If You're Wondering WHY YOUR GOLF GAME STINKS Watch This Video

- YOUR GOLF GAME IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE. IF YOUR GOLF SWING STILL STINKS AND YOU ARE MISERABLE, WHY DO YOU KEEP GOING BACK TO THE SAME MISTAKES AND MECHANICS THAT DON'T WORK?
The title says it all. You golfers have been fooled your whole golfing lives by the golf media (golf magazines, golf instruction "gurus" and false golf instruction ideologies) - OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE TRUTH, PEOPLE!
I'VE HAD IT - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH -
The average golfer is learning the same old things that DON'T WORK. There's a reason why 97.3% of the 1,200 students I've taught have come to me with the same problems - you probably know them all too well -
1. "Shifting Weight" and "Swaying" in the swing
2. Turning the "shoulders level to the ground"
3. "Releasing" the hands
4. Dropping the club "into the slot" in the backswing
5. "LIFTING THE ARMS" in the backswing
6. KEEP YOUR "RIGHT KNEE FLEXED" for power.
It's the same old stuff folks, you read it and try it out, and it doesn't work. No wonder you're still stuck at square one and not seeing the improvement you would like to see in your golf game.
I know the struggle BECAUSE I WAS JUST LIKE YOU until I found Stack and Tilt :O - oh heavens, I said the "S" word.
Well, I was a NEVER-TILTER for most of my golfing life because people said IT'S BAD, EVIL, DON'T DO THAT, YOU WOULD BE AN IDIOT OF YOU DID THAT SWING.......c'mon, I believed the lies and suffered for it.
I came to Stack and Tilt when my golf game was at its absolute rock bottom. I was just about to call it quits - my PGA Membership and career in the golf business ---- over. THEN, a golf pro friend of mine approached me with some simple swing keys in a lesson. He said:
"take the club MORE IN"
"Straighten your right leg"
"Keep the weight forward"
I knew it was Stack and Tilt stuff BUT I HAD NOTHING TO LOSE - I was just about to quit the game I loved........FOREVER
What happened in the next few strikes of the ball changed my mindset on the golf swing forever. The contact was a pure-ness I had never felt before. I thought I compressed the ball when I hit it well in the past. NO, THIS.....THIS was real compression. It felt like butter on the clubface - unbelievable.
In two weeks of working on these simple keys (which by the way, these keys were contradictory to everything I had ever learned by the golf experts and the golf media). IN TWO WEEKS, I went from shooting high 80's and low 90's from the WHITE TEES at a tough local course to shooting a 74 from the CHAMPIONSHIP TEES at the same tough local course. It didn't take long for me to make the switch to something that FINALLY works.
The information just plain works - when you work with information that is rooted in the laws of physics and geometry.......it just works!! There is a cause and effect for everything. NO MORE GUESSING.
I got into teaching with the simple mission of helping golfers make the most out of the game they love.
One day, while on the lesson tee, IT HIT ME when I realized that almost all of my lessons were starting to blend together - I was telling everyone to "turn the lead shoulder down", "take the club more inside", "place the weight forward". THAT'S WHEN I SNAPPED - everybody is struggling with the same problems.
This is ridiculous - there is a reason the average golf score is in the 100s. ----------BAD INFORMATION -----FAILING GOLF SWING METHODS-----HIGH SCORES-------MISERABLE STUDENTS-----------FRUSTRATION AND QUITTING OF THE GAME = OVERALL LACK OF PARTICIPATION IN GOLF.
You're tired and fed up too. It's obvious - who really wants to spend their whole golfing life duffing it around???? It is miserable.
If you're DONE with the old - that's not working - time to make a change. Stop fighting yourself and work with information that is effective and body-friendly.
It's amazing when students start working on simple swing keys - like the ones in this video - that they start dropping shots like liposuction in their golf games. It's UNREAL and I am so happy for them.
This game can be a lot simpler. That's why I want you to make the switch today. There are greener pastures ahead. Stop wandering around in the "Golf Swing Desert" for 40 years and come to the "Land of Milk and Honey".
