    Just a fellow collector question; having bought Indiana Jones figures for pennies on eBay, and seeing how you scored in China, my question is if you have ever seen modern G.I. Joe figures anywhere (online or in a store) in the last two years for reasonable prices? Seems like G.I. Joe has skyrocketed in price since 2007, and is not coming back down any time soon.

    • @gijoburg
      @gijoburg  5 лет назад

      Depends on what you’re looking for really. Rise Of Cobra figures are STILL around and dirt cheap. More desirable figures don’t really appear often. I saw a guy on a Singapore based online trading site selling FSS figures at what I can only assume is cost price! So yeah, I do believe there is less price gouging in the East. Joe isn’t as highly prized out here.

    • @DisobedientSpaceWhale

      Depends how you define knock off. Some figures are made using the same moulds from the same factories as the 'real' versions but are unauthorised.

    • @timsgta
      @timsgta 5 лет назад

      @@DisobedientSpaceWhale how is it unauthorized, they sneak in at night and make toys, then clear out before day shift arrives? Lmao

    • @DisobedientSpaceWhale
      @DisobedientSpaceWhale 5 лет назад

      @@timsgta they just make more than the company in the West orders and keep them for sale elsewhere. Simple. The Chinese manufacturers make them on behalf of the toy companies- they are contractors. Doesn't cost much more to churn out a few thousand extra once the moulds and production process has already been set up. I own knockoffs identical to the authorised version. The paint jobs are not always quite as good admittedly. How do you think they make such accurate copies?
