toughness of the drivetrain and elctricals.
I bought Toyota Corolla iM hatchback which is based on Auris which is that one, it make me happy knowing I drive a VERY safe car considering it got 5 stars. Then again, I'm not sure when NHTSA will fully test Corolla iM yet...maybe same result?
I have this car and it is so safe my old car was the same too now its technology or appereance of it looks so old from the outside for people who has new cars. But if they look from the inside, they discover a technology who is super duper awesome. This car is sent from heaven.
they are actually the same chassis and same hybrid engine. they just olnt have different exterior and interior panels and made i totally different factories

Actually, as much as I see the Lexus in there, you know what I see even more? The Hyundai i30 hatch. In fact I see the i30 in the Lexus too. I also see it in the new A-Class as well. All those flowing lines that used to be exclusive to all manner of high end German cars are being snatched up by cheaper (not necessarily worse) Japanese, Korean and even Chinese designers. That's why I like the Audi A1 so much :) Audi's have always been luxo-boxes.
I have read in the report of Euroncap that the front airbags are single stage. That means that Toyota is cheating and they design the car just for passing the test. Almost all new cars have two stage airbags, the single stage airbags only provides protection at the speed of this test (64 km/h or 35 mph), at higher speeds they it is needed a two stage airbag for providing an acceptable protection. The car is just designed for the test not for be safe.
i researched for ten minutes and i found toyota auris, ford focus, bmw 1 series, citroen c4, peugeot 308 have single stage front airbags (for the same generations , lets say 2010- 2015). i mean in euro ncap reports there is an information that these models have single stage airbags. volvo v40, Vw golf ,a3 and a series there is no information about airbags, and civic, giulietta has the information for dual stage front airbags. i think its not cheating almost every brand does it.

Auris safety system saved my life. I had the same accident and i got nothing but a scratch on my hand. I am managing to buy a new toyota auris.

i have a new auris!
Japanese Volvo? ^^
Toyota The best
Could be because they're made by the same company, on the same platform?
Every time I see the side part of newest Auris in first few sec. I think that's Lexus CT200h. They're sooo similar!

Of course they are, but I mean that this is a big advantage that popular Toyota looks as great as luxury hatch.
The new Auris looks 100 times better than the old one
JN DNT Even the last Corolla hatch (E120 from 1999-2007) was far better looking than the sorry excuse for the 1st gen Auris.
why right hand drive?
The test center was surely in the UK, because the Auris was built in the UK. Perhaps you found out yourself in the past 7 years 😁

Lexus is the luxury version of Toyota, they own Lexus.
does anyone know where is the fuel kill switch is on a 2013 to 2015 toyota auris?
Good car
I thought these were only 2/5 stars for, safety?
Don't think it's retarded then
Fantastic car. air bag in the back could be improved babys head breached the other side i could be rong but it looked like that
The new Toyota Corolla in crash tests appears more fragile and vulnerable than this Auris...
Very N1ce!!!!!! its a car!
My dad own this car
