    I think I actually like that long, lean look better than the really massive bulky ones! She had a nice calm temperament too, and gorgeous bright yellow color!

    I fed my female mainland tiger once every two weeks... Sometimes even less... And she has grown to 12ft in about 2 years.

      Well I guess it does have to be great genetics because the meals she was taking were by no means big. She's a tiger produced by Bob Clark. I know the stuff he produces generally have a reputation for getting pretty large.

      DEVprince99 It's because there was one found in 1920 that was reported to have measured at 32ft 10 inches. It actually seems relatively verified but it was a long time ago so who knows. In my opinion I do believe it was real, but I also believe it was just a freak of nature. I don't think retics that large exist anymore. Not with the skin trade and hunting that's been going on lately anyways. The wild population needs to be massive and untouched for the genetic freaks over 30ft to appear again. I'm fairly certain it has something to do with growth hormone disorders similar to what happens in humans. Take Andre the giant for example. You could go years and never see another person that massive. It's not that people like Andre don't exist, its just that only one person in about a billion get that large. The same goes for retics. The only difference is that we now have dwarf and superdwarf retics being bred to mainland retics. I suspect that retics will gradually get smaller because of this. Especially if wild animals aren't continually exported from the mainland for new blood. I'm legitimately a little worried about Burmese and reticulated pythons getting smaller and having diluted genetics. for whatever reason people have a huge problem with hybrids but they don't care at all about mixing dwaef and super dwarf pythons with their larger counterparts. In my opinion that's even more harmful than crossbreeding because there's often no way to tell how much dwarf and SD DNA is in an animal. The result is that some shops have no idea how large their animals will get and you just have to take a wild guess.

    So mainland retic is a ‘kind’ of retic that is smaller, and is called dwarf?? I was curious about dwarfs, that is truly what I would love to have. Hmmm

    Jay, what's the largest potential size for a male retic. I really want a male purple albino tiger. I know I don't want a female. Just want an amazing spectacular pet. I want to build a cage for him, obviously before acquiring one. But I'm thinking of a cage size...
    12' W x 3'D x 4'T. I'm assuming with age his potential size wouldn't get more than 17'. Thoughts.

    I've often wondered if the best way to give a snake that needs it extra vitamins would be to inject a food animal with a liquid vitamin solution. It seems the most logical way to do it to me.

    • @alexcrowder1673
      @alexcrowder1673 8 лет назад +1

      Alexis Grunden Be careful though. Snakes bodies work much differently than mammals like us. Even one tablet of Advil is enough to kill an adult python, even a large burm or retic. I'd be very careful which vitamins you use because who knows how it will react in a reptiles stomach. It'd be hard to find vitamins meant specifically for what you are describing. I'd personally feel uncomfortable experimenting like that.

      Alex Crowder Good point, though there are reptile-formulated vitamins; I used to sprinkle the powder form of one variety on my iguana's food periodically. I was working off a similar thought process here; not too huge a leap, I think.

    it's disgusting to say to a man - a super-dwarf has come. You shouldn't videotape such shameful behavior.