It all starts by working on the right things.
Want to get started - you can learn all of this in a simple $10/month online golf school. Try it out and see how 90s and 100s shooters are breaking 80 and playing the best golf of their lives in a matter of a few practice sessions. - saguto.golf
This isn't a gimmick - the information just works. Why are you going to allow yourself to continue to suffer in this game when you know there's another more effective way to play?
Through this program I hope to bring the average score in the golfing world from the 100s to the 80s and LOWER. It can be done. Start working on the right things and transform your game for the better INSTANTLY.

In the past three days I’ve watched a bunch of your videos. Today I finally got a chance to try it out. At first I sucked and remembered one of your videos saying don’t beat yourself up during practice (wasn’t easy). I was chunking dunking slicing this that and the other thing.
After taking a few deep breathes and replaying the videos in my head the shoulder video popped up.
BINGO THIS IS THE SECRET.... ON MY BACK SWING I MADE SURE MY SHOULDER WAS OVER THE BALL AND MY CHIN DIGGING INTO MY SHOULDER. Then magic happened. I was hitting the ball so well it was incredible. At first I was going through all my check points with terrible results. Once I did this shoulder thing that’s all I was thinking about. I can’t wait to get back to the range this week and continue my new swing. Thanks so much Tom 👍🏻
You are a great teacher. I have played golf all over the world . I am 75 and I have followed and read many golf tips and lessons . You are the simplest and the best. Love to play with you.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Greg, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating well with you!!
Thanks so much for your support and have fun out there!!

I have been a one plane swing golfer for 40 years and at 62 I’m still a single handicap, I learn to play this way on my own and it works. I hit my driver straight down the middle and my irons as well, it works!
Tom’s videos will help anyone. I watch and learn every time I watch. Thanks, Tom!
I'm glad you're enjoying and benefiting from the lessons, Rickey!
I used to watch 6 different golf guys on RUclips. I chunked them ALL, and kept Tom! His simple swing is consistent, powerful ( long) and easy on the body. I’m playing the best golf of my life thanks to Tom! I used to HATE my driver- now? I can’t wait to pull it out of the bag!! Thank you Tom!!
That driver is now all about mashed potatoes with extra gravy and a whole bunch o' Wrath!!
Well done, Mark!! I'm glad to know that we're monogamous now and that you're not playing the field anymore!!! 😆😂

@@SagutoGolf HA! I told my wife that I'm committed to her, and to Tom Saguto. For different reasons, but both equally important! If I'm going to be playing golf the rest of my life, I need the right person along with me on my journey! Speaking of which, another video popped up on my RUclips- some British GolfTec guy teaching the stack and tilt. Man, he was dryer than a popcorn fart. Most boring thing I've ever seen. No pizzas, no KFC, no wrath of God. That was 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back! You make it simple and fun(ny)!! Now go out there and SMITE it!
I shot 78 three times already this year. Couple weeks ago 75 my best ever score. You're my go to and changed golf for me.
That is AWESOME, Shawn!! 💪💪 I'm thrilled for your improvement!!

Hi Tom, I am learning a lot from your lessons in your golf program. Yesterday, I came out of the bunker using your Method 1. I was totally amazed that your technique worked. I did not even practice bunker shots on the range. I am so glad I became a member of Saguto Golf. Your instructions are very easy to follow. You are the best golf teacher. Funny thing is I haven’t even taken a lesson from you in person and still my ball striking has improved in just playing 9 holes twice. Thank you so much Tom!
Hi Rajan,
I'm very glad to know that you are already reaping benefits from the school in such a short amount of time!! And nice job with the bunker technique, by the way!
The curriculum gives you all the instruction you need to become a ball striking machine, and if you learn it incrementally and gradually you won't even need a lesson (though you are still perfectly free to schedule one anyway...😎). However, as I believe I may have mentioned to you previously, do be sure to arrange for a V1 Swing Video Analysis at least every 3-4 months to ensure that everything is on track.
