    You have always mentioned the importance and benefits of doing a PhD. But there are many issues faced by the students such as (1) PhD becoming a never ending process (2) PhD guide not treating students properly and (3) No publication etc. So please come up with a video where you discuss about under what circumstances one has to drop the PhD or change the guide/mentor or take other alternativ

    Contractors are there in the first place because US corporations wanted to keep cost down. The desi consultancies job is to keep the supply while keeping the costs down. As long as that purpose is served, they will exists and some fraud will be ignored.

    The best solution is folks employed in H1B should have only one layer between the employer and the Vendor company. It can get rid of most of the issues but the other problem due to this might be it will discourage folks from foreign nation to take up MS courses

    You missed couple of things
    1. American companies doesn't always hire contractors to pay less. Especially it IT world, lot of projects are temporary or term based. Why will a company hire a fulltime employee when the that employee is no longer needed after a period of time? Is the solution to fire them after a given time?
    2. It is not always wrong for a company to hire people frok other countries to reduce costs. Think about this, if you are a consumer of a product manufactured by 2 companies A and B. Would you only buy the product from A just because that company is only hiring people from origin country?? Offcourse not, as a consumer you pick a company that is more value to your money.
    Simple example would be toyota. Why do majority of Americans buy a foreign based car in usa inspite of some ford etc? If consumers doesn't care why do you think companies do?

    8:55 Charging for H1B filing is still happening indirectly. Desi contractors charge client $100/hr but then take 50% cut and pay the actual person $50/hr for 40hrs a week 50 weeks a year after deducting the cost of flight, visa, etc. What they offer is that they'll pay the visa fees, one time to and fro air tickets for employee + spouse, etc. They are not offering out of generosity. They're taking it out of the employee's future earnings. If they don't bake in that cost, the pay would be 30% cut instead of 50%. I know few companies that do this. It's not illegal and cannot be proved in court but surely is unethical.

    Hey sir, I'm a 17 year old 12th Grade Computer Science ( PCM+CS ) student in India. From my young age i was intrested in Programming and Cybersecurity. I'm not preparing for JEE coz i find PCM unnecessary. A software engineer only need to know Discrete Mathematics and little bit High school physics. That's it.
    I find nearly 90% of JEE syllabus unnecessary for Computer Science.
    It's my Dream to work in Silicon Valley ( San Francisco Bay Area )
    But unfortunately I don't have the budget for 4 years tution fees in USA. So I want to ask you what about 2+2 International Program of Lovely Professional University. 2 years in Indian uni and 2 years in San Francisco State University. Is SFSU a Good University? What will be the issues I will face in USA. And in SFSU I will be in 3rd year so is it possible to get Internship?
    Am considering this option because it's budget Friendly.
    And what are the Entrepreneurship opportunities available in USA will not being a US citizen will be a problem there.

    • @DesiAmericanProfessor
      @DesiAmericanProfessor  2 года назад

      Please do not quote the biggest crook of all time Churchill. You can try the 2+2 program but getting a degree in India can also help. You can also try and consider going to school in Germany or smaller states in the US such as Idaho where few international students go

    True for small/desi companies but not for amazing tech. Just as a side note, it is worth being on H1 for a good tech firm. People are "fine" being on H1 and making 200k-300k at FAANG vs being a professor for a university with a green card and making less than 100k.