Thanks for sharing your success, keep up the great work, and have fun out there!!
Tom

@@SagutoGolf I can’t play a lot as I have asthma and COPD but I truly appreciate what I am able to do given my health constraints. I watched Top 5 golf instructors regularly on Golf Channel but they do not give cause and effect of each motion the way you do. I appreciate what you are doing for golfers around the world.
Changed to single plain swing after stumbling across Tom Saguto golf channel 3 weeks ago. Was always taught arms up high in back swing shallow club transfer weight and rotate through shot. Mixed results but generally inconsistent, also sick to death of hearing "shallow the club" . Single plain club is already shallow and impact is solid sharp and crisp. Thank you Tom for the no nonsense tips, looking forward to the next video.
Tom I hate with a passion the feel and sound of missing the sweet spot. I just recently started watching some of your videos and my percentage of center strikes has gone way up. Even thinking about bringing out my 1979 Wilson Staff blades again. I love those clubs in the SW thru about 7 iron. I didn't realize my hips had become so dead in the swing. I hope your viewers realize that if the hips are used properly a 90 degree shoulder turn is no big deal even for older golfers (I am 70). Thanks for reminding me how to swing.
Yep - 45 degrees of hip turn plus 45 degrees of shoulder turn = an effortless, full 90 degrees! I'm glad to know that my instruction is resonating well with you!
Keep up the great work, and enjoy rekindling that nostalgic relationship with your classic blades!!
Tom
Tom, I went to the range last week and it was AWFUL. I watched a bunch of your videos and realized what I was doing wrong. Today I went to the range and it was magic. I was puring so many of my shots and I was having so much fun. THANK YOU. Sharing your channel with all my friends.
I appreciate your kind words and am glad to learn that the lessons are helping you! Thanks so much for sharing my channel!!
Thanks for the video, I have discovered in the last few days that if I keep very balanced in my downswing towards the ball and go very steady I'm making much better contact with the ball, I'm 50 now and hitting the ball better than ever, also I find my mind is getting more calm through the swing 😊 so what I've discovered is you can actually do anything with your back swing you can steep it up to a chopping position , it doesn't really matter . coming down relaxed and a good contact is everything
You are right on. started playing many years ago and have not played any better. Have been watching your great videos and swinging in the yard. At my age I have to take it easy but getting ready to try out your well explained lessons. Thanks. Phil L
Tom, thank you for all you are doing to help us become better ball strikers. PGA instructor of the century.
tom, this stuff is gold. ive made the change because of you, its simply better, better striking, better for your physicality and just better for your time on the course and range!!!!
I'm putting your lessons into practice but I cannot play golf at the moment because of the virus but I absolutely love what you are teaching so simple no crab just simple instructions. I have a bad over the top swing now it has reduced by more than three quarters 'll keep practicing thanks a million bro
Everyone needs to listen
It works ! Hitting the ball better and farther than ever . He said it “ the old way doesn’t work “ This way does Go Tom !
Within 4 months I went from inconsistent 80's shooter to three rounds in mid 70's at my City Amateur championship. Have broke par three times. And shot 4 under on my home course back nine. It works
Wow, Fred - that's some phenomenal playing, and especially under tournament pressure! Plus adding a 4-under for 9 holes??... 💪💪
Thanks so much for sharing your improvement, and keep up the fabulous work!!!
Tom
looking forward to getting out... except they closed golf courses in my area now!! was not expecting that to happen honestly as precautions can easily be attained at golf courses (small flags, no carts etc).
Good stuff Tom! Proud to be working with you. Looking forward to more lessons. 🏌🏻♂️⛳️
Tried out the concepts Sunday afternoon. More distance, solid shots and effortless speed. Trying to forget my old swing..."sway, chop and curse".
Played my first round with this method on easter. Not extravagant but when I did what I was supposed to it worked. Golfed my lowest round on 9 49 with only trying it at the range once but was making it to the green easy my putting and chipping needs work lol. Last year I golfed over 60 for 9 for reference
GREAT STUFF!!!! I watch a few of your videos a week and man GOLF IS MORE FUN now!!!! Thanks
I love your enthusiasm! Ny state is currently shutting down all golf courses until the covid 19 calms down. But I keep practicing in the back yard as much as I can. Please keep making amazing videos.. I would appreciate a more in depth look into just the down swing sequences maybe a slow mo of your full swing.. that would be great! Thank you!
I must admit the swing works and 2 weeks ago I was hitting the ball pure. However, The difficulty comes in overcoming old habits and feels. You get in the between your old and new swing and try everything you can to get back to the new. It seems as though I can stay left with my irons but the Driver and fairway woods I struggle staying on my left side. It simple idea but going to need a lot of practice for this old dude.
Well I have to thank you since watching your videos I’ve gain yardage on my driver , also I’ve struggled with my irons for years only hitting my 7 iron barely 100 yards since watching I’m now hitting my 8 iron about 120 yards thank you and I’m hoping with your continued help I’ll get better. I’m about an 20 handicap right now , would love to take a live lesson from you
Hey Tom this weekend we have a round to play. I'm currently around a 9 handicap
We will send you the video of us hitting 300+ down the center and our scores after, after only twice at the range with your technique!!
Yes! Please do - sagutogolf@gmail.com
Hi Tom,
I stopped golfing last year because of the shanks!! I stumbled upon your instruction and decided to give it a try. I’m beginning to enjoy ball striking again. However , the ball flight is starting left of target line with a little draw at the end. A beautiful looking ball flight , just not on line . I use landscaping rods during practice , so fairly sure I’m square to target line. Any ideas??
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work . You have saved me😊
I've been dominating my practice balls in the backyard with your 3 tips.. esp the "skipping a stone" swing thought. Despite my best efforts, Ive been a club flipper forever and this has started me down the path to losing that nasty habit. Cant wait for the rain to stop so I can hit some real balls. Thanks!
Can't wait to try it. Hopefully soon. Love the way u teach! No bs, just the facts.
Saguto is awesome for making enthusiastic videos that draw our attention to the technique and are easy to follow. Believe me, after only a few weeks of working on the positions and feels, I am never turning back. S&T is the easiest, most efficient lost method for solid, accurate and consistent ball striking. Look at videos of Hogan, the best ball striker of all time. Tom, keep up the incredible work.
I have been practicing your swing in the back yard. Can't wait for the courses to open. Been taking video and using the V1 video software, my swing is looking better but I wish I could see if this is working. In the past I could hit a slice like you wouldn't believe. I know I had to be coming over the top. My swing looks better on video but I have no idea if the actual result is better or worse.... maybe I need to put my practice sessions on YOutube and the actual results on the course when I can get there. Frustrating.. ready to find one of the more hidden holes on my local course and just give the swing a try for like 5 balls... Thanks for inspiring me to get away from my 33 handicap after playing for 34 years...I was lost and desperate in the golf desert. I think I can see the Oasis ahead... is that Saguto I see up there? Maybe I won't hate this game as much after all? :0)
This stuff works great for short irons. Long irons and driver it is terrible . I hit snap hook after snap hook and more snap hooks . I even loosen my grip and still snap hook . Can’t take this anymore . Stack and tile ruined me
After almost 2 weeks of trying this technique I shot an 87, 80 and 78. I believe!!!
craig burts my scores are still similar but they will improve. What’s awesome is hitting solid golf shots again! It’s the funnest I’ve had hitting iron shots. My buddy was very impressed with my iron play on Easter.
Fantastic. Fantastic, great job. Saguto is awesome for making enthusiastic videos that draw our attention to the technique and are easy to follow. You are awesome for going out and proving its worth. Looking forward to hearing about your 75.
Same here, since i started this last week i went 78, a 1 under on 9 holes, and just shot 75 with a double on 18 because I hit a wedge....too far!
Chris D last week shot a 81 with 9 GIRs! Usually a high 80s. Scores are lowering for sure!
@@dgmickley That's awesome man. Stress free pars...if the birdies fall they fall.
Omg. First practice day in 10 yrs. Driver carry 265. Too easy. Sign me up now.Dude you are telling the truth. Oh fyi im turning 59 yrs young this fall. I missed the game i love. Great day.
Thank you so very much. I got sucked in the whole weight shift thing. Since I started doing stack and tilt one week ago my handicap dropped with 8 points from 38 to 30.
One aspect of all this confusion in the golf swing is that it keeps people on a never ending quest for the "right equipment".
They are forever buying the latest greatest driver or iron set hoping this will be the missing piece of the puzzle.
I think this is somewhat by design.
Tom,
So many positive comments about the clarity of your instruction.
A suggestion, if I may. I asked you in a previous post, I believe it was the heavy hoola hoop plane video, what your two pivot club distances were vs your current S and T carry distances, which you kindly summarized.
I expect I am not alone in this search for statistical evidence. I wonder if you could do a video where you compare pre Saguto handicaps to post Saguto S and T handicaps?
Relating your distance and strike improvement offers anecdotal evidence of S and T superiority over two pivot. A before and after handicap comparison would be the scientific acid test.
When the Wuhan virus dissipates, and we golfer's get back out playing the game, providing Saguto Golf with before and after handicap differential would mathimatically buttress the effectiveness of the technique. GIR and Fairways hit per round would be another way of measuring, but requires more data to review.
Once again I say it. This young man gives out more sensible information in one lesson than all the so called professional teachers do in their lifetime.
Definitely work's I stumbled upon Tom 10 days ago had a few sessions at the range and on Sunday in the monthly medal I broke 80 for the first time ever on a par 73 course 7400 yards shot 79 I've just had a text my handicap my handicap cut from 14.6 to 11.2 won my division and best net score overall wow only missed one fairway and only in light rough not trouble the one problem I had was I flew through 5 greens with iron's hitting it so much longer and way straighter as Tom says its easy to get used to now my goal is to be a single digit handicaper before Christmas oh by the way I'm in my mid 60s if I can do it anyone can
That' is *AWESOME* , Richy!!
(By the way, I do have an entire short game section in my online school in the event you need help on those recovery shots after you fly the green...😆)
Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work - sounds like single digits before Christmas is well within your reach!
Cheers!
Tom
@@SagutoGolf luckily that's always been my strong part of the game but I'm always looking to improve and will check out your short game videos thanks enjoy your day and stay
Tom could you do a tip on ball position with the irons and the fairway woods as well? Thanks.
Hey Tom I live close to Montreal Quebec. Our season hasn't started and we are also still in lockdown for non essential services. However as soon as I can I will head to the driving range to practice your swing method. I think I am doing most of it already. I try to stay with my weight on the left and I try not to shift it off the ball. I also changed my grip pressure last year and it made a world of difference. Can you talk about grip pressure? I am wondering what your opinion on grip pressure is?
Do you have a golf course management course ? Seems to me I am at a point where I am shooting well but now need smart golf to score
You’re amazing..wonderful info/tips. Great haircut too!
You are great love the humor! Great job Tom!
I'm having problems with the downswing. Do I start with tilting back first or swinging, or is it simultaneous?
You have a driver swing video for faster swing doesn’t even need a ball. Well after that drill I hit my longest drive when it was 48 degrees on the course 268!!! When over the summer I couldn’t break 250
Hi Tom, any tips for golfers who cannot turn their shoulders 90 degrees? Older and hips won’t rotate as far as they used to.
Hi Philip,
A significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which maximizes hip turn and thereby provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
Have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of the online school? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. Here's a link if you would like to know more about the school - saguto.golf - and here's a link to my free mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” if you’re interested in checking it out: go.saguto.golf/
You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
Tom
Would single length clubs be Moore beneficial as a novice player ,thanks Tom.
I bought a set of cobras... loved them when I first started.. some draw backs though... you have to get used to your wedges being the same length as your 7 Iron... not a biggie.. but you most definitely lose distance with your longer clubs..
Again I loved them but I out grew them way faster than I thought I would... still hit cobra woods, hybrid, driver..
The baffler system on the bottom of the hybrids and woods are a great add on for novices...
If I could do it over...I would've got some GIC's probably a better choice... like AP3 or ther Mizunos I have now... probably could hit the one lengths better now....
Good luck...
Love you man!
Tips for seniors???
Tom, I can hit great punch shots all day, often drawing the ball with the preferred S&T push draw. But when I go to full swing, it's back to thin shots and pull fads and slices. How do I fix this?
This is great. Been playing for years and never really tried Stack & Tilt because it's too confusing.
S&T purists promote five basic elements, and then there is a bunch of "fine tuning" which confuses it and gives it a bad reputation. No wonder people are confused. Keep it simple, stupid!
But after watching your videos, you have seemed to simplify it, narrowing it down to THREE elements; and (other than "maintaining the relationship to the ball"), basically TWO.
1. Start with more WEIGHT LEFT, keep it there and shift most all of it there by impact, and
2. Turn your LEFT SHOULDER DOWN, maintain your spine angle, then right shoulder down at impact
Less is more!
The rest of the things mostly happen on their own if you do the first two.
I had a teaching pro tell me "keep your head behind the ball". Now I think it was the worst advice I ever got. I said, "I can't do it!" How am I supposed to keep my head behind the ball yet shift my weight to the left foot by impact? Too many moving parts, difficult to keep in sync, timing all the moves almost impossible in the second or two that a golf swing takes. 🙄 Keeping centered over the ball seems so much easier.
Thanks, I'm sticking with it.
Well said Mike!
Dude the key is really to keep your right elbow glued to the ribs on the backswing just like Hogan did. That's what you should be stressing to make it simple for everyone. Cheers R
So do you recommend feeling the left arm across your chest at the top of the turn or hands in front of the chest at the top?
Love you Tom!! Changed my game
It's like a football coach teaching golf !!! Love it Tom !!! Grab my mask !!
I am ingraining your method for swing and setup into my game.
Do you use the same setup and swing from a bunker?
Great advice. It’s really a simple game right? ✌️
Is there a Stack and Tilt for guitar playing?
Love the n=30 for 95 confidence level.
It works !!!!! Its that freakn simple!!!!!!
Sounds simple but stack and tilt promoted shanks for me.
I haven’t been able to get any better at golf for a few years now. So I thought I’d try this, stack and tilt, even bought the book. I must be doing something very, very wrong. Spent a few hours on this. Can’t hit at all. If I do the ball flight is very low. I had to stop due to back pain. Never got back pain from golf before. I’m certainly not blaming Tom or criticizing the technique, but trying to learn this (golf) from video and a book has been, well, unsuccessful. I’m using video feedback as well. Anyone else struggling? I’m going to take some Advil, put the clubs away, and move on. I tried in person In person instruction. I’m not sure why I’m posting. But if you read this , thanks for listening and stay safe.
Hey Scott! Sounds like something isn't quite right. Send me some photos/videos of your swing and illl be happy to provide you with a body-friendly solution 😀 sagutogolf@gmail.com
STARTED PRACTICING STACK AND TILT, BOUGHT SOME COBRA IRONS AND KNOCKING 8-10 STROKES OFF THE FIRST COUPLE TIMES GOING OUT!!! WAITING ON WARM WEATHER TO COME BACK!! GOOD OL OHIO
The only issue I see is when you can not externally rotate the right arm that well. Especially people with a bit rounded upper back and shoulder in a more forward position will have problems with external rotation of the right arm.
Yes, I've noticed when I tell them to get the hand pointing 45 degrees it works well. Sometimes people are too tense and they cant make the motion. If they cant make it, I devise workarounds
@@SagutoGolf Thanks, if you could show that hand poining 45 degrees sometime would be great
